  1. If you are under the impression that anyone believes that God physically reached down his hand to write the Bible on paper, you are mistaken. What the faiths believe is that God inspired man to write what he wanted written. Therefore, Paul writing social declarations is irrelevant - as it would be God telling him what to write.
  2. Person A: "I am an Atheist, but I believe in God" Person B: "How is that possible?" Person A: "You're imposing!" huh?
  3. Agreed. The very foundation of Christianity crumbles if you start from a reference point where the Bible is not the Word of God. With that as a foundation, who decides what is the Word of God and what is not? Who is the authority on what chapters or verses are Deity written and what are man written? Who is to say that all the parts including Christ are not the man-made portions? Which then would negate the entire "Christ" part of "Christianity" leaving only "anity". The idea that we can conclude that the Bible is not Gods word but then believe in Christ is nonsensical. It is akin to saying that one can believes in the integrity of a building while simultaneously asserting that its foundation is made of sand There is no sect of Christianity that can believe the Bible is not the Word of God, because without doing so, there is no Christianity. I'm sure there are plenty of false preachers who teach this nonsense however.
  4. What is truly fascinating is that the vast majority (80%) of newly minted trans people are from the United States. It's almost as if the media/culture proliferates the desire. Of course, we are just now starting to see the pendulum swing the other way, with many of these children realizing later in life that they were never trans. Dr. Michael Irwig, a board certified endocrinologist and Harvard faculty member predicted this, stating: “There is reason to believe that the numbers of detransitioners may increase. It is quite possible that low reported rates of detransition and regret in previous populations will no longer apply to current populations,” Even outspoken trans advocates, such as trans-psychologist Erica Anderson (who herself is trans), has begun to postulate the reason, stating: “A fair number of kids are getting into it because it’s trendy... I think in our haste to be supportive, we’re missing that element. I have these private thoughts: ‘This has gone too far. It’s going to get worse. I don’t want any part of it," Here is a good article on that: https://www.nytimes.com/2024/02/02/opinion/transgender-children-gender-dysphoria.html
  5. Good point, but this is quite the renovation. It's not just adding a canopy to the stadium - they are physically altering the stadium itself as well. They're literally Literally ripping all 4 corners of the stadium out. Widening the concourses. Brand new bathrooms (while adding 12 more), escalators, elevators. Removing entire sections. All seating changed. All new concessions. Probably as close to a rebuild as you could get while it still being a renovation.
  6. I can’t believe this is not a primetime night game
  7. Incredibly impressive renovation if thats the case.
  8. You've gotta be kidding me. It actually looks like a futuristic stadium too. Not like a Macy's.
  9. The lower bowl is awful IMO. Fairly flat, the curve of the field disorients people in row 10 and less, and everyone stands the entire game. Personally, I find the lower bowl a miserable experience.
  10. Exceptions to the rule do not change the rule.
  11. For at least a few months i’ll be able to dream of KC starting 0-2 and then having 9 of their next 15 games on the road.
  12. At least it’s at night. Negates the sideline shade issue.
  13. The Chiefs playoff game a couple months ago was the first time McD has challenged twice in one game since 2019. One time... in 4 seasons. He rarely ever challenges. He challenged 6 total times last season (in 19 games). And he has only challenged 33 times ever in his 125 games coached for the Bills. Challenging twice in 1 game? Pfft. Better chance of getting struck by lightning. So IF he was ever burning timeouts as to avoid wasting a challenge, that is monumentally stupid. Not only does it create the potential of you losing two (2) timeouts if you end up losing the eventual challenge, but it also means that he wasn't aware of his own pattern of rarely ever challenging twice in one game (or even once!)
  14. I just mean I disagree with McDermott a lot, so its only fair to point out times when he does things that I believe are wise as well. This is one of them. I don't blame you for being skeptical. This is the first time any team has ever done this - We are trend setting and therefore entering unchartered territories. None of us know for sure how it will work out but I'm hopeful!
  15. He did it once in 2018 or 2019 if I recall correctly, and then he got (rightfully so) bashed pretty bad after the time he did in 2021 and then I never saw him do it again. I think he learned his lesson. But my point is simply that I hope having Parry on staff provides a seasoned voice of reason for McD. McD is a great coach in many aspects but game handling is not his strong suit and I think having Parry on staff could be a great benefit for us.
  16. This makes sense in a vacuum where timeouts don't exist. But in the NFL, timeouts are far more valuable than challenges. Which is why it costs you a timeout if you fail a challenge. That is the disincentive to not challenge. PS, take a guess at how many times McDermott has had 2 challenges in one game in his entire 7 year Bills career? To McDermott's credit, he agrees with me. He *never* made that mistake again (calling a timeout before a challenge) after he did in 2021.
  17. Thats awesome! The team who hired him hadn’t been released when I posted this thread. Absolutely love this decision by the Bills. Great decision by McDermott and company. They saw that we were deficient in something and went out to find ways to improve it. Kudos to McD and all involved in this decision. Nothing wrong with getting help in areas that you need it.
  18. Thats just a terrible reason to take a timeout. The challenge is a timeout if you lose. Just challenge it. The only risk is running out of challenges - but go ahead and take a guess at how many times McDermott has had 2 challenges in one game in his entire 7 year Bills career.
  19. This is an interesting idea by whichever NFL team hired him. John Parry will now be part of the teams crew that tells the Head Coach when to review a play and when not to. I love when teams do innovative things like this. “Officials look at the game so differently than players, coaches, and fans,” Parry said. “So to have somebody up [in the booth]: Hey, this is the mechanic, this is why that person made that call. And no matter what happens to this replay, if they flip it, here’s where the ball will be spotted. Here’s the down in distance. The clock’s gonna start in the ready for play, or it’s a 10-second runoff, so you could take a timeout. So you better start thinking about that, will you take one? Will you not?” https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/rules-analyst-john-parry-leaves-espn-takes-job-with-an-unnamed-team To be honest, I believe a hire like this could really help someone like McDermott, who in the past has taken a timeout right before challenging a play (which makes absolutely no sense at all).
  20. Yeah I think they're right about that. I think there may be some upset lower bowl season ticket holders who realize that the upper deck has a better deal. Maybe you wont be as close to the action, but you will dryer, warmer (because you're dry) and have a pretty steep (good viewing angle).
  21. I’m starting to look at this from a different perspective. I think the upper deck seats - whatever they’re calling those (500’s?) - may be the equivalent of our current club seats. - Fully under cover or close to it - Less crowding due to the larger concourses the stadium will have - Larger bathrooms - More food options The only thing really missing is the heat (which many club seats aren’t going to have anyway).
  22. The poster you responded to never said Bass was holding Allen back. He said that its not wise to risk a full season of an elite QB's youth with a risky kicker. You misframed what he said because you wanted to be sarcastic/edgy. Bass is 70% in the playoffs. He misses 30% of his playoff kicks. That's not good. The posters point was carrying that risk has a relatively high potential of wasting an entire season of positives with one kick.
  23. Why do people do this? You know darn well the point he is making up but instead of acknowledging it, you twist it into a sarcastic reply that you knew he did not mean. And his point has merit. It's one thing to give players numerous chances when you are a mediocre 9-7 team. But when you have a franchise QB in their prime, you don't take chances of potentially throwing away an entire season down the gutter due to one players mistakes. And unfortunately, with kickers, those mistakes are magnified.
