  1. I'm not a religious person but I pray sometimes all the same and wish all the best for you and your family. Be well. We're all pulling for your guys. 🙏 ❤️
  2. Also, this needs to be factored in: When you cut a guy, you have to replace him and his production. So let's Steph's prodcution is "only" worth $12 million at this point in his career. If we are already three million in the hole, signing a $12 million player to replace him means we're spending an extra $15 million to replace the production we would have had if we just kept him. So, it's not just about saving money — or even eating a bit extra because you really want a guy and his contract off your team — you have to factor in replacement costs too. That said, I'm possibly good if we do a post-June cut as @Mango said as we save a bunch this year and $5 million next. But even if we draft a stud #1 (no guarantees) are we gonna spend $8 or $10 or $12 million to find a capable number 2? Lots to consider.
  3. I'll watch — and pray for a Ravens win. I can't stand the Chiefs and all the Mahomes butt-licking that goes on and will be amplified if he makes his fourth Superbowl.
  4. https://www.buffalobills.com/video/greg-cosell-final-thoughts-on-bills-2023-season-offseason-needs Here is the video of the audio file the OP cited. 4:33 of the video: Greg Cosell: "Based on tape study, I don't think they truly have a number one and they certainly don't have a field stretcher. I think when you have Josh Allen you need to invest in your receiver corps.... Shakir's going to be a really good number 3 type, he's going to be really good for what he is but they need an alpha dog and they need speed. This offense is hamstrung in the pass game by what they're lacking. It shows up in almost every game."
  5. Shakir can eat in the slot. Draft a traits guy in the 1st. Diggs is the 1A guy first half of the season and rookie is 1B. Second half, rookie (hopefully) gets more comfortable and rookies becomes 1A and an aging Steff settles as the 1B guy.
  6. McBeane and Pegula want to win. There is no conspiracy behind this. But... McDermott has his philosophy on how to run a team and while I'm sure he works tirelessly but many of us don't believe he's got what it takes to consistently beat good teams in the playoffs. Pegula wants to win but I'm sure he's buying the narrative that were "so close and making progress" narrative. It's human nature to want to believe you're close to a goal rather than you need a substantive change. I for one hope McBeane brings us a championship in the next few years. But I'm not banking on it. I'd say they're both here three to four more years before Pegula fires Sean or both of them — if we don't at least make the Superbowl (I think making it and losing that final game will be enough to keep them longer). Firing Sean or both ain't happening next year but maybe two or three after if there's so Superbowl appearance. If that's the case, Josh will be 30 or 31 and still have a few elite years left but his 20s will be behind him.
  7. Very good regular season coach. Can build a culture of very goodness. Can win a lot of regular season games with many defensive backups filling in.
  8. Wanted to check this and yes, his salary hit is $5,480,000 with just $500,000 dead if cut. I can't see how a backup RB — even if he returns kicks — can make this money.
  9. Dumb. A top safety or even CB or DT or DE will NOT impact the Bills chance of winning as much as a stud WR on a 5-year rookie contract. Josh throwing to a big, fast young WR is the single biggest difference this team can make going forward. We lack a "dangerous" player on this team and this is the draft to get a dangerous WR in the first round. Draft a CB or safety in the second but not the first.
  10. I found that amusing: the coach at a end-of-season press conference telling the media how good the team has been for multiple seasons: "Good season overall. When you can have the success that we've had through six out of seven years in the playoffs I think is significant and hard to do, as well as four AFC East titles and now five-plus years of 10-plus wins is impressive and did not come easy." I'm surprised he didn't strain a muscle patting himself on the back so much. Maybe he wanted to help the press out by writing the story for them. Yes, quite defensive and if he's not feeling heat from somewhere I bet he expects to feel it burn soon if we don't do better next year.
  11. Notable defensive players who are 26 or younger: Elam: 22. Yes, he's not a starter but he's only 22. Maybe he can mature and turn it around. Dorian Williams: 22. Maybe in 2 or 3 years he can replace Milano and in the meantime be a higher-level backup. Benford: 23 Rousseau: 23 Bernard: 24 Oliver: 26 If we Elam can either turn into a starter or we draft a CB that can and a safety, I don't mind a veteran safety from the free-agent market. I think we're set for a while at LB. On the D-line, it would be nice to draft another starting tackle or end. And I'm good with paying Floyd (if the price is right) for one more year. Fine with 32-year-old Jones playing DT another year or maybe two. I know it looks bad, especially paying a 34-year-old what Von gets, but not in a horrible place if we can draft about 3 more starters in the next couple years.
  12. @DrDawkinstein Did the following work to summarize the Tompsett vid: "As a little preview, the detailed plan to get to $72M... No Brainers - Cap Saved Restructure Josh - $23M Restructure Diggs - $13M Restructure Ed - $3M Release Hines - $5M Release Harty - $4M Total - $48M Being $29M OVER cap right now, these moves alone put us $19M UNDER. Tompsett's Preferred/Likely Moves - Cap Savings Extend Dawkins - $7M Extend Douglas - $6M Extend Johnson - $5M Release Siran Neal - $3M Release Sam Martin - $1M Restructure McGovern - $3M With these moves added to the above, the Bills would be $44M UNDER Painful but Possible - Cap Savings Release Poyer - $5.5M Release Tre - $6M Bills now $56M UNDER Prefer Not - Cap Savings Restructure Milano - $2.5M Restructure Knox - $6M Trade Elam - $165k Release Bates - $1.5M Release Morse - $5.5M Bills now $72M UNDER I type all that to once again reiterate, the cap is a myth."
  13. Love has had a great year. And Purdy, the pundits say, is not a system QB but the real deal. Supposedly. Just saying the standard Josh is held to is really damn high. He's good to great most of the time but critics focus on his mistakes.
  14. Highly entertaining game but if Josh made the same throws either guy tonight has made, he'd be roasted.
  15. If Josh continues to play the way he did last week we've got a great shot. If he's throwing off of one foot to avoid a sack and across his body, that won't go well. Take what they give us, mix in the runs, be smart, throw it away instead of a high-risk throw.
  16. Felt supremely confident playing Pittsburgh. Now, not so much. Not saying I don't think we can win but with the injuries it's gonna be tough. If we do win, this will be the biggest Buffalo win I've ever seen, I think (fan since about 96).
  17. I see no need to insult Taylor... BUT... the second this game is out of reach for the Chiefs I would love the stadium to play her songs and torment Kelce and the Chiefs. But not until as it will be a horrible look if we actually lose.
  18. Fake fans coming on a fan board to bring up something petty (a rule that "should" exist but does not exist) after a big team win should be a 15-month ban.
  19. Shakir makes plays in the middle of the field and gets YAC. All I see Gabe do is make — sometimes — perimeter catches or go route catches. Yes, they matter but they happen too rarely. I want a guy like Shakir to catch it 12 yards up the middle and run hard for another 10.
  20. Longest QB run in the playoffs as a Bill too (2nd longest of all time).
  21. Pretty damn high. I expect a win. A loss would be shocking and massive cause for concern. If we win and don't get injured, all good.
  22. Mind-control mantras indeed! It's sickening how the league is trying to encourage people to have goodness and kindness in their hearts! Next thing you know, they'll want the players to waste their time with sick kids in hospitals!
