  1. This. It’s like some posters have amnesia that Gabe has had a 52% catch rate over the past two seasons. And it’s not like we needed Gabe to stretch the defense. Sherfield and Diggs were getting open deep just fine - they just dropped all 3 deep attempts.
  2. Post of the thread right here. 100% correct. Those saying he was better in 13 seconds only remember the final 5 minutes. We punted FOUR times in that 13 seconds game. Allen played well of course, but it was two TD’s in blown coverages against the Chiefs backups that made the game legend. The Gabe TD that extended the game, no one was within 10 yards of him. Last night, Allen was methodical. Brady-esque at times. He repeatedly took the smart play, whether that be a quick hitter for 5 yards or a swing pass, or extending the drive with his legs. Had Sherfield and Diggs not coated their hands in butter, and Dawkins not manhandled, Allen would have had close to 400 yards of offense and 4 TD’s last night.
  3. Goodness gracious no he wasn’t. If Dawkins wasn’t pushed back into Allen as he threw to a wide open Shakir, we have 30+ points last night against a top 5 Chiefs defense. We scored 20 points against that same defense with Gabe a couple months ago. We need new receivers everywhere, but once again Gabe doesn’t play and Allen doesn’t throw an INT. Not a coincidence.
  4. You continue to have a difficult time separating an individual persons play from the offense as a whole. - ALLEN threw a 70 yard bomb into the bread basket of his receiver on that final drive, and the receiver dropped it. That’s not on Allen. - ALLEN diagnosed the defense and found a wide open Shakir for the go ahead TD and his left tackle was manhandled so badly on the play that he was pushed into him as he threw it. That’s not on Allen. - ALLEN did not call a run on 1st down into a stacked box, effectively wasting a play. If receivers had caught the balls Allen threw perfectly, we are talking about 300+ yard passing and 70+ yard rushing and 4 TD game for Allen. If his LT didn’t get manhandled on 2nd and 9, we are talking about Allen throwing a laser for the go ahead TD. Again, these are not Allen’s fault. There are 10 other players on the offense. Not just Allen. .
  5. Because some of us understood football and know that Allen doesn’t catch the ball or kick the field goals:
  6. I would have rather been blown out by the Ravens. Beating the Chiefs and avenging 13 seconds would have been a seasons accomplishment.
  7. They doubled Daquan on something like 70% of his pass rush snaps. Im more disappointed in the run defense.
  8. Wanting the QB to choose a higher percentage shot is NOT the same thing as hero ball. For example, A 5 yard pass may be a lower percentage shot than throwing a 1 yard pass to the RB, but that doesn’t mean that throwing the 5 yard pass is therefore “hero ball”. Allen never played hero ball tonight. At any point. Ever. Second - on two of the deep throws, they WERE the highest percentage shot. The receiver was open and everyone else was blanketed. Third - on the 2nd and 9 play, Diggs was a higher percentage shot, but you take the endzone when you have it. Why? Because you don’t know if you’ll ever get that wide open of a receiver in the endzone again. For example, what if Allen hits Diggs and we get the first down, then the next play the pass gets tipped by a WR and it’s INT’ed? Or Cook fumbles the ball? Or we get a holding penalty that crushes our chances of scoring a TD since it’s now 20 yards for a first down? You take the endzone shot when you have a guy wide open in the endzone.
  9. A touchdown later isn’t guaranteed just because you get the first down by throwing to Diggs. The very next snap could be fumbled. Or the ball tipped and intercepted. Or a holding penalty that crushes the drive. You always take the points when you can get them. Throwing endzone was the right call.
  10. It’s a TD if Allen isn’t hit IMO.
  11. Wowza. This right here is why I don’t agree with the injury excuse some have speculated. What type of injury makes a receiver drop numerous passes over several months!?
  12. Are you? He threw a pass to a wide open receiver in the end zone and he got hit as he threw it. That is NOT hero mode. He threw a ball 60 yards downfield with perfect accuracy to our #1 WR who was open and the receiver dropped it. That is not hero mode. There was no hero mode tonight. Just great QB play that was let down by his receivers.
  13. You literally said Allen went into hero-mode when that never happened.
  14. The absolute worst time to troll.
  15. I don’t think he had a chance to make it outside. There was a defender right behind him. It was just a terrible play call and Torrence got stood straight up.
  16. Bernard and Benford… and Rasul was clearly not 100%. Dodson was playing 2 weeks after tearing his shoulder and got hurt again early in the game. Jordan Phillips also out, as well as Milano and Tre White. Thats… a lot.
  17. McD’s defense was ravaged with injuries so i’m not going to bash him too much there. That fake punt though… Love the aggressiveness, but I would have rather had Allen on the field running a 4th down offense.
  18. I’ll just copy/paste this from my thread… Allen had two good options on that play; 1) Shakir open in the endzone. 2) Diggs open on the crosser. He chose Shakir, who had made several great catches during the game, over Diggs who had 2 drops during the game. If Chris Jones didn’t push Dawkins into Allen’s side as he threw it, that would have been Allen’s 4th TD of the game.
  19. He didn’t miss. He got hit as he threw it.
  20. He played fantastic. That catch near the endzone to get the first down was incredible.
  21. He forgot the question mark so it made it look like a statement isn’t of an incredulous question. He agrees with you.
  22. Thia is just straight up trolling considering the post you quoted explained these stats.
