  1. Those 3 games are worth more than the 50 games. Belichick isnt considered the greatest coach of all time because he won a bunch of regular season games. Its those hands covered in diamond studded SB rings that did that.
  2. Yeah that one still stings. There were people on this very forum that knew Creed was going to be a stud.
  3. Yeah I think a lot of people are afraid of a new coach because they fear they might be worse than what we have now. They could be, but they also could be better. In addition to your examples of Dungy and Reid, the Patriots fired Pete Caroll who had a winning record and 3 playoff games with them... to hire Bill Belichick. The 49ers also fired a multiple NFCCG and SB coach... and now they have one of the brightest minds in the game today who has had them in 3 of the last 4 NFC Championship games.
  4. I'm aware. We all know what happened. The point was that the leaders of the team did not have the foresight to see these things coming. That's, again, the point. The best NFL coaches and executives "see the future" so to speak. You don't get a lot of money because you see the obvious. You don't become a hall-of-fame GM or coach because you pick or keep players after they're already studs. You become the legend by being so good at your job that you know who to cut or trade when, and know it won't bite you in the butt. Why not? Did we try? We didn't cut him, his contract was just up. Did we try to sign him for a similar number? I don't know.
  5. I'm not either. But its either scheme (coaching) or players. Those are the only two options. And both come down to McD/Beane, whether they don't have the right players, or the right scheme. Watching Cinci these last two playoff runs have been impressive. Their D is not as good as ours in the regular season, but come playoff time they just go wild. And the top-tier offenses (like KC and the Rams last year) don't seem to phase them.
  6. I feel like "debacle" (even though its not technically the definition) gives the feeling of fluke or "wont happen again". But it does keep happening again. - The infamous Deshaun Watson non-sack that lost the Texans playoff game - 13 seconds - Playing 10 yards off WR's on 3rd and 4 and generally getting abused all game against Cinci. This is no longer a fluke or momentary lapse. This is a habit. This is a trend. This is the "norm" for playoff Bills defense I think a lot of us are tired of hearing about how well the Bills defense does in the regular season when they are just going to crap the bed in the playoffs. We have given up 27 or more points in 3 straight playoff games. We have given up at least 24 points in 5 of the last 7 playoff games. Its great that the defense performs well in the regular season but what does it matter if they consistently crap the bed in the deep playoffs? Frustrating. .
  7. I just don't think firing Frazier will do anything. This is McD's defense. (Ask a Carolina fan)
  8. Sorry but you're not going to twist my words and use this odd logic to get me into a debate. I never said he was a #2. Daboll signed Hodgins to his 53 man roster. We kept him on the PS. Daboll started Hodgins. We (even when activated) barely let him see the field. Daboll saw Hodgins as a #3. We saw him as a #5 or #6. And im not sure if you noticed, but with Kumerow on IR, Crowder on IR, and Davis limping with his ankle... we were just as thin at WR. I don't really know what to make of the Bills talent recognition and scouting in general right now. We have a good roster, but we also have an All-Pro Guard in Cleveland that was on our team, a starting WR in NY that was on our team, Hughes had a stellar year in Houston (9 sacks, 10 QB hits, 2 Forced Fumbles, 10 tackles for loss), we signed castoff O-linemen, and we let go of Beasley, Klein and Brown just to bring them right back mid-season.
  9. I think I may head to *gag* root for KC. Cinci's cockiness is horrendous.
  10. The clause IS in the lease agreement. It’s there, so they’ve definitely thought about it. It’s just smaller than most cities. There is no downside to lengthening it.
  11. So what is the downside to doing them now? Putting them in the lease agreement?
  12. Im guessing you didn’t read the article I linked. Written by an attorney. I’m also still wondering. What is the downside? What is the negative to adding better preventative measures? What could it hurt?
  13. I don’t read it as a scare attempt. I read it as “hey, we should fix this before it becomes a problem”. Put another way - What is the downside to adding better preventative measures? What could it hurt?
  14. That’s very hard to do because of inheritance tax. His daughter would have to pay in excess of $1 Billion. That’s why most teams aren’t handed down to the kids. Based on what? Not sure if you remember, but it was discussed at that time that the clause Ralph put in did not actually protect the team. It just said the team couldn’t be sold to someone who admitted they planned to move the team. The new owner could simply say they have no intention to move, buy the team, and then still move them after a few years. It was discussed in length here: https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2014/04/29/newly-discovered-term-in-bills-lease-doesnt-really-change-anything/amp/ Thats why the BEST preventive measure is to add a costly countermeasure to moving.
  15. Based on what would it never happen? You don’t think the Pegula’s could pass away in 20 years and the new owners wouldn’t move the team? Why?
  16. Okay so you just don’t like the topic. I just read the article and there is nothing “hack” about it. They even had an economics professor review the lease and he said it was weak.
  17. The problem is that they saw Hodgins as a #5 WR in the first place. Whereas Daboll saw Hodgins as a #3 WR. So yeah, the Bills weren’t wrong for cutting a #5 WR for a ST starter. They were wrong for thinking so low of Hodgins in the first place.
  18. I didnt read the article. What is trash about it? Did they write incorrect things?
  19. - KC has been to FIVE straight AFC Championship Games. - CInci has been to TWO straight AFC Championship Games and is one game away from TWO straight Super Bowls. And Cinci rebuilt in WAY less time. I don't think its overreacting to say we are falling behind. .
  20. I hope you’re right my friend. That’s what i’m rooting for too.
  21. 4.47 actually. Which is closer to 4.5 than 4.4 but that wouldn’t fit your narrative. 4.47 is slow for a CB. That was always the knock on Tre coming out - he wasn’t super fast. To put it into perspective, if he was in last years (2022) draft, he would have been the 16th fastest CB. Only 5 ran slower - 3 of those went undrafted and 1 was drafted in the 7th round. Getting older and having an ACL injury at one point isn’t relevant to his future play? Er, ok. Studies disagree.
  22. A CB, who was never a speedster, turning 29 next season, coming off of an ACL injury…. I wouldn’t expect him to ever be the Tre we knew again.
  23. Wow that’s a lot of excuses and history washing.
  24. We had a healthy defense last playoffs when KC shredded them. I know I can’t speak for everyone, but as for myself, i’m tired of hearing how good the defense is ranked during the season just for them to get smacked in the playoffs. Giving up 31 points to Skylar Thompson and then getting bullied by the Bengals? Hard for me to care about regular season accolades.
  25. They're not even good right now. Every postseason under this current regime has been a defensive failure. Once is luck. Twice is circumstance. Three or more times is a habit.
