  1. How much do I owe you this time?
  2. Actually, in the commercial, one high profile Democrat is dancing for Ferrer.....
  3. First thing I thought when I saw the thread title.
  4. Those look awesome. Better than 80% of the uniforms current teams wear.
  5. Is there anything left to remake? "Guys, here's what's up for next year! Rememeber that show Family Matters? We do a full length feature of that with Denzel Washington as Carl and Keenan Thompson as Urkel! I smell a Memorial Day release!" "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. It's time to bring it back. We can cast 50 cent as the Fresh Prince and maybe have Will Smith make a cameo. We'll make our money back on the soundtrack alone." "How long has it been since they made those Lord of the Rings movies? Maybe we wait another year and hammer out a remake. Is Ben Affleck available?"
  6. Click on this and try to figure it out ????
  7. Yeah, I'm sure they released that memo to show that back in 1988, Alito was stuck with a bad case and it wasn't his fault he lost. Makes perfect sense. They released the memo to knock him down. They're trying to slam him with this. You can present the quotes in such a way that they look bad. The title is that he "embarrassed" the government but the put quotes underneath that to make it seem as if he could care less. They make it seem as though the case was devastating to the government but Alito's philosophy was "oh well." That's the rotten part, as I said earlier. The quotes are meant to look bad because they are out of context but IMO are not bad when you consider that there wasn't much else he could say at that point.
  8. Monstervision with Joe Bob Briggs!!!! That used to be such a great show. He used to show a double feature every Saturday night and talk about the movies going in and out of the commercial breaks (and it was usually pretty darn funny). Joe Bob also had some small roles in big movies - off the top of my head he was a sadistic docter in the Nicolas Cage-John Travolta movie Face//Off.
  9. Of course, the DNC talking points memo still wasn't as bad as Chuck Schumer suggesting Alito would roll back the gains Rosa Parks made (essentially turning her coffin into a soapbox).
  10. All prosecutors make statements after cases whether they win or lose. Even the statements they picked out didn't seem that defensive. His statements seemed pretty straight forward to me. I don't know what else he was supposed to say. Nope, not my problem. They brought this up and they're the ones framing him as a prosecutor who blew a huge case and really didn't seem to care. I mean, he said he wasn't embarassed - so what? What is the point of this and why is it an important issue here in 2005? They had to think those quotes were of some special significance or they wouldn't have included all of them. Either they're trying to imply that he's a sloopy prosecutor who didn't care or something worse. Discuss all you want, but don't grab a few quotes from him to make it seem like he didn't even care and that it wasn't a big deal to him. I'm sure it was a big deal to him. You don't get as far in the profession as he has without being very good at what you do. Remember the old Jordan commercial where he talks about all the shots he missed and all the games he lost?
  11. Probably because they cherry pick some quotes from Alito to make it sound like he didn't care or try his hardest to win that case. And how about point no.1 of the memo being an attempt to characterize his record as a prosecutor based on one case? His work "embarassed" the government? Classy.
  12. 1. Tedy Bruschi2. Everything else
  13. Ouch, my feelings! Considering the fact that the Word that made the document was licensed to the DNC and Chris Matthews expressing no doubt where it came from (and if there was doubt, he wouldn't have been all over the document as he is very sympathetic to the Democrats), I'd say this isn't some sort of Rovian plot. Than again, I don't wear a tinfoil hat so my mind works a little differently than yours.
  14. Did you know Whitney Houston's debut album had four no.1 tracks?
  15. Actually, it's a pretty good bet that everyone knows who authored the document Microsoft Word is a B word.
  16. Stumbling out of the gate Every time I think the Republicans are completely out of whack, the DNC does something even dumber.
  17. My all-time favorite and another good one:
  18. Everyone thought that.
  19. I'm sure he knows a ton about who exactly should be on the court. He's known about Alito's existence for almost 3 hours now.
  20. Whatever poll you got that from is meaningless. The only poll that matters is the one where people leave their houses and actually vote. I could care less about what some pollster finds out by calling people who happen to be home at 3pm on a Wednesday afternoon and want to waste 30 minutes talking about what they "approve" of. But, yeah, I'm sure you're right that Bush just whipped up some quick list to take that CIA thing out of the news.
  21. Your argument wasn't about who the best choice was, but that he made the choice to take attention away from that CIA thing. Which is ridiculous, but you put it out there anyway. Bush's job is to pick someone who is qualified and who will please the people who actually voted for Bush. Remember them? The 51% of voters who could actually be bothered to go to the polls a year ago. Bush seems to have done both this time around. Bush didn't get elected so that he could pick someone to please Harry Reid and Chuck Schumer.
  22. Bush is evil because he nominated someone with credentials worthy of SCOTUS for SCOTUS as part of 2 of his 3 nominations.
  23. I'm betting against the Bills.
  24. The Bills will find a way to lose the bye week, mark my words.
