  1. I mean I do agree with you more pressure would work in most hailmary type plays. But as a QB, we want nothing more than a chance to win in these kind of situations. A lot of QBs probably couldn’t do it, but I trust a hungry Allen more than I trust a 4 man rush. I think athletic QBs deserve the right to win for their teams on hailmary situations.
  2. Crazy wins you games when all others are afraid. Just like nobody ever attempts line rugby jumps during hailmarys which is mind boggling.
  3. It honestly doesn’t matter at that point. The QB is going to chuck it into the end zone whether in 10 seconds or 5 seconds. If you aren’t going to bring the house, then allow the QB who is athletic as can be a chance to win for you on defense. It’s a jump ball situation. It’s basically basketball. All you need is height and jumping skills which Allen has.
  4. You wouldn’t understand. There is nothing to lose by pulling a D lineman and putting the QB in the end zone to win the game defensively. Almost every QB alive wants that opportunity during hailmarys.
  5. Outside of Allen being possibly hurt on the play, there is absolutely nothing to lose by allowing your athletic star QB a chance to save the team he lead for a game winning drive. You pull out a D lineman and leave Allen in the end zone. It gives him a chance to play hero ball. If you ever played QB you would understand.
  6. There is nothing worse than being an athletic QB watching a hailmary pass in the end zone. Allen would have wanted to be in there, because I understand that feeling.
  7. Lol the dude made a nearly full out catch for a TD today and hurdled over Barr. I’m not worried about Allen making awkward moves. The dude won us the game today, and if I’m the coach I’m giving him the chance to win for the team in the end zone.
  8. Josh Allen can leap over full grown men like Barr. I don’t care what anyone says, I’m giving Allen a shot at jump balls in the end zone.
  9. Playing scared or uneventful status quo strategy is what keeps good coaches from being great. You put your tallest players who can jump in the end zone during hailmarys. It might sound crazy, but Allen is an athletic freak who probably keeps Hopkins from catching that ball. You just keep him in the end zone and pull a player upfront.
  10. Well you should be. It would be the first thing on my mind. It’s inexcusable a defense coach isn’t planning for it.
  11. Then as a coach, why wouldn’t you put someone in the end zone with height that can jump full knowing a Hail Mary is coming. It’s inexcusable.
  12. The dude can jump. He has a better verticals than Poyer and is much taller (See the Barr jump). I bet you Josh Allen stops Hopkins from catching that ball.
  13. It happens, but you have to try it sometimes. If Allen is back there, what is the worse that happens today, a Hopkins TD. Nothing changes. It’s worth a try.
  14. The fact they don’t try a line side lift jump like they do in rugby on hailmarys is astounding to me.
  15. Poyer could have at least gotten on him knees so White could have jumped off his back. They had time.
  16. you can if you put tall people who can jump back there. Honestly what do you have to lose if Allen is back there? Ok so Allen gives up a TD to Hopkins, the result is the same, but at least a head coach tried to do something creative.
  17. Allen can leap Barr, I’m putting him back there on jump balls to Hopkins.
  18. In jump ball situations, I 100% trust Allen or whoever to stop Hopkins. Way more than White.
  19. How can rugby players do it but NFL players can’t on hailmarys?
