  1. I know they didn't get a 2nd this year. You trade pick # 60 which is basically a 3rd and the Bills own 2nd next year which will fall in the 50 to 64 range. That Vikings pick they received has a good chance of being in the 33 to 50 range. It would amount to a trade of 31 year old Diggs, two late 2nds in the 2024 and 2025 draft plus a 6th 2024 and 5th 2025 pick for 26 year old Aiyuk and a early 2025 2nd round pick unless you think the Vikings are going to come on like gang busters. I dont and im happy all day every day with that trade.
  2. Hey if a 2nd is all it takes then sign me up. He just has a lot more value than Diggs so I struggle to see him on the move for just a 2nd.
  3. Because he's 26 and has 5 seasons of prime ball ahead of him. It would be the Diggs trade all over again only this time the Bills have Kincaid, Cook, Shakir, Samuel, Knox and a much better oline instead of Beasley, washed up Brown, Isiah Mckenzie and a rookie 4th rounder in Gabe Davis and Knox, Singletary, and pathetic oline.
  4. two 2nds for Aiyuk and draft a receiver at 28 and you might break the NFL.
  5. Not saying for sure id do this but on every mock draft simulator it shows the Bills based on the trade value charts could take a receiver at 28 and trade back into the 1st at 29 to 32 by trading the 60th and next years 1st. This would allow us to double dip at reciever and hedge our bets. Bills could also just take a reciever at 28 and 60. Polk and other interesting options could be around at 60. What I dont want to see happen is the Bills trade up and use this year first. next years first and this years second to do it. I want the Bills to walk away with two receivers this draft from the first 2 rounds.
  6. Not sure I completely agree. The mainstream media is what if is and of course there will be buzz words because it draws ratings from the casual fans. Guys like Nick Wright and Steven A Smith are NBA guys who sell talking points about the NFL because if you don't talk NFL you don't get the big money in American sports media. NFL media that focuses exclusively on the NFL are not saying anything negative about Josh Allen. What they're saying is McDermott is a defensive mind and his defenses are falling short in the playoffs and that Beane has done a piss poor job of surrounding Allen with elite talent outside of Diggs. I actually don't disagree with this. Chiefs this past year had a superior defense to any Bills defense the past 7 years. How is that? Every other major AFC contender has had superior offensive talent to the Bills. How is that? The one thing some mainstream media talk about that I dont agree with is the Bills window is closing. No its not. If Beane attacks offensive talent in this draft and doesn't mess around the Bills could be set up for their best offensive season yet under Allen.
  7. https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/39813751/everything-know-nfl-hybrid-kickoff-rule-change I am curious how people feel the new kick off rule will affect our draft? I was under the impression that the Bills go Receiver and DL with their first 2 picks and then load up on dl, db, and maybe a developmental interior OL, and RB after that. With these new rule changes I think the Bills top 2 picks remain the same but the Bills also look to add athletic LB, shifty reciever/kick returner, and of course more db picks than I was anticipating. Samuel will be a part of the return team and potentially Shakir but I think with how revolutionary the kick off will be this season the Bills will be forced to draft players who will excel in it. Am I wrong in thinking this? How does everyone else feel? I just feel it would be a waste to not double dip on reciever with at least 2 of your first 5 picks in such a deep receiver draft. Wish the LB in this draft were better.
