Poor coaching by McDermott is becoming a theme

But this ignores the point that poor coaching decisions put us in the position to need a last minute score. - QB sneak at the goal line and we likely don’t need a last minute score - Don’t waste a timeout on a PUNT and we likely have another 3 points (field goal before half time) etc I also have a hard time blaming the linemen at that point of the game. They were exhausted. -

Keep in mind that Allen was something like 95% on QB sneaks before our coaching decided to stop calling it. -
I still think it was a catch. Though I do agree it likely wouldn’t be overturned. That being said, I would be okay with a lost challenge in that situation. That was a 15+ play drive. The offense was exhausted. A nice extended timeout via challenge would have been great there. As it was, McDermott ended up using a timeout of the next drive, on a random first down, near mid-field(ish). Much rather have the timeout via challenge on a long drive near the endzone, when players could barely stand up. .

One might say Beane is a blessing to this franchise more than McDermott. What coach would NOT win with the talent on this roster? -
Singletary was averaging 1 yard per carry. You wanted more of that!?

Im more surprised that McKenzie didn’t have the knowledge/coaching/wherewithal(lol) to go down quickly so we could spike it. A long field goal is better than none at all.

Can you point out exactly what is “lazy” about this thread? -
Benford left with a hand injury.

You may want to research logical fallacies. Hacket being worse doesn’t make McDermott good. -

Wow, totally forgot about that timeout before the punt. What in the world was that about. -

Let’s talk about what-if it wasn’t overturned. Would that have been the worse thing? The players were exhausted, it was about to be third down, we need to get in the endzone - would the extended timeout have been good despite the chance they lose the challenge? Perhaps more fitting than calling timeout on the next drive on a random mid-field(ish) first down! -
For the last year and a half? haha

Yes, i’ve noticed that too and wrote a bit about it in my McDermott thread.

So one more toe tap makes up for an act common to the game? This all seems so ridiculous. -

What a time to be alive. Anyone who has an opinion different than your own is a “troll”. -

So Gabe simply needed to take one more mini step and then drop it? -

I’m in the car, but if memory serves correctly it shows exactly that. Player toe taps, takes one step out of bounds and throws it at refs. I remember thinking it was odd. That’s why I was setting you up. -
Says who? Some of the best coaches in history could not control their emotions at times. From Harbaugh having to be held back from the refs to Belichick throwing an ipad at his bench.

And there it is. Yet this just happened 2 years ago and it was ruled a catch. I’ll get the footage when I’m home. I do understand. Not sure that others do, though. -

“Control” can’t be an act common to the game since it is another named section (A/B). Gabe had control and 2 feet down. So if he toe taps, then immediately tosses it to the ref… incomplete? (i’m setting you up) -
I loved that. Absolutley loved that. Wish McD showed a tenth of that passion.
