On the radio, Larry Quinn keeps saying they have no products to sell. I wasn't sure if he was kidding but he said they were scrambling in the arena to find some old blue uniforms to have out for the press conference (and these won't even be the alts that they eventually wear as they're going to update the colors on them).

Still a little confused. I knew the third jersey was the original road uniform but is it re-colored with the new blue and gold colors of the new jerseys or does it have the original blue and gold. I had heard it was the former (which I'm fine with).

Ooooooooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. I did notice the ship was similar to the original one he arrived in (and I was wondering where he got that from as well). OK, so he got a new ship from the fortress. I guess that makes sense. I still like my Superman in the 1950's idea.

What I heard (and what is another way of saying the same thing) is that the new colors are very similar to the current Indiana Pacers colors.

I'm really happy with everything Darcy has done so far this offseason. Except that they apparently did not even offer Briere a four year deal (this according to Briere when WGR interviewed him).

Are they going to bring out Schoop and the Bulldog to tell us to "wait until you see the logo on the jersey before you judge it!!!"? Because obviously seeing that ridiculous logo against a different background is going to make it good. Here's hoping for good news.

See, I thought that too which doesn't explain how he flew all the way to Krypton (or what was left of it) to set up the latest movie. I'd like to see someone restart the Superman movies but set them in the 1950's with Superman not quite as strong as he is in SR. That way it might be dramatic when he's rushing around trying to save people.

I have no idea if or where it's been addressed but I've always thought the only way the Superman story makes sense is if he didn't develop his crazy powers until he was a teenager. A six year old with super strength would be found out immediately, even in Kansas. Now if a 16 year old one day noticed he was significantly stronger, then there's a chance he could keep it a secret.

That man is a hero.

Is there anything in the world better than beautiful girls? I vote no, there is not.

I mentioned this over on the baseball board, but I saw Erin Andrews in person last winter at a UT basketball game and she is incredible. TV doesn't even do her justice. I don't see how any guy could be around her every day and not make an ass out of himself. Erin Andrews is so super hot she's almost in Mandy Moore territory (but obviously not because no one is).

1. Attack Israel 2. Hide behind human shields (women and children) during counterattack. 3. Point out civilian deaths to western reporters. 4. Use civilian deaths to justify #1. Lather, rinse, repeat.

Who's making less sense at the moment? Al Gore or John Kerry? If we're really lucky, we'll have a Gore-Kerry ticket in 08. And they'll get elected and should have all the problems in the world wrapped up by March 2009.

So? The headlines are wrong. What a shock. Rice's trip has been talked about for over a week. And here I thought the media was always accurate.

The guys on GR keep acting like this is over and nothing can be done about it. Even if we're stuck with the banana slug for this season, that doesn't mean the fans can't make it go the way of the Gorton's Fisherman Islanders logo. Whatever that thing is, it's not going to be our logo come 2010. The obvious solution is the slap the original logo on whatever new uniforms they came up with and that's almost certainly what they'll end up doing. (And, no Bulldog, nothing about the rest of the uniform can make me like that logo.) In summary, I'm not buying anything with the banana slug on it and the banana slug will be a memory in a couple years anyway. And when we win the Stanley Cup next season, they'll probably just put the original logo (which is the team's alternate logo starting this season) on the banner.

A four-year deal!!! That was honestly the best case scenario. I don't think the info about his pay is out yet but I doubt Regier overpaid. Supposedly we're working on a 3 year deal with Lydman. Anyone who panicked when McKee and Greir left should feel a little silly right now. Hopefully Briere gets signed long term before the arbitration results come in.

No kidding. The dorks on the cable news channels were already congratulating themselves for doing such a great job on Katrina a couple days into the disaster, right before it turned out most of what they were reporting was wrong. Why be surprised that they still aren't getting the story correct? That's awesome that Barbaro is helping out with the evacuation. You'd think he'd have too much going on with his leg problems to contribute. That's one brave horse.

I actually think the Gorton's logo was a bad logo (mainly because it had ISLANDERS in goofy blocky letters at it's base) but I think good logos can be bad logos for certain teams. The Banana Slug isn't that bad of a logo but it's a terrible Buffalo Sabres logo. Not only does it not feature Sabres and break with our original logo almost as much as the Goathead, but it's clearly a logo that will not last. The best logos are the ones that are timeless, ones you can imagine your team wearing for decades. Whatever the Sabres are wearing next season, the Banana Slug isn't going to be on the uniform come 2016. So why put it on now?