  8. Guys let's not over think this. Beane is going receiver Round 1 unless he gets a haul of picks that allows him to trade back and take a top ranked receiver early in round 2. Hollins replaces Sherfield and Samuel replaces Hardy. Still no Gabe replacement on the roster. Beane isn't dumb. Bills accumulated multiple injuries last year and I believe a big part of it was because the Bills were scratching and clawing all season in every game due to the offense inability to put teams away early. The Bills lack of offensive talent was glaring and it became obvious when Gabe went down and we had to start Sherfield. The defense is what it is. They haven't been able to stop a nose bleed regardless of who the Bills have put out there. Beane has spent all this money on the dline and secondary and all its amounted to is Mahomes and Burrow marching up and down the field on the Bills in the playoffs. Well if the Bills are going to be marched on regardless why not try out young talent who typically stay healthier over the stretch of a long season and see if they can band together and play better come playoff time? Meanwhile on offense why not actually load it up and put pressure on other teams forcing their offenses to be one dimensional giving our defense easier looks? It is time we became a five threat offense. Good at running the ball. Good tight ends. Drafting one of these deep threat studs in Round 1 putting pressure on teams with the deep ball. Having Diggs, Samuel, Kincaid and Shakir for intermediate, short, and bubble routes. Then of course still have Josh Allen scrambling ability. Oline is finally not a bag of trash with the emergence of Torrence, Brown, and McGovern to go with Dawkins. Good things are coming. Bills offense is going to go to another level. Just need that deep threat round 1 receiver and another big body rb who doesn't fade down the stretch.
  9. I learned the draft is irrelevant and only over paying for guys in FA is the way too go.
  10. Ever heard of internal development? Pretty much how every NFL team since the dawn of time vastly improved.
  11. Of course they'll be better. Linebackers are all back. Our 2 best d tackles are back and unless you think Philips, Ford, and Settle are studs it won't be hard to upgrade there. D ends is a wash unless you think flamed out 2nd half of the year Floyd will be greatly missed. Corners will be the same or better as Benford and Elam grow. Safety is a wash. Poyer and Hyde brought names not plays. Offense is about to take off. besides Morse this team will be better across the board. Cook, Kincaid, Shakir will be better. Whatever receiver we take in Round 1 will be better than no show for 3/4 of the season Gabe Davis. Diggs is still Diggs. He just needs a reliable receiver opposite him that can take the roof off and not disappear for games on end. Allen is Allen. People are ridiculous and watch too much ESPN and Foxsports. NFL isn't the NBA. teams are built throwing systems, drafting, development, and smart depth FA moves.
  12. Hating the Patriots is so cliche. Half the NFL hates the Patriots with extreme passion. Let the Jets have the Divisional Patriots hate. The Bills were absolute trash during the Pats dynasty. I hate losing to the Dolphins the most and feel the most joy when beating the Chiefs. Not sure I hate the Chiefs to be honest. 13 seconds was less about the Chiefs and more about Frasier sitting back and letting Mahomes have easy completions. This season was less about the Chiefs dominance and the fact our back 7 was a MASH Unit. Kudos to the Chiefs. They're winners. Maybe one day our defense will make an appearance in the playoffs against a QB who isn't a back up or scrub.
  13. I think this offseason starts and ends with adding premium offensive talent and finding guys to fill in the gaps on defense who can be developed. Bills need to seriously consider releasing White, Morse, and trading Diggs. This season is the reset season for the cap. I fall firmly in the camp that the Bills must use 2 of their first 3 picks on a receiver. Bills can't afford to mess around with this position group anymore.
  14. I think the Bills need to get the defense to a point where they are chaotic and scheme to get a turnover and a few stops. The idea of shutting a team down with superior talent hasn't worked. Bills need to add talent on the offense and start unleashing Allen's full potential. While not int the neighborhood of those guys I think Shakir is a terrific find. This is kinda my point as well. The Bills seem to be the opposite of the Rams where they can find diamonds in the later rounds defensively that scheme fit. Heck they can even sign mid/low tier free agents who scheme fit well on the defense. So why are we wasting top end picks on the defense and cap space on the defense when its obvious that those should be used on offense?
