Oh, this is going be one of those conversations where you ask questions that nobody is disputing. Question...if they haven't called it all night and are letting them play, should they then throw a flag on a weak holding call that would decide the game?

If they can overlook those, they should reamain consistent with how they're calling the game. DBs had their hands all over receivers all night downfield on both sides and how many calls did you see?

When you're talking about a guy that has had over 100 catches in each of the last 3 seasons and four of the last 5, 250 more isn't far off at all, especially when one guy played 16 years and the other has played 8. Diggs only needs to average 83 catches over the next 3 years to pass Reed in 11 seasons.

And why shouldn't he have that expectation? They let it slide all night long, but decide to throw the flag when it literally decided the game. You either call a tight game from the opening kick, or you let them play. Pick one.

But whether someone is in the HOF or not has no bearing when you're talking on a season basis. Of course Allen isn't in the HOF discussion yet, since he's only played 5 years, but Allen has already broken numerous Kelly records. Kelly is in the HOF based on the totality of his career. But simply talking in terms of who's better? I don't think there's really any question that Allen is more talented than Kelly. What do you think Allen would be capable of on those Bills teams that had a good O-line and had a legit running game? The HOF should have no bearing on this discussion. Same as bringing that up in a discussion of Reed vs Diggs. Reed never had a 100-ball season. Diggs has 4, including 3 straight and 4 of the last 5. Reed played 16 seasons. Diggs just completed his eighth and is only 248 catches behind him. Diggs can be reasonably expected to pass Reed in another 2 and 1/2 seasons. Reed had 87 career TDs. Diggs is at 59. Again, at current pace, is on path to pass Reed in 2 and 1/2 seasons. Does the HOF have any bearing here? No, not IMO. Sounds to me like you can't follow any logic. Maybe pre-school is more your speed.

Want to know how you can't just blame the turnovers on Josh and that the line has culpability here too? Josh took 33 sacks this year vs 26 each of the 2 previous seasons. The line was clearly an issue. Josh will own them all and he repeatedly says they're on him, but the line cannot be overlooked.

By the end of the season, it seemed like the offense had completely abandoned the short passing game completely in favor of those slow-developing drop-backs and when you have a subpar O-line, that's not a good recipe. I don't understand how they saw any logic in that.

And you would think those are the types of higher percentage plays that Dorsey would be drawing up, whether it's for a TD or just to keep the chains moving. Nope, the short game all but completely disappeared by the end of the season. It was feast or famine.

Philly only allowed the Chiefs 7 offensive points in the first half, so they were doing a decent job. It fell apart in the second half. Reid made adjustments and Mahomes was getting rid of the ball quickly, so sacks weren't going to happen. With the points and the offense we saw in this game, it should be crystal clear that no matter how good the defense, the great offenses of today are going to score. Which brings us to the Hurts fumble. While not obvious when it happened, was a huge factor. But regardless, refs should not be injecting themselves into a play like that unless they've been calling a tight game from the start.

And they had let those same type of plays slide literally the entire game until then. That's the point. You're either going to call a tight game, or you're going to let them play. If you're not going to call it the rest of the game, you certainly shouldn't be calling it when it will literally decide the game. Refs must be consistent. It was a very weak call.

On the TD to Skyy Moore, the Eagles blitzed up the middle and the Chiefs had the perfect counter called. The blitz came and Mahomes simply tossed it to a wide-open Moore.

It didn't stop him momentum. What stopped his momentum was the receiver himself since he was going to turn it up field. The spilt second grab of the jersey never impeded the receiver from getting up field. How could it? The pull is in the direction he was going to be going.

If I remember, Allen's explanation for that was the rusher at the top of the screen that was being blocked and later broke free to get closer to Allen blocked his view and he never saw the defender there. Either way, yeah, not a good ball. He should've recognized the coverage.

True, but that game also showed that you don't even need great receivers to beat a good defense. You just need good play calling, good blocking up front, and a QB that can deliver the ball on time and the defense is going to have a hard time stopping you no matter what they do. That's how the league is designed these days.

Yep, we can claim Josh isn't on a level playing field with guys like Mahomes, but the Bills really have no one to blame for that besides themselves. I'm hoping after watching this Super Bowl in particular, the lightbulb comes on and they figure out that it's the offense that matters most in today's NFL.

The odd makers must have confidence that the FO makes the necessary moves this offseason to make that possible. I certainly hope they're right. I'm looking forward to the draft, but also dreading it at the same time.

And my worry is our defensive-minded HC will never figure that out.
