Are we figured out already? The issues as I see them
Billz4ever replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think it's a combination of a bad receiver room and predictable play calls. I'd rather have the Brady that took over for Dorsey rather than this year's version. Seems like he's trying to be too cute at times and goes back to plays that haven't really worked much at all anyway. -
Worst (regular season) coached game in the entire McD era

As he said it's almost like they didn't know the score. They were running plays indicative of what you'd expect if they were losing. Absolute headscratcher. -

OK, let's go with that. Josh was terrible. So why would you want him throwing out of his own endzone given all the risks then? Tipped ball, holding in EZ, sack, you name it. Those are high risk plays, especially when your QB is 9 for 30 on the day. We ran for 150 yds today. If nothing else, run on first and second down get a few yards, maybe break one for a first down, who knows. Low risk plays, force timeouts. On third down, play action, roll Josh out, let him throw a short pass or even just run for the first. What we saw was just bad. -

That's assuming those runs do nothing and everything else is the same. Josh had NINE completions on the day. NINE. I would have more confidence in the running game picking up a first than throwing, plus throwing that deep in your own end are much risker plays. Tipped balls, holding in the EZ, sack, etc. -
I don't really see the silver lining. Coaching is simply not there. Bad penalties, bad playcalling, bad clock management, bad receivers, Josh looking off. I don't have confidence we even beat the Jets next week.

This is the sad reality, folks. -

A loss to the Jets next week is definitely in the cards if they play and coach like this yet again. -

Can't wait to hear the excuses from this coaching staff for 3 straight passes from the 3 when you're just trying to get to OT. -

16 second possession from this offense. Can't even get it to overtime. Absolutely clueless coaching. -

Between stupid penalties and a lateral pass offense, it seems like we're always in 3rd and long. -

Aren't we paying a guy to look at these plays to potentially challenge? -

Miami is irrelevant. We have a problem, in fact, multiple problems. -

This game is getting out of hand quickly just like last week and it's not because the other team is so good. The Bills defense is awful (injuries obviously have a lot to do with that) and the offense can't find their identity. We show the ability to run then abandon it. -

Me personally, I'd like to see Solomon in there on passing downs rather than AJ. If we can't get a push up front, we at least need to try for force the opposing QB out of the pocket or step up into it by getting pressure off the edge. -
So far WR group looks like a dumpster fire
Billz4ever replied to Ethan in Cleveland's topic in The Stadium Wall
Definitely a headscratcher why we paid him that money to only be used in the role he is unless the staff thinks he's not living up to expectations in practice, which I don't believe is the case or else he wouldn't be playing at all. -

Yep, and it's getting irritating to watch at times, especially when it's not working like last night. Those plays are basically like run plays and help keep the defense honest, not necessarily to be run over, and over, and over. They should help open up the intermediate passing game, which from what I saw last night, wasn't used much, and when it was, it was either covered or Josh was facing pressure and they were in the scramble drill. -

He is a good receiver. It seems like we are trying to shoehorn him into a gadget roll like McKenzie instead of what everyone thought he was being brought in for and what was repeatedly talked about by the front office. -

There's no benefit to keeping a guy around to be a locker room cancer who doesn't want to be there. The passing game was perfectly fine until last night, where questionable play calling and good defensive scheming had blitzers repeatedly almost unblocked or completely unblocked in Josh's face most of the night. Diggs is not coming through that door and you're going to have a tough time explaining how he makes much of a difference anyway based on his play the entire second half of last season, when we were winning without him doing much of anything. It was abundantly clear he was not a major cog in Brady's offense and not sure how that would be any different this season if he was still here just getting mad he's not getting the ball. -

Diggs had 1 touchdown over the last 8 games and two over the last 10 last year. Went the last 11 games of last season without a 100-yard game, 6 of the last 8 games with 4 catches or less. Crazy how some people have a much different memory of how last season went. -

That's the problem. Who? This is something they should've done in the off season, but of course, they acted like it would work itself out and now here we are.
