I have no idea, nor does anyone else, to know if you are right or wrong about how Rossueau is coached. But how's that working out for the Bills? Years and years of this. How's it working out? It's so ridiculously frustrating. It's the same thing, year after year, and it doesn't work in the biggest of games. They need some players that make splash plays. It's pretty damn glorious when Oliver does it from time to time. But damn man, why pay a guy a ton of money to be an edge setter first and foremost. That makes no sense. Unless it's against Lamar. The only thing that baffles me is that McDermott seems to know how to shut down Lamar in the postseason. Maybe it's this disciplined style of play that you speak of that contains Lamar and makes hime throw more. But when you think about it, who doesn't shut down Lamar in the playoffs. But again, my hats off to McD in the postseason against the Ravens. His style of defense seems to be the right thing to slow them down for some reason.
-
So, let me get this straight, and I'm not picking a fight with you or anyone. But, Rosseau is supposedly close to elite. Bosa is a stud, if he's healthy. And Oliver is a beast according to many here (I think because he sometimes makes splash plays). But yet, the line sucks every frigging game. So, what's wrong? And if McDermott truly is over-coaching all of them, particularly Rosseau, it doesn't really make sense that he brought back one of the biggest freelancing players in the NFL in Phillips. In addition, Bosa constantly gets sucked in to middle running plays and loses the edge. His play so far, should be driving McDermott nuts. I'm glad we have Bosa, but if we have to play the Ravens again, or the Chiefs when games are actually important, he scares the crap outta me. Nothing here is matching any guesses out there as to what's wrong. I'm in the camp of these guys aren't that good. Never really have been. They aren't bad either. We just have a bunch of middle of the road guys without a star. We need to hit on some damn draft picks for a guy that is actually a stud.

Week 1, Nevermores v. Bills, PREDICT THE SCORE!
FormerLV-BILLS replied to Freddie's Dead's topic in The Stadium Wall
34-20 Ravens. -
Interesting last paragraph in the PFT report on Florio's site. Not sure I believe it, but.....it is the only thing I could find other than a cousin of Jimmy who works in the Tim Horton's drive-thru and gets Beane his coffee everyday. From PFT..... "Last year Poyer started 16 games for the Dolphins, and the Bills will expect him to contribute right away despite missing all of the offseason. Poyer knows the defense, knows his coaches and knows his teammates, and he should be able to fit right in." I don't know if that is a guess or not on PFT's part. Usually, when it's worded like that, it means contribute to actually playing and being active. Although, it could still mean the other way as well.

