Im trying to stay positive but it’s hard. If we had just lost the game, I’d feel more hopeful. But we lost a lot more than that. We aren’t bringing home a healthy team to fight on. From now on we go to battle without our all-star CB that was starting to round back into form. Without our all-star LB who now has a broken leg. Without our high level DT, who likely has a torn pec. With our hall-of-fame DE on a pitch count.

Those stats are counting ALL deep throws. Including covered deep throws, jump ball deep throws, passes that should have been called pass interference deep throws, etc. Throws to wide open receivers would be a much much much higher completion rate.

It really is most of them. The Titans game last year is one where he hit him in stride.

For the season, the Jags give up twice the amount of yards per play against 11 personnel than 12.

Losing Jones may be as impactful as losing Milano. Losing both is close to worst case scenario in my opinion.

Why weren’t the Bills allowed to play on the grass?
Einstein replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall
Thats what I was guessing but I don’t know much about that domain so I didn’t want to sound like an idiot. -
That’s kind of a misrepresentation of todays offensive performance though. Nearly half (43%) of the offenses total yardage came in the last 3 minutes and 41 seconds of the game. For the vast majority of the game, we could not move the ball. Our drives prior to those final 3 minutes were: Punt Punt Punt Punt Touchdown Punt Punt Interception .

Kaiir Elam is a liability any time he is on the field
Einstein replied to Einstein's topic in The Stadium Wall
That’s expected in my opinion. Hyde is a safety, not a corner, and doesn’t have the speed to keep up with Ridley. McDermott had benched Elam by that point and went Cover 0. -

Not sure if it's OK for me to say this...but Poyer is toast

He looked a step slow last season. He looks 3 steps slow this season. One of my favorite Bills ever but his prime is behind him. Thank you for your service Po.- 52 replies

Jacksonville didn’t seem to have any injury issues on it. Reminds me of the Bengals playoffs game where we were slipping and sliding all over the place but the Bengals ran just fine.- 60 replies

We got VERY little pass rush today. Rousseou was out, but Von Miller was in. Perhaps PFF picked up on something through 4 weeks that some of us hadn’t.

Aimee, no one said Josh was the problem and you would be hard pressed to find a bigger Allen fan than me. Talking about two underthrown passes does not mean anyone is hating on the man.
-
I actually don’t remember. Was he under pressure on those two throws? I took screenshots mid game.

This is not an Allen bashing thread. Please don’t turn it into one. This is a thread to talk about Allen’s tendency to underthrow this season. In this particular game, Diggs torched his defender twice, deep, and I believe that there is a good chance that both would have been TD’s if the pass hit him in stride. On both plays, Allen underthrew him, causing Diggs to stop running or slow down drastically. He has had a couple other underthrown deep passes this season - mostly on deep throws. I’m curious what you think is causing these underthrows: Do you think Allen is under-estimating how far he needs to throw it? Is it simply too far to throw? Is he not stepping into the passes? What are your thoughts? This was the INT (Diggs had several steps on the defender). And this was the deep completion to Diggs where no one covered him (he would have walked into the endzone if the ball hit him in stride).

I was going to ask you what you thought of our WR’s reaction to defensive leverage in this game. Sure seemed like from the broadcast that everyone outside of Diggs was in bad leverage situations and was part of the reason why the offense struggled in the first half. -

Ridley last week: 2 receptions for 32 yards Ridley the previous week: 3 receptions for 40 yards Ridley the previous previous week: 2 receptions for 38 yards Ridley is a good player but let’s not pretend he is some unstoppable force. I am confident that Tre or Benford would not have allowed the game Ridley had today. Sure, there may be bigger takeaways. So go post in threads that discuss those. Why hijack a thread talking about one problem to repeatedly say “but there are other problems tooooo”? -

This play sums up Elam today. -

Nothing in the OP claimed that Elam is why we lost. You made that up. But he was certainly part of the reason. As were others. -
He was routinely targeted, routinely beat, and routinely frustrated. Some fans thought he was a healthy scratch in previous games simply because Benford is better. Yeah, Benford is better… but Elam is also a bad player. They’re not mutually exclusive.

I think this makes McDermott 1-3 against Jacksonville.

I never blame refs, but something is weird with these refs today.
