Why shouldn't we have a loser mentality? This the town that celebrates Scott Norwood and chants his name after he blows our greatest opportunity to win a Super Bowl? The town who shows up to the airport to greet our losers after they lose. So yes, we have a shot every year and we blow it. We bring in nice guys with feel good stories and the one scumbag we bring in (Von) ends up being a ***** bust. Josh is wonderful, amazing, but his coach is a loser who was fired by one of the all time great winners. Perhaps if the team wants to get serious about winning, we start by replacing cute stories like Damar Hamlin with actual players who can contribute. Damar seems like a wonderful man and it's beautiful that he is still alive and breathing. But pay him to be a brand ambassador or something. Don't snap the ball to him in a critical playoff moment. And while we're at it, if Tre White is brought back at his current deal then this, even more than Hamlin, shows that this is not a team who is committed to winning. If there is ANY way he comes back he needs to take a MAJOR pay cut or they can send his ass packing. Sucks that he got hurt, but he's being paid top of the line money and honestly the only Tre White play I remember from '21, '22 or '23 is him giving up one of those inexplicable catches to Garrett Wilson in the Jets game that resulted in a TD. But surely, Sean and Brandon "really believe in Tre and he's making great strides and he's a big part of this team," which means a severely compromised Tre should be back on the field by November 2024 and should probably start playing at a reasonable level by October 2025. And if a player shows you who he is, like Tyler Bass, cut him yesterday. He totally showed his ass this postseason. Looked like an absolutely amateur when trying to lock-up the Pittsburgh game, and the less said about his big KC kick, the better. He doesn't "deserve another chance." He was a total drag on this team all postseason, and honestly I even question him on 13 seconds. I know he's "just a kicker" but was our entire sideline so braindead that nobody thought to ask that kicking the ball out of the end zone might not be the best course of action? And speaking of that, McDermott's decision making really must be compromised. How did he look at what Sam Martin was doing the week before the KC playoff game and think that guy could punt? If it looked anything like the garbage we saw that night, McD needs his brain checked. The guy couldn't kick. And apparently his holding expertise wasn't needed with little Norwood Jr, cuz that ***** wasn't hitting the broadside of a barn in a clutch moment this postseason. Or putting AJ Klein on Kelce? I thought McD was a defensive guru. I don't pretend to know football like he does, but I probably coulda told you that a recently retired, washed up, slow SOB was not a good choice to put on the best tight end in the game, but what do I know? Next year we won't have 12 men on the field in a critical moment or play the sidelines against a team down three with three timeouts. Surely we won't have our all-world QB leave the field with a lead multiple times to lose to the absolute dregs of the league. We won't come within a hairs breadth of losing to Easton Stick. Von Miller is totally gonna show up. And Greg Rousseau will become a game changer. And Ed Oliver will show up in the playoffs. Also don't forget.... Actually, no you're not. You're a loudmouth who doesn't show up when the big moment calls for it. At least not in Buffalo. But keep talkin' Stef. Maybe you can join your bro in Dallas soon.

I really wanna believe this. But what have you seen that makes you think our coaching will be better? And because we're Buffalo are big swing was taken on a scumbag (Von) who broke down not long after getting here, our "nice value FA signings" are jokers like Harty and Sherfield. And once again we'll put garbage on the field at WR next year and we'll be so surprised that some 4th string Vikings or Jaguars wideout isn't the needle mover we needed. I do look forward, however, to seeing what undersized DT we take in the first round. Also it'll be nice to see what fourth round WR "steal" Beane finds in the draft who won't even make the active roster. Super excited for next season for sure!

Did Marvin Lewis have Josh Allen or did he gave good (definitely not great) QB like Carson Palmer and Andy Dalton? I'll hang up and listen.
-
Wait. Rick Dennison had more power in the Bills organization, circa 2017, than Seanny Boy? Wow. Guess that there really isn’t ANYTHING that’s McDermott’s fault. Thanks for correcting me!
-
No. Andy Dalton did. McDipshit thought it prudent to replace a pedestrian Tyrod Taylor with (checks notes) Nathan Peterman. And also punted to the Colts in OT in a game that would’ve kept us out of the playoffs again. But go on…

