What is better, no guns, or more guns?
ArdmoreRyno replied to Security's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Clearly... another mass shooting by a whi..... oh wait, crap. BTW: Pistol braces do NOTHING to cause more deaths or less deaths. People who want to argue they do, they have ZERO understanding of firearms. "Bullets have been used in some recent mass shootings." -
A good & safe summer to you and your family. No matter what side of the isle you fall on politically, socially, etc... we're all Bills fans and human.

Bills to workout WRs Preston Williams, Marcell Ateman
ArdmoreRyno replied to The Jokeman's topic in The Stadium Wall
Another Oklahoma State kiddo! He was one of those players (like Tyreek) I didn’t understand why Gundy didn’t use more of because he had flashes of being f’ing amazing. Of course, we had James Washington as WR1 who won the Biletnikoff, as the main target for Mason Rudolph. (Okla State alum & season ticket holder) GO POKES! We signed one former Oklahoma State WR and waived another former OSU Cowboy WR. -

Comical! His dad wants guns banned (but shotguns, he's good with just randomly shooting shotgun blasts in the air) but his son who lied on a Form 4473 to buy a gun... he can use the Bruen ruling to save his own ass. Screw the rest of us Americans with our 2A rights. -
I own zero NBA Jerseys. I do have Desmond Mason's (Seattle, OKC, Milwaukee) black senior jersey he wore when he was at Oklahoma State. All the jerseys I own are game worn... besides the Thurman Thomas jersey and Barry Sanders jersey. They're all Oklahoma State related and all signed/framed Desmond Mason - Sr. season road jersey Barry Sanders - Orange Holiday Bowl jersey Thurman Thomas - Home Bills jersey Mo Baker - Jr. season road jersey w/10 patch (OSU 10 patch from the 2001 plane crash) Tatum Bell - Freshman season #33 home jersey (later changed his number to 7) Ivan McFarlin - Sr. orange jersey Jeremy Burnitz - Milwaukee Brewers home gray jersey from 2000 w/union patch R.W. McQuarters - Sr. home jersey Chianti Roberts - OSU signing day jersey

100% the reason. I work in a school as well (high school with a large minority population). The kids who get into the most trouble, don't show up for classes, get involved with crime outside the school... they are almost all from single parent households or no parent households (Dept of Human Service custody, grandparents or aunts/uncles custody, etc). The leftists on here will tell you it's because of racism that there are these issues. -

I've said (again) over-and-over why I own firearms and what I use those for. You've just missed those posts. And if what I live in is a trailer from your part of the woods, then wow. You must live in Buckingham Palace! Congrats! (you're the one that keeps brining up home types) Several people breaking into a home... it never happens! (and gun crime is non-existent in Australia!) https://www.skynews.com.au/australia-news/crime/elderly-couple-76-and-81-attacked-by-three-armed-intruders-during-home-invasion-in-carlton-with-several-items-stolen/news-story/02be64802dc3388427dc625f410727c0 https://www.nbcdfw.com/news/local/grandmother-and-grandchildren-pistol-whipped-during-home-invasion-in-irving/3238587/ https://abc7.com/el-monte-home-invasion-assault-police/12500289/ -

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Dude, I've said those things OVER AND OVER again on this thread the past 2 years. I have several AR platforms for several reasons. -
The Edge of Seventeen is a GREAT film if you haven't seen it.

I actually do have a trailer out on the property. With two adult kids and family, it's nice to have extra rooms for summers and holidays... but yea, I'd rather not take that chance. It HAS happened in Oklahoma before (several armed men breaking into a home). -

My wife to my girls: "I'm sorry Rylie and Lauren... I know your dad loved you both so much. He told me months ago, some guy from New York said he only needed 5 shotgun shells to defend the house, so he kept his Mossberg 500 unlocked instead of his other guns. Might have been enough firepower, but the 3 men who broke in with 3 pistols with 17 round magazines managed to overwhelm him." Yea, I think I'll use as much firepower as I can get my hands on to stop any and all threats... thank ya. -
I personally want Alabama to burn to the ground, lol. That said, I think Lane would be great at Bama. As you know, my youngest is at Ole Miss and the fans, students and especially players love the guy. I have nothing against Sarkisian. My exposure the past 20+ years to Texas football came to an end when they didn't include Oklahoma State on the 2023 schedule (I get why, 4-9 the last 13 seasons vs the Cowboys) so I have zero ill will against them or HCSS. Best of luck to them in the SEC, they'll defiantly need it IMO. So will OU. Looking at the Saban tree and who I'd want in order... 1. Lane 2. Napier 3. Cristobal 4. Sark 5. Dantonio (I bet he'd come out of retirement for Alabam).

