  1. But when he was stretchered from the pitch he was concious, breathing by himself, being able to interact. Damar wasn't.
  2. As said, Eriksen was fully concious, breathing by himself and actually giving people the thumbs up when he left the pitch. Two very different scenarios. 🙁
  3. I over-react to sport as a safety valve from the serious matters of real life. When an actual serious matter then collides with sport it's... calling it an eye opener doesn't even call it justice.
  4. The Dolphins, Steelers and possibly Jaguars might have something to say about the Pats game being forfeited. And the Ravens may be unimpressed if this is given to the Bengals. But there are far more important things going on at the moment.
  5. Can you imagine what it's like for them? They're not news broadcasters who are trained to be solemn and serious but keep the programme flowing. None of them want to be there, doing this, right now.
  6. I'm no fan of Bayless but, to be fair, some of us are discussing this on here too. And he also says it suddenly seems so irrelevant which is right.
  7. ESPN: Bengals players have left their locker room and exchanging hugs and handshakes with the Bills players. Looks like it's off and rightly so.
  8. If we're in a state to play tomorrow, move Bengals-Ravens and Patriots-Bills to the following Monday. ESPN: McDermott and Taylor has spoken to someone on a cell phone before they shared a hug. Goodell? Bills players are starting to come out of the locker room but not heading to the field.
  9. Agreed. I reckon the discussion is more whether we think we'll be ok to play tomorrow and what the outcome would be if not, whilst trying to appear sensitive at the same time. The ESPN pundits have said the game needs to be postponed. The right people know how Damar is, but it's difficult not after what we saw. Least it sounds like he's being sent to one of the best hospitals for cardiac trauma.
  10. ESPN: Goodell now in communication with the officials.
  11. McDermott's just held a meeting with the game officials.
  12. Someone on another forum proposed that. Makes sense. Though not sure if either team will want to play even 24 hours on.
  13. I feel for the ESPN crew here. They're basically expected to continue without any reference points. They can hardly say "let's recap the weekend's games" or show replays at the moment. If the NFL pulled the game they could go off air. Prayers for Damar.
  14. Pretty sure Christian Eriksen did and he's back playing now. Trying to think positively.
  15. If they're waiting for his mother to ride with him, surely that's a positive? If he was in any danger they'd be rushing him to the nearest ER?
  16. And the Bengals got to the Super Bowl last year from, was it the fourth seed?
  17. I love Josh but do think he could make things easier for himself at times. For the most part, we seem to have players open in the check down area but he constantly looks longer. Just would like him to mix it up a bit more in terms of taking what defenses offer. And the more we move the ball short, the defense will have to come up, opening opportunities for deep passes.
  18. We’re trying to convince ourselves a defeat isn’t a disaster. If we believe it is, we could be having meltdowns akin to fans of the Dolphins in about 16 hours.
  19. Surprises me. Surely it’d be fairer to have the Chiefs, Bills and/or Bengals to play at the same time? As it is the latter two will know what they have to do heading into their week eighteen game, or whether they can rest their starters. Titans-Jaguars make sense though, purely on the importance of the game, it should have been a lock for SNF but… markets. Though I think I’m right in saying the Jags could still make the play offs even if they lose, as long as the Pats, Dolphins and Steelers do the same, winning the tiebreak on Conference record?
  20. This is the least confident I’ve been going into a game in a long time. Maybe that means I won’t be so reactionary to every error or good play by the Bengals. I am infuriated that we put ourselves in this position though; if we hadn’t lost to one of the average at best Jets or Vikings… Whatever happens we’re still in the Play Offs. Whatever happens we still have a chance.
  21. I think they'll only think about moving Bengals/Ravens to Sunday night if we beat the Bengals tomorrow. Otherwise they'll want them playing the same time as us.
  22. I swear play calls are getting thicker. Vikings at Packers - both sides and 4th & Short and went for it. Both decided to go for a pass and screwed it up; the Vikings to the extent they gave away a pick six.
  23. They'll want the Bills to play at the same time as the Chiefs/possibly Bengals. Whatever happens tomorrow, we'll still be in the hunt for the number one seed.
