  1. My parents were at the Sabres store early this week and said they weren't too impressed with how much they had. They also said about "half" the stuff there was blue and gold throwback stuff.
  2. We don't. But *I* know him in real life.
  3. AAAAAAARRRRRRRGGGGGHHHHHH!!!!! Damn it, BiB, I trusted you!!! I TRUSTED YOU!!!!
  4. It's a fact that he has contacts with the team.
  5. Hope you're right, man.
  6. Bartovic wasn't a defenseman.....?
  7. Bet your bottom dollar.....that tomorrow.... There'll be sun!
  8. Week 1 against the Texans....
  9. The timer reset to 108 right? 4+8+15+16+23+42 = 108 I don't think anyone mentioned this just yet.
  10. Which doesn't change the fact that it's true.
  11. Oh my God.....YES!
  12. It is. I caught it. It was the same "swan" logo that was on Desmond's jumpsuit and on some piece of equipment that Locke looked at when he first went down into the hatch. Looks like a corporate logo - maybe an octogon - and a single word across the middle (horizontally). I thought I was going nuts when I saw that on the shark but if anyone else saw that too, that it can't be a coincidence. On this show, nothing is. That was my first thought but I can't remember seeing anything with them in season 1. My bet is they'll start popping up in flashbacks this season (Hurley anyone?). Great episode tonight. That last scene was perfect!
  13. That's not true, the Dems did have that one comprehensive plan to- oh, nevermind, that was The West Wing......
  14. And an even worse sign for that lead singer of Coldplay....
  15. The President is supposed to keep track of all the nursing homes in disaster areas now? Yeah, clearly if not for President Bush, those people at the nursing home wouldn't be dead right now.
  16. Headline from LA Times: Katrina Takes a Toll on Truth, News Accuracy You know things are bad when the LA Times is dissing the press. So how bad was it? But, really, why did this happen? Because Americans are racist! My favorite part (other than the press just reporting "whatever") is how important the Mayor was in spreading the bad info that got around the world. Truly a great leader.
  17. I clicked on that link and the first thing that came up was a thread about Dakota Fanning.
  18. Just be patient. They'll get there.
  19. Blame him for what? The Federal response was right on par with all previous responses to hurricanes. Basically this guy got slimed for not responding quickly enough to an unprecedented natural disaster that was further blown out of proportion by the failures who make up the mainstream media. Almost all of the hysterical coverage in the days following the hurricane (which was when Brown took the most heat) turned out to be bullcrap. Basically the main thing this guy did wrong was not turn into Superman, fly around the world to turn back time, and then visit NO to tell Nagin and Blanco to get their sh-- together. And, yes, I do hold him accountable for not doing that.
  20. Great, I didn't even know you could do that. One more thing to worry about.
  21. San Antonio is already full of Cowboys and Texans fans so they don't care about the Bills and Saints. And, supposedly tickets are pretty expensive down there. They'll end up with 60,000 to 70,000 people, which is pretty good for a game that has nothing to do with the city it's being played in.
  22. I don't think that's why FOX is so popular. FOX is popular because it caters to conservatives who feel left out with just about every other channel. But then I think conservatives (and probably liberals too) would like a news source that wasn't constantly making an ass of itself by trying to spice things up during broadcasts. I'd love to see someone try to launch a cable TV news channel that avoided all of the stupid crap that FOX and CNN cover. Missing girl in Aruba? Pass. Crazed reporter ranting about New Orleans? Pass. Spend time fact-checking the other guys. It wouldn't dominate the ratings but there has to be a niche market for that.
  23. Mayor Nagin? Governor Blanco?
  24. Too bad. If you don't know if something is true, you don't report it and hope it's true later. The reporting of Katrina did a lot of damage. It's something you can't fix with a quick correction days later (not that they've been very upfront about all the mistakes they made).