  15. I may be overly optimistic. I may be a fool. I do believe the Bills as they transition to the second stage of Josh Allen's career are not going to see the drop off and chaos that other teams deal with when having to release players due to pricing themselves out of the salary cap. My reasoning is I think the Bills and more importantly Brandon Beane discovered something this year observing the team and the NFL as a whole. The Bills have definitely shown a greater focus towards adding talent to the defense and it has come at the expense of the offense. As we see a lot of the veteran defensive players age out and move on, it sets up a unique opportunity for the Bills to shift more cap towards offensive weapons. I think at the very least this season we saw McDermott show he can do more with a lot less talent on defense. (I am aware a lot of you want him gone. I don't think he is going anywhere) Under Beane we saw numerous drafts where we spent high end picks on the defense and tried to make do with players drafted in the later rounds on the offense. Beane must realize after witnessing the poor play of our outside receivers that this team isn't going too far unless they add legit top end talent to the offensive side of the ball. He has a phenomenal start with Cook, Kincaid, Shakir an offensive line that should be together another 5 seasons. Minus Morse. Find guys later in the draft that McDermott can turn into capable starters on the defensive side of the ball. Start giving Josh outside weapons and guys who put pressure on the secondary and beat zone consistently on all three levels and man coverage. The future isn't shot. The Bills haven't come close to maximizing Josh's talent on offense. For all the money we have poured into the defense it still hasn't come close to having key stops when we have needed it in the playoffs. Let's just build a juggernaut on offense instead of a Josh Allen Superman show on offense. Offense wins in this league. Not surprising Mahomes best seasons were with Hill and a younger Kelce. That Lamar is having his best year when the Ravens went and got him reciever talent. That Burrow has been the only QB to beat Mahomes with insane reciever talent. To win you need a top flight QB and a great cast of reciever talent around him. Bills have never surrounded Josh with top reciever talent outside Diggs. Time to get on that. Starting this off season.
  16. With the Cowboys, Chiefs, Eagles, Chargers, Dolphins, as well as the Jets and Patriots who already beat us still to come. I think thats all she wrote on the 2023 Buffalo Bills. This team better gut the defense and add significant offensive weapons and a new OC this offseason. It clear we can make it work with less defensive talent. Clearly we can't with less offensive talent. If we don't do this we might as well trade Josh Allen to the Niners so we don't waste his career.
  17. If be for this but it must be a late pick. Not sure why the Vikings do it though.
  18. Bills have some time here. I play out the next three weeks vs. the Giants, Patriots, and Buccaneers and evaluate then. Our offense should be enough to beat those three opponents. If they're not, this team has far more significant issues. Come Oct. 31 it should be quite clear what is needed. Obviously guys we could be potentially targeting might be traded before then but I doubt it. I wouldn't be wasting any prime draft capital unless we are trading for either a corner or 1T who we can lock up long term. Off Ball linebacker should the Bills decide to go that route could likely be had for a later pick. Plenty of veteran off ball linebackers in this league who could at the very least look confident. Poona Ford might give us what we are looking for. Dorian Williams might bloom over the next three weeks as he's handed more reps. Elam might surprise with the confidence of more playing time. We just don't know. My guess is we add a linebacker and a cheap corner. I personally would want a 1T as Jordan Phillips as shown he can't stay healthy and a veteran off ball linebacker.
  19. This brings joy. My biggest issue with our defense is watching top tier QB's laugh at our Tampa 2 defense as they march up and down the field on us. I dont mind giving up the odd big play against superior offenses when they'll inevitably score anyways after a 12 play drive. I'd rather risk some creativity and force turnovers and stops. It's been gut wrenching watching DeShaun Watson, Philip Rivers, Patrick Mahomes, Joe Burrow, and to some extent Skylar Thompson marching up and down on this soft zone defense. There has to be something said for a defense who let's QB's take easy throws and get in a throwing groove. Make them work for their receptions.
  20. Do pray tell who has a worse supporting cast than Allen out of Mahomes, Burrow, Hurts, Herbert, Dak, Tua, heck we can keep going. Allen has had to do far too much and its starting to catch up. How people cannot see this is beyond me? Brady had a far superior run game and offensive line, when compared to Josh Allen. Not to mention the Patriots defense knew how to stop opposing offenses in the playoffs. Meanwhile our defense folds like a cheap tent in the playoffs as we watch the Bengals and Chiefs inferior defenses find another 3 gears in the playoffs. It's nauseating how much this freaking team relies on Allen. I've see the Bengals, Patriots, and Chiefs win multiple playoff games when Burrow, Brady, and Mahomes are not on their A game. Bills have won playoff win you can credit the defense for. The Ravens game. That's it.
