I just disagree about universities. our best universities are the best in the world. are there schools letting kids in who have no business at college? Yup. I taught an intro chem lab at a public university while a grad student. it had open admissions. There were kids who could convert fractions to decimals. but the best are the best... health care is run by big business. trump's kinda people. The HCA CEO who was convicted of medicare fraud rings a bell. Rick Scott anyone? You left off the environment which R's have consistently been insensitive to. trump is worse than most. Notice that climate change was not presented as a intelligence and security threat in the recent hearing on security risk in the house. The are always med students who wash out before the boards or eek thru and fail. This is not new. Despite the highly competitive admission process, some folks are just not up to it.

well, the environment is better. remember when rivers started on fire and all you could catch out of the niagara river was sheepheads. That was great. Salmon are better. Health care. huge advances in medicine. if we went to a single payer, that would be great. Public schools? Don't really know. you have an opportunity to make eat least one great. Universities are great now. Why are there so many top international students here. We compete with anyone in the higher ed field. Law firms? don't know but threatening those that are hired to prosecute those in power isn't great.

No. D's are absolutely correct in keeping this issue in Americans thoughts. R's are absolutely wrong in not admitting the seriousness of this event and pulling all levers to stop it from happening again.

As we watch social security get dismantled and lutnick tell us that only cheaters will be upset if they don't get a payment or 2, I think the plan is to make the system so bad that people will accept privatization.