You can write a dissertation as long as you want. And you can twist things as much as you want. You know exactly what I mean about our WR's. They are medicore, at best. I've said that about 400 times. FACT: This great offense failed again, when it had the ball last in the playoffs, and once the 1st round pick (and another mediocre pass catcher) failed to make a slightly above average play after Allen performed heroics just to get the ball near him. Why didn't he make the play you ask? Because he isn't/wasn't quite as athletic or coordinated enough to make a catch like that. 1st round pick. Failed when it counts. That lofty #1 ranked offense mattered 0%, because when it comes down to it, he wasn't good enough to make a play in a real pressure situation. AKA, mediocre wins you a 1 pm game against the Saints that we sleepwalk through, especially when Allen your QB. That mediocre talent fails to deliver in crunch time in big playoff games where the other team has star players. See also.....our defense. You defended, not me, Josh Palmer as a #2. He wasn't, but he did have a chance to step in when some Chargers got hurt. You tell me.....what do these stats tell you? 2024 39-584-1 2023 38-581-2 2022 72-769-3 2021 33-353-4 Those numbers SCREAM #4 on a lot of teams. A lot of teams concentrate on the offensive side of the ball. So, what about that year where he caught 72 balls? Well, he sucked the next two years again. A logical conclusion can be that he just kind of sucks. Another logical conclusion could be that he isn't good enough to capitalize on the 72 catch season because he isn't good enough. And the last logical conclusion could be that the Chargers know he sucks because they couldn't keep him elevated, for whatever reason, and keep him as an ascending player. He was painfully below average for 2 consecustive years after his solid year. One solid year, not great, but one solid year. How about Mack Hollins, the biggest and most overrated player since Da'Rick Rogers here (whatever his name was). Supposedly a big loss right? Or should I have used Martin Nance from yesteryear as well? He has stunk his entire career. SCREAMS 4th wr. Actually, as a WR, he screams that he should be waived from the NFL. He was even watched out the door in Orchard Park when the Bills love mediocre WR's and special teams guys. He was signed to a very modest contract in NE that we certainly could have matched here to keep him if we wanted. But hey, he's funny and a good guy because he cooks and walks around barefoot I guess. He actually stars in that stuff. The wrong stuff. 2024 31-378-5 2023 18-251-0 2022 57-690-4 2021 13-223-4 2020 16-176-1 2019 10-125-0 Should I go on? Because it doesn't get much better. And Hollins put up 31-378-5 with the best QB in the league. And then, to boot, the Bills let him go, for the collection of new stiffs that exist now. Shakir could be a beast if he didn't have to be the #1 guy on this team. The rest of these guys.....meh. Hell, that's why Gabe Davis is back in town. Allen is the Porsche at the dealership with a bunch of 2017 Nissan Altima's 200 feet away at the used car section of the lot. Everyone knows it. And it's the same philospjy this year as always. Tell Josh not to be the hero.....when your roster sets him up to have to be the hero. Stats don't tell the entire story. However, they do indicate a lot. And for whatver reason our WR's don't have any stats to be proud of, they don't have any for a reason. Most of the time, it's just the fact that you kinda suck. Our WR's outside of Shakir kinda suck. All of them except Shakir, and Coleman who only gets a pass because he's only in his second year. But he certainly didn't do anything yet to put away the myth that we have no clue how to develop and draft NFL caliber WR's. Everybody is supposed to eat. That's what we use as a cute parting shot for Diggs. However, most of our guys are anorexic. We need some steak eaters on this team. We have only one.....Allen.
-
Fact......we have one star on this football team after 8 years of this regime. They do get credit for picking Allen. You can try to justify the WR's any way you want, but they are all mediocre. I like Shakir. He's not a #1. I about spit my drink out about your description of Palmer. This is a dude that couldn't produce in LA when they had no WR's because all of them were hurt. Of course though, people here actually thought we lost something when Hollins went to New England. Hollins blows. Of course, his 25-30 catch average number of catches fit right in here. Because after all, everybody eats. But on this team, everyone is anorexic, because they all are mediocre at best. We have one star after 8 years. One. Fact. This is a 3-4 win team without Allen.
-
I for one, after a regime having 8 years to establish itself, would just like to see someone other than Josh Allen look like a star player. Or hell, I'll even take a WR that looks like they might be better than a typical fourth WR on almost any other NFL team that has even the slightest clue. I could care less about the score. When you watch these games, I see none of that. That's all I want. I ask again, if one of our WR's gets hurt, does it even matter? Once again, we have a stable of about 10 medicore, at best, WR's playing with the best QB in the league. Yet, we have about 400 rotational, and mediocre, defensive lineman again. It's the same tired philosphy of a defensive coach not adding to his strength. I keep hearing about this "best offense in the league crap" every week. But yet, they've had the ball last a few times in the playoffs and couldn't come through. Mainly because when it's crunch time, the mediocre shows. Of course, we all know the defense fails when it counts as well. Catch the friggin ball Kincaid. You are a first round pick that needed to make a decent play as a professional. Mediocre. All over the field. Mediocre players and Josh Allen. But hey Josh, "Don't Try To Do Too Much".