  21. Josh Allen goes to bed dreaming about Brady's oline during those Patriot Superbowl years. Josh Allen goes to bed dreaming about having those Patriot run games that weren't blown up 5 yards in the backfield and a successful run is gaining 1 yard. Our starting RB last year is a back up this year on a bottom three offensive roster... Josh Allen goes to sleep dreaming of having a 3rd receiver better than Isiah Mckenzie. A guy who couldn't even make the Colts roster. Another bottom 3 roster for offensive talent. Josh Allen goes to sleep dreaming of having better redzone threats than no separation off the line Gabe Davis, no recievers who can block to help the run game, Isiah Mckenzie as your third target being 5 foot 7 with no ability to beat a zone defense. Dawson Knox being forced to help Spencer Brown because Brown is consistently beat by undrafted rookies. Let's blame Josh Allen though. Tell me you can't analyze football, without telling me you can't analyze football.
  22. Miami might have closed the gap although their oline is worse than ours and their entire offseason seemed to be Ramsey and Fangio. One is gone. Will see what steps the offense takes in year two. I still say the Media was always hype large market teams and New York and Miami are two large markets. I personally think people are sleeping on the Patriots. That defense is the best in the division and will have competent coaching this season on the offensive side of the ball. Mac Jones just had to throw for 250 yards again and limit turnovers and that team is winning 10 games. One of New York or Miami is flaming out.
  23. My argument is our coaching strength is on the defensive side of the ball and we spend a lot more on that side than the Chiefs and Bengals. Our defense should be performing much better than it is come playoff time.
  24. The issue I have with this is the Bengals playoff win over the Chiefs was due to their defense fighting and keeping the game close while the offense struggled. Our defense doesn't even give our offense a chance to get in sync. Same with the Chiefs Superbowl victory over the Niners. The Chiefs defense fought tooth and nail to keep the Chiefs in it as their offense was out of sorts before exploding in the 4th quarter. The Bills defense has flat out just bombed out of the gate too many times. Now the offense is pressing and losing advantages that come with playing in a tight game. 2020 Texans loss was because the Bills sat back in soft zone and let Watson get in a groove and light them up. 2021 Colts and Chiefs had a field day with the defense. Allen played like a man on fire and single handedly beat the Colts. Chiefs were just too strong that season. - Ravens was a defensive win. The only defensive win we have seen during the Allen era. Thats unacceptable given our defensive coaching and cap space spent on the defensive side of the ball. 2022. Allen came to play and the defense predictably torched a rookie Mac Jones and floundered vs. Mahomes. How does it not frustrate Bills fans seeing the Jaguars and Bengals slow down Mahomes with inferior talent? 2023. Bills were just off. Don't need to get into the entire roster being out of sorts.
  25. Here good Sirs is what happens when your knowledge comes froming playing Madden and watch NBA analysts discussing football. Bengals made it to the Superbowl on the back of their defense. Not offense. Burrow threw for 1 td in each game vs. the Raiders, Titans, and Chiefs that run. It was their defense that beat the Chiefs not their offense. Patriots best offensive team ever lost in the Superbowl and they beat the Seahawks on a defensive play in the Superbowl. Beat the Rams due to their defense. Rams beat the Bengals due to their defense. Bucs destroyed the Chiefs with their defense. Steelers and Ravens won their Superbowls on the back of their defense. Colts only Superbowl is when the dline actually consistently came home on the pass rush. Saints defense tortured Manning in their Superbowl win. Broncos won because of their defense not Manning who could only throw the ball 10 yards. So basically the Chiefs are the only outlier and even they see a massive uptick in their defensive capability in the playoffs vs. their regular season performance.
