  1. Can someone square the Republican push to end cancel culture with multiple Republicans, such as Cassidy, Romney, Burr, Toomey, and Cheney, who are being censured by their state GOP committees for their impeachment votes?
  2. A point of Trump's defense yesterday was how important due process is. Due process now on the floor. Trump's defense says "whoa, now." Look in the mirror.
  3. 15 Senators did not attend today's proceedings.
  4. It's painfully obvious who is watching the evidence unfold live during the hearing and those that are not. Unfortunately had to ignore B-Man after looking at some of his posts. Lots of what about this and what about that with links to right wing punditry, while ignoring the live proceedings.
  5. They have not made a big point of it that I have seen, but Trump (obviously lying) telling the protestors he is going to march to the capitol with them is also a catalyst for the chaos.
  6. There is video evidence from 1/6 of insurrectionists reading Donald's tweets out load and using them to justify the attack. Donald's allies and staff begged him on Twitter and in person to call off the insurrection, but instead he egged the insurrectionists on. Tough to dismiss those points even if you somehow find him innocent.
  7. This is a wild accusation. What evidence points to this, especially on a national level? Even the impeachment managers have each gone out of their way to say that not everyone at the capitol is to blame and the ones who enflamed the rhetoric and invaded the capitol are.
  8. The request for an investigation into election fraud is a fabrication and the reason for the ongoing insurrection that happens during the phone call.
  9. Wouldn't you agree working the phones to sway people to the side of the insurrectionists looking to kill the VP Pence during the insurrection is a little different than working the phones to see if he's got votes? I see what you are saying but to compare the two as equal is a stretch.
  10. Sat tight through the smoking gun evidence.
  11. A hunch - but probably because of the threats the FBI were aware of prior to the insurrection. The leader of the Proud Boys was arrested when he landed in DC I believe on the 4th or maybe it was the 5th of January. It's not rare, either, for demonstrations to be limited to specific locations.
  12. See my edit on #2, please. They did not go into details. They also mentioned the original date was scheduled for January 22nd or 23rd and the date was changed by the behest of Trump. Here is the original permit for 1/2 - 1/8
  13. I also misheard that part of the presentation and my #2 is 100% factually inaccurate. I put two separate facts together into 1. I've edited the original post. Below is what is correct. There were at least $3.5 million in shell payments to groups associated with the attack. No idea if those payments have stopped or not. Donald spent over $500 million on stop the steal and the like ads. Those ads immediately stopped after the insurrection. Maybe - please see my edit. I was incorrect in the facts.
  14. Explain. I think I understand how you're thinking but I do not want to assume. They were paid to do a job. The job was over. The payments stopped.
  15. In my opinion every single time Donald Trump spread the "big lie" and called on his supporters to fight and stop the steal is a smoking gun. It's evidence of incitement, but since it's been in plain sight for months (years, one could argue - did he not do the same thing in 2016 with his "voter fraud commission?"), it's hardly seen as smoking gun evidence . One damning fact I did not learn until today 1. An additional permit was needed for the protestors to march from the Ellipse to the capitol. This permit was originally denied until Donald Trump got involved with the planning. 2. Trump’s political operation paid over $3.5 million to the January 6th organizers and stopped payments immediately after the insurrection.
  16. Get out of this thread for a bit. I think that's the crux.
  17. I think we hear a lot of people say that. If your complaint is leaders are not calling it "full freaking normal" I don't know what to say.
  18. This is quite the back and forth... not sure it's worth getting involved but there are multiple vaccines and they are not experimental.
  19. Rose darling my friend With only you and what I've found We'll wear the weary hours down
  20. I think this is Russel's way of telling the team protecting him needs to be their top priority.
