Crazy we can’t just get Josh one receiver that can get open consistently.

I see your point but in both scenarios, the assumption is Josh is going to score most likely. Knowing that, id rather not play the defense that’s going to allow for those 10+ play drives where we play soft coverage. That’s all well and good against Mac Jones. But we are in the AFC, home of the elite QBs in the playoffs. Playing pitch and catch against soft coverage is easy for the likes of Mahomes and Burrow. Gotta be aggressive and throw then different looks to force a few stops and get Josh the ball back.

Perfectly stated. It’s why McDermotts style has never made sense to pair with Josh. The whole point of having the best QB in the league is for him to have the ball and go to work. Not standing on the sidelines while your boring defense can’t rush the passer and continues to convert 3rd and longs to keep the ball away from you. Detroit has it figured out. Put pressure on the other team with your defense. If they give up a big play, that’s ok, your offense will get it back. More times than not, your agressive D will force the other QB to be uncomfortable and you’ll get the ball back to your offense. Instead McDermott is content with his boring defense and having Josh sit on the sidelines for a while. That only forces pressure on Josh to be perfect when he gets the ball too. Would be nice to see a change before it’s too late.

Potentially a HOF career wasted too. Hopefully Josh brings his A game today.

They could be 13-0. Deep down we know McDermott is going to cost us in big spots and that’s what sucks.

McDermott has to go at some point. Problem is Josh is too good so he’ll keep his job. Just sad we are wasting Josh on McDermott.

It was obvious they’d go for it either way. So you can’t line up on 3rd and 15 and just gift them 10 yards and it burned off more time too. He can’t ever read the room.

It’s the coaching mismatch for me. Shanahan is up there with Reid as far as play calling and has been to two 2 SBs. I’ve been outspoken about my lack of faith in McDermott. I’m worried it could get ugly tonight

Said it earlier this week that purdy is playing and to take the 6.5 points but everyone laughed at me. The Niners said as much but noone on here wanted to listen.

This is why I’m also cool with predicting the Niners to win. Purdy will play. Bosa too. We don’t match up with physical teams and any snow will only wallow us down

Fine, I’ll be the one to do it. Niners 24 bills 17. Purdy and Bosa are playing. Ward might even be back. If Trent Williams plays then that’s not good either. Until we prove we can beat a tough physical team that wants to pound the ball, I don’t like those matchups for us. Kittle is playing like the best TE in football too. Its up to Josh to keep the ball out of purdy and Shanahans hands

This. They could essily be tied for 1st in their division if they beat us Sunday. If they get in fully healthy, I’d still feel good about them making the SB. That might sound dumb, but the lions are the only decent nfc team. No I don’t trust the eagles with hurts as qb. They’re not consistent enough. Even the lions are a little flimsy with Goff as their qb. Take away play action and he’s god awful.

I guess Vegas doesn’t think purdy is playing despite everything coming out of SF saying that he is going to play. If he’s playing, that spread really should be at about 2.5 or 3. Esoecially since it’s likely that Bosa, Trent Williams and Chavarius Ward will all be back. Greenlaw started practicing again too. If he plays, that’s a tough break for us since Devondre Campbell is the guy I’d hope the bills could pick on. He’s been garbage all year. Again this all comes down to Josh and this offense keeping the ball away from Shanahan and hopefully getting an early lead so they can’t pound us into the ground all game. If Brandon Allen starts, then get up early and force him to have to make plays. With the bad weather this feels like a late FG might win it though.

I have a good amount of money I put on them to win it all at the start of the season before all the injuries happened.

Purdy is playing though, the Niners have said as much already. They’re a game out of being tied for 1st in their division. 6.5 points is insane to me. Like a full 3.5 points off. Maybe 4.5 points. Average fan will bet the bills based on the records and purdy potentially still in pain. But this isn’t a matchup I look at and say Bills should be favored by anything more than 2.5 points, even at home.

No nothing significant. This game is on josh and the offense in my opinion. SF defense has been weaker than usual this year but they’re likely to get Bosa and Ward back this week. Not sure on Greenlaw. Either way, they have to keep the ball away from Shanahan and that offense. Like the ravens game, they’re a bad matchup for us with all those weapons especially kittle. Plus they love to pound the rock, something I still don’t trust us stopping. 6 point spread is crazy to me if purdy, Trent Williams, Bosa and Ward are all back.

Spread at 3.5 to start. Seems fair. Purdy will be back, so will Bosa and Trent Williams. They’re only a game out of 1st in their division. They have more talent than us. But Josh should be able to move the ball on them enough I hope. *Edited, spread is 6. I’d expect that to come down*