If you are cutting Hamlin, do it now...
FormerLV-BILLS replied to Ethan in Cleveland's topic in The Stadium Wall
Usually true. However, the Ravens are loaded. They most likely wouldn't suck without Lamar. But they obviously woudn't be as good. Same with the Eagles. I'm pretty sure they wouldn't suck. The Lions probably wouldn't suck without their best player. Hell, they were missing about 10 of them last year, and didn't suck. The Bills.........well...........who the hell would they have left? Without Allen, who the hell would they have left on either side of the ball? There are no other superstars on this team. Not even close to a second one. On offense, who would make a play without Allen out there? On defense, we already know they can't stop good QB's. Imagine if they were on the field more, because the Bills didn't have Allen. Eight years of this regime. One star player. A couple of nice players. The rest (probably 80% of the starters) are interchangeable, mediocre, players. Again, if any of the WR's get hurt, is it really a big deal? We kind of miss Shakir, but they are almost all interchangeable. -

It's 100% true. Trubisky has proven to be awful throughout his career. Mike White was already that crappy AFC East QB, and would quickly shift to the worst in the division. And yeah, Buechele blows. He's camp fodder. 3-4 wins without Allen. The Bills have one stud on this team. To me, that's mind boggling 8 years into a regime. They get credit for Allen for sure. But geez, otherwise, it's a collection of medicore talent all over the field. I mean, really, with all of the WR injuries that the Bills have had, does it really matter which three are left out there starting? They have like 12 WR's on the roster, it seems, and all of them are mediocre. And really, none look better than Shavers. To me, it's just as frustrating not equipping Allen with talent than it is not making the playoffs for almost 2 decades. Just my opinion. The same result is coming again from the same exact blueprint we've tried for the last 7 years. -

It's OK, as long as the Bills have 400 rotational, and average, defensive lineman, with another 240 rotational, and below average, defensive lineman on the practice squad......well.......that'll fix everythng. Apparently that fixes one of the most mediocre WR corps in the league as well. As asked by Pam Oliver last night. If Josh Allen isn't on this team, it's 3-4 win team. I fear we are going to get the same exact result as every other year. Same failing blueprint when you have a guy like Allen as your QB. -
Right, because the "Non-Distraction" route has yielded how many Superbowls for us? Like it matters.

Super Bowl ticket prices cratering.
FormerLV-BILLS replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall
I kid you not. I went to a JMU vs. Ball State womens bball game today. Tickets were $23 per. I got two. The friggin fees were $16 per ticket for tickets that were a $23 value. I was stunned. So, the bill for two $23 tickets came out to be $79. Unreal. -
No you don't. The Bengals are still a dangerous team. They've been running up and down the field on everyone and their losses are barely losses to a lot of good teams. They are having a frustrating year, but I have a feeling that I'd rather play about three or four teams that will end up making the playoffs rather than the Bengals.

To rest or not to rest the starters, that is the question

TNF. Jets Texans. Who do we want to win tonight?