But again, you don't get to tell anyone what they need to use for home defense. "Grand Thumb" did a dry wall experiment recently and the 77 grain 5.56 was the one round that didn't penetrate several walls.... unlike the shotgun, or 9mm. If someone is trying to break into my house and harm me or my family? I want as many rounds as possible and not limited to 5-6 shotgun shells. But you do you my man. I'm grabbing my suppressed 300 blackout or my Stribog. 30 round or 25 round magazines. The thing is, most gun owners are responsible. You'll have the outliers who leave their firearm in their car or laying around their homes... but most of us lock them up unless we are right there. I know that's what I do. I don't have the time or money to get an actual "military weapon". Unless you can find me a deal on a transferable M16/M4 lower or M249. -

So does ownership... in anything. More cars you own, the more car deaths. More people who own planes? You guessed it, more likely you'll die flying. -

Thus... it's a societal issue. -
Saying he's a "great" coach at this moment is a massive stretch. Lots of AMAZING coordinators that turn out to be average to bad head coaches. He was average to bad at Washington... he was average at best while coaching USC where he got fired and he ended up having a drinking problem... and now at Texas, he is barely above .500. So I need to SEE him win as a head coach. Don't care what he did as an assistant at Bama. I know you're a massive Alabama homer, but being a good assistant doesn't always translate to a good head coach. You know this.

They return 13 starters return. They bring back a lot of All-SEC kids, but they lost Stetson Bennett. 93% of their offensive passing yards. Also lost the leading rusher and both tackles. Defensively, they lost arguably the best player in college football (Carter), nearly the entire defensive backfield and linebackers. That's why I don't have them #1. Until Texas proves it, I won't believe it. Again... my Pokes beat them every year and we have 1/5 the talent ad less than that in overall budget.
-
If I haven't watched Texas lost nearly every season to my Pokes the past dozen or so years with the largest athletic budget in the country... I wouldn't joke about it. They are ranked top 25 EVERY SEASON and most of the time end up not ranked. 4 times they went from being pre-season ranked to having a below .500 season. 2011: 24th week 1 - NR at the end of the year 2012: 15th week 1 - NR at the end of the year 2013: 15th week 1 - NR at the end of the year 2014: 25th week 1 - NR at the end of the year 2015: NR week 1 - NR at the end of the year 2016: 11th week 2 - NR at the end of the year 2017: 23rd week 1 - NR at the end of the year 2018: 23rd week 1 - 9th at the end of the year 2019: 10th week 1 - NR at the end of the year 2020: 14th week 1 - 19th at the end of the year 2021: 21st week 1 - NR at the end of the year 2022: 21st week 2 - 25th at the end of the year

Not sure why you're even asking that. He plead no-contest to a felony. That's how you automatically lose your gun rights. -

That's the idea, but it's been abused. You can call in on a neighbor you don't like and say they have firearms and have threatened you... or an ex. Just to be spiteful (and it's happened). -
What is better, no guns, or more guns?
ArdmoreRyno replied to Security's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Definitely. If they are looking to harm themselves or others, or have a recent history of attempts. Most states have this rule in place. Some states have policies where if you were inpatient, you can't buy/own a firearm until you can prove you're competent to do so. I'm not pro-removing of rights if you're someone (example) who attempted a long time ago and did not complete suicide but have taken the steps to get better, have a safety plan, etc. A lot of fellow veterans have major PTSD, but that doesn't mean they should lose their 2A rights. Certain psychotic disorders or personality disorders. Schizophrenia for example. You're 100% right on everything you said. Especially when you said it's "highly subjective" and there ARE misdiagnosis that takes place in the field ALL THE TIME. Imagine you live in San Fran and are completely anti-2A. You feel the country should rework the Bill or Rights and get rid of the rights to own a firearm. You're also a shrink (blanket term for any therapist) and you are so bias, you help aide LEO in removing as many guns from people as possible via misdiagnosing people. That could be so abused. -

This is the part I take issue with. Again, what is the standard of "mentally ill" that warrants losing your firearm rights? Right now, in nearly every state... it's being a danger to yourself or others. But what if a person is going through a loss of a loved one or divorce and are taking medication and seeking counseling for that? Do they lose their 2A rights? Should I have to report their private information to LEO? No. As for red flag laws... this violates so many constitutional rights. You should never lose a right without due process.
