Don't rely on anyone, or any one news source as it were. The point is, even the "name" news sources are just a bunch of hacks who can't do their jobs. They were off by about 1000% with the New Orleans death toll and most of their Superdome horror stories turned out to be nonsense. Basically they concentrated on one story for an entire week and got nothing about that story right. They got caught this time because people were really paying attention to what happened but you have to figure they have the same low standards for reporting just about everything.

Did you just refer to the flightsuit as "him"? And, yeah, somehow I doubt the President's handlers are real excited about bringing up the ill-advised aircraft carrier landing.

Remember all the stories coming out of New Orleans in the days following Hurricane Katrina about all the violence and mayhem. Turns out they were bullcrap. Is this a bad time to mention that Dan Rather thought Katrina was "one of television news' finest moments"?

I learned that looting is OK as long as you're a minority. I also learned that local and state officials don't really have to do anything because they can just pass the blame on to the President when all hell breaks lose. A third thing I learned is that the term "refugee" is somehow racist. At least, according to Jesse Jackson. I don't know why, but that post was nearly as funny to me as AD's "this friggin' abortion" post in the Retatta thread a couple months back.

This thread is proof that women have no right to complain about how hard it is to find a man. As LanaK just demonstrated, all you really have to do is be cute and post on a football message board. And, sure, it sucks that the only real candidates are: Me (who briefly considered killing an ex-girlfriend's cat a couple months ago) Ed (who listens to Coldplay) Stojan (where to begin...?) and a few other rejects.... ....but these are still options! Actually, reading this post again, maybe women do have a right to complain.

You can't knoch the guy for picking a bad QB when his only two choices were bad QBs. Picking RJ over Flutie didn't cost us anything long term. It was the move with greater potential. As it turns out, neither choice would have helped much.

But...but...they gave us Starbucks....and grunge music....and Frasier! Holy crap, why haven't we ditched them yet?

The NFL only began to really get it's merchandising together in the past 4 years or so. Before then, the level of quality with the replica jerseys that each time sold was all over the place. Back in 2002, they swung a deal with Reebok to market ALL the replica and official uniforms for each team. That's also when they started putting that NFL patch at the base of the neck of each uniform. I remember reading this big article in USA Today that detailed all the changes with the NFL's new merchandising strategy - basically emulating how the NHL and MLB sell official merchandise. I have a Phil Hanson jersey from the 90's and it's pretty low quality. By comparison, the Eric Moulds jersey I bought about 3 years ago is really nice.

I know. I'm just poking fun at him for basically getting drunk on TV and acting like a loon.
