Week 6: Bills at CHIEFS 10/16 4:25pm

Correct x100. It’s the key to the game. It’s not getting stops against Mahomes. That’s not happening. It’s all about keeping up with him and that’s both (a) keeping josh upright to hit the big plays and (b) running the ball some at least to keep it away from Mahomes. -

#4 is key. The raiders beat the chiefs deep last night but mostly because they can run the ball. We simply can’t run the ball so expect KC to play with deep coverage to stop josh from hitting Gabe. Have to be able to run some against the light boxes we are going to see. -

Some keys: 1. Frazier has to change things up. We can’t just play soft zone every time against these bums. Mahomes is just too good. The numbers say don’t blitz Mahomes but we need a wrinkle here and there. That said, we specifically paid Von to play in this game. Brown struggled last night against the speed of Chandler Jones, so Von needs to have the same impact. 2. I don’t expect us to stop Mahomes much at all based on Fraziers track record against him. And Mahomes seems bored in most games but his eyes light up when it’s josh Allen on the other side. Because of that, we have to win a shootout in my opinion. This game will be won if Josh plays incredible again. The raiders showed the KC secondary is vulnerable so need to take advantage. 3. Chris Jones in an absolute problem. Frank Clark too. They’ll get a sack or 2, but just can’t let those be strip sacks that give Mahomes a short field. 4. A sneaky thing but Chavarious Ward is luckily gone now. He’s wrapped Diggs up the last few times and seems to be Diggs kryptonite with how handsy he is. Diggs needs to show up this time. He only had 3 catches for 7 yards in the divisional game in January. Hopefully ward being gone helps with that. The offense just works so much better when 14 is involved. 5. chiefs ran the ball all over Tampa, so can we slow them down? They’ll want to run the ball to keep it from josh. Gotta man up and stop them and get josh the ball as much as possible. 6. same is true for us also. We will see light boxes. Can we run the ball enough to keep the ball away from Mahomes? -
If kc hadn’t already proven they can torch our soft zone defense time and again, maybe I’d feel different. Or maybe you haven’t watched us play them. Josh has to score every possession to keep up
-
Exactly. Chiefs can run the ball like they did against Tampa. We can’t run it
-
Agree. But just saying josh has to be like the AfC divisional round good again for us to compete
-
But we play soft zone. Always bend but don’t break style. Nothing exotic and that’s why Mahomes feasts on it. Kelce will sit in the open spots of the zones all night long. When Mahomes is rolling, no one can stop him, especially when you continue to play soft like Frazier. You have to somehow outscore them
-
He’s right
-
Chiefs are literally impossible to stop if they’re engaged and motivated. You have to score every possession to beat them because you can’t stop them. No elite receivers other than kelce but it doesn’t matter when Mahomes is on. If Von doesn’t make a few key plays, josh will have to be other worldly again.
-
Chiefs just flip a switch whenever the hell they literallly feel like it. I’m so sick of them. HATE kelce so damn much and I’m already dreading his 2 TDs next week lol
-
Yeah but he literally never plays. We play nickel it feels like 99% of the time. We picked someone who’s never going to see the field instead of protecting josh
-
Tough watching Dylan Parham crushing it on the offensive line for LV. Should’ve been our 3rd round pick. Instead reached and wasted a pick on Bernard
-
Bengals bleeding the clock out perfectly just like we did. Lamar not even going to have time to get tucker into FG range

As usual, 3rd and long and the defense will give up first down after first down -
10/9/22 Gameday Steelers at Bills Pregame Thread

Seems everyone is starting to feel the concerns I’ve been feeling all week. Unfortunate for us the Steelers didn’t stick with Trubisky. Pickett is willing to chuck it up to his playmakers and the Steelers have lots of those. Concerning with so many question marks in our secondary. Encouraging though that the D line seems to be healthy so have to get pressure plus slow down Najee. On offense I don’t know what we do with Cam Heyward. Might have to double him so he doesn’t single-handedly wreck the game like last year. Can’t lose sight of Highsmith too, dude is a stud. We will need to score points early to keep the pressure on Pickett to keep up so gotta avoid the sacks and potential strip sacks to give Pickett the short field. 14 point spread is way too high. And this team is just way too focused as an organization on the chiefs in terms of letting guys rest for next week. Add in the Tomlin coaching factor where he’ll have his guys ready, I say we squeeze out a tough one. 30-27 Bills -
Exactly what I’m saying. Nfc is a damn dumpster fire. You betting on 45 year old Brady? Did you watch hurts in the playoffs last year? Lol. Please. Niners have best D in the league and Jimmy is competent enough. They’ve been there once with him already. Just remember I said it
-
Niners are going to the super bowl in my opinion so I watch their games trying to watch how we match up in case we get their too. Hate the idea of trying to stop their run game and tackle deebo and their defense is incredible and opportunistic. Plus our o line can’t stop bosa so it would be tough. ***** on Jimmy but he wins and runs that offense to perfection