Probably the Jets, but man it's awesome radio and TV when they continue to lose. The Jets are fun when they are the circus, with an unlikable douchebag at QB. -
PSL Pricing/Seat Selection Discussion
FormerLV-BILLS replied to Spiderweb's topic in The Stadium Wall
I am a long time member, and used to post a lot. For some reason my account went AWOL and I never posted again in years. I posted about my tickets/PSL's but I had to make a new account it was approved weird, took a long time, and I don't think many people saw because they are asking questions about sections close to mine. Here was my experience / thoughts. My PSL meeting was back in August. I have 24 years of seniority. Copied and pasted. Hope this helps. I had my meeting a week or so ago via phone since I live in VA. I've had season tickets for 24 years. I'm in Section 134, Row 40 between the 45 and 50 yard line on the Bills side. Lower Bowl. My current tickets are awesome. Just a few notes from my own personal opinion so you know my mindset before I answered the call. I didn't want a new stadium. I also don't think the renderings of the new stadium have personally created any extra excitement in me whatsoever. It looks about as bland as you can get in today's world of creative architecture. My favorite part of the new stadium are the giant buffalos outside of the stadium. Compared to what Tennessee and Cleveland have just shown, I personally think Buffalo's is already subpar. However, I understand the new concept, a possible available budget for it, and that's just my $.02. So, I've been somewhat pessimistic from the entire process of this new stadium. Deep down in, I've probably know this was when my season ticket holder status would end. In 2026. My PSL's for my current two seats in the lower bowl are 15K a piece. So, I would pay $30,000 just to have the "privilege" to purchase those new season tickets that would about double in price from what they are now. YIPPEEEE. I love the Bills. I love going to games. But I'll be damned if I'm paying roughly $38,000 to enter that stadium in 2026. It's pure garbage, and I pretty much said that. My rep also acted like a used car salesman and asked what I would be comfortable paying to get me in that new stadium and locked in. That's also garbage. That's like those of you (which I actually hope nobody does) tells that car dealership what you would like your payment to be for that shiny new car they have sitting in the showroom. They can make the payment whatever you need it to be by fixing their terms. It felt similar here. I instead asked my rep.......why don't you tell me what the PSL's are for the entire stadium so that I could pick what I'm comfortable paying according to the prices that are set for certain seating areas. She countered that with the fact that she doesn't even know what the prices are.........I interrupted her and said, well......you can tell whoever made that decision for that process is also garbage. I told her this is like playing a used car pricing game, and they are about as far from transparent as you can be while going through this. Even though she said she didn't know any other pricing in the stadium, she then "hinted" at some other PSL costs on the next steps down. So, they know more than they are letting on. To sit on the Bills side of the field is more expensive than the visitors side. I do know that. My corresponding PSL's on the visitors side of the field are $10,000 a piece instead of $15,000 on the Bills sideline. She also said that if I didn't act quickly that these seats would be gone within days. Even though, it took three different emails, multiple phone calls, and A TEXT at 6pm at night.......really.......6 pm at night blind text to see if I would hop on a quick call. That's the one that hooked me in. I actually texted back and said yes. However, if those tickets are flying off the board, I'm pretty sure they wouldn't need to try to communicate with me so hard. Lastly, she did hint that the next step down in PSLs in the lower bowl ran all the way to the endzone corners and those are 8k per seat. I wasn't quite clear where that 8k started, but that's what I was told. To wrap it up, I told the lady I have two girls heavily involved in high school athletics and simply asked her if she thought I should give a billionaire 38k instead of investing in my daughters. Hell, I told her I could easily fund my daughters high school teams and provide a better life for them instead of paying PSL's at that price point. Even though I was venting and provoking her a bit, she answered gracefully, and said I had to do what was best for me. She did well there. I give her credit. I told her after 24 years of being a season ticket holder that I was done, and I'll just pick and choose individual games that I want to attend in the future on someone else's PSL dime. The entire thing stinks to me. I hate being a fan of the NFL. Sometimes it's even embarassing that I am. But I'm not going to sit here and pretend that I won't watch games anymore. Because I will. I not going to sit here and pretend to not be a Bills fan anymore, because I will be. I'm still going to go to games. I'll just purchase on the secondary market instead, and save at least $50,000 over the rest of my lifetime. But it doesn't mean it doesn't stink. Think about it. $30,000 to have the right to purchase tickets to watch a football game. It's downright ignorant. And I am a person that is lucky enough that I can probably afford that at the current time. I'm just choosing some restraint at this moment. I don't blame Pegula and the NFL for making as much money as they can. That's what you do in business.....try to make money. But lately, I'm just getting a bit more picky about how much I give them. I don't buy jerseys anymore. I don't do much except go to the games and try to spend as little of my money on the NFL stuff as possible. But I still do love it. Love the players. Love the City. And I do appreciate the Pegula's keeping the team here. I've just personally had enough on some things. This is one. If anything, hopefully this helps some of you with where price points currently are. -