Von Miller faces arrest in domestic violence case in Dallas
Jim replied to ArdmoreRyno's topic in The Stadium Wall
Ya might wanna change any 97s. Might wanna read a bit about Biscuit. And 12, well, if we wanna talk about beating women, maybe take Jimbo out too. -
So we are getting close to the point where here we are going to have a lost season on our hands. Whether you point the finger at the regression of Sean McDermott, horrible WR signings by Brandon Beane, injuries or whatever else, here is what I expect to hear from Beane: •We always knew this was going to be a tough year, but we saw a lot of good things, like Terrell Bernard. •Von came back from a big injury and to be honest it was always gonna be tough to expect a lot of a guy under these circumstances. •Kaiir (or Dawson or whoever) had a rough year. Nagging injury really got to him but we have high hopes for him next year! Shoot, I don’t even doubt they use the BS nagging injury excuse for Davis again. •Some kinda lame excuse for Harty and Sherfield being such horrid signings. I’m sure they already have excuses about turf toe injuries and ankle problems instead of just admitting they whiffed. •Will pat McDingus on the head for his “defense” despite the fact that the defense never got a stop to clinch a win once this year, besides the refs bailing us out against NYG. Anybody got any other hackneyed nonsense we will have thrown at us that will attempt to explain away why we are frittering away the career of the best QB we’ve ever seen in Buffalo.
-
I agree that Mahomes may have the same career in Buffalo if everything is changed, but still, trading the spot for a badly needed QB to then go select a very good (not great) CB is just not how teams win. It showed McDickhead’s misunderstanding of the current NFL from day one. No matter how great Tre White would’ve been (yep, using the past tense, dude’s career is over), he was never gonna truly move the needle. Did Darrell Revis with the NYJ? Did Stephon Gilmore (nope, not until paired with an elite QB on the other side of the ball)? At the least we could’ve looked for an offensive weapon, but nope. We ended up with Tre White, a man who hasn’t played meaningful football in TWO years! And yes I know the ghost of Tre played last year and he also had to played long enough this year to give up another highlight catch. Good job McCocksucker!

11/26/23 Week #12 GAMEDAY Bills at Eagles Pregame Thread
Jim replied to Chandler#81's topic in The Stadium Wall
Those guys don’t have reputations for dropping anything that comes their way. If or when that happens then maybe then the tide will change. Maybe, maybe not. -
Schopp & the Bulldog (and kind of a catch-all WGR thread)
Jim replied to Jim's topic in Off the Wall
Could somebody explain to me why Bulldog works from home most of the time? As I said, it seems as though the production values are not as good from his home, as evidenced by the microphone pops you seem to hear at least once each segment. -
Schopp & the Bulldog (and kind of a catch-all WGR thread)
Jim replied to Jim's topic in Off the Wall
Yeah but talking about your fantasy team is a bit like somebody talking about crypto, or to put it more bluntly, playing with oneself. It might feel good for the person doing it, but it’s a real bore for the rest of us. -
So here's the deal. I moved to Florida in 1997 with my family when I was 12 years old. As a kid I listened to WGR quite a bit with my dad, when I wasn't listening to Yankees games on the radio cuz that was the only option (probably the last generation to have to do that). I remember Art Wander (there's no way he's still alive, is there?) and Coach Dickerson, and I'm sure I'd remember other names if people reminded me. It was still News Radio 55 at that point, but I remember tons of Bills talk. I'd always like to listen to it when we would come back up, either for a Bills game or whatever. Well anyways, after hearing about One Bills Live from my Dad and listening to it at as a podcast, it then became clear to me that it was being originally broadcast on WGR. And so after starting to use Audacy it him me that I could listen to WGR regularly again. And it's been a breath of fresh air to hear programming on my car rides to and from work and whatnot from a Buffalo-centric point of view. So anyways, I obviously gravitated quickly to Howard & Jeremy and especially Schopp & the Bulldog. Schopp has a great voice for radio and Bulldog does have an endearing regular guy fan sort of viewpoint. But after a while it became clear to me that Schopp's obsession with fantasy football (and both's affinity for gambling) is weird as *****. I personally have 1 fantasy team, but I can understand people having a handful (maybe 3 or 4 at the most). But why would one have over 200 fantasy football teams? Am I the only one who finds that ***** insane? That's a sickness. At that point why is it a bother to have those teams at all? Who can you even remember to root for? Are all these leagues for money? That's gotta be a bit of a problem. And Bulldog, as a broadcaster, is actually really fun in my opinion. He's definitely a little less cerebral than Schopp but he's earnest. My issues are this: why does he firstly get to work from home despite it being 2023? I assume this started in 2020? Does he have a medical reason to be there instead of at the station with his partner? That leads me to my second issue, why does dude have SO much time off? He's sick nearly constantly and then quickly on vacation when he's not sick anymore. Perhaps he should just give this gig up. Also, the way his microphone pops on his "p"'s sounds so unprofessional. Maybe it doesn't sound so bad on the warmer, slightly hissy AM radio in one's car as opposed to the digital version that appears on my phone, but it's pretty agitating when trying to listen to some Bills commentary. As far as the other guys, I really like Nate Geary. He's heart on sleeve and just fun. Howard was great in my opinion, I vaguely remember him with much more hair on Empire Sports Network from before we moved, and look forward to hearing more from him in the future, as his departure from the show didn't mean he wasn't gonna stay visible on the Buffalo sports scene. Jeremy is okay in a fratty yet mellow and cool way. His takes to me are usually pretty reasonable. Joe seemed fine as a fill in but is nothing special. The minor fill in guys are kinda fun honestly.
-
Am I the only person who finds it odd he kept using the phrase “spanning time” with Christina Ricci’s character? I mean maybe it’s supposed to be that Gallo’s character isn’t good with words, but it’s odd how he keeps saying spanning time within one scene, where obviously the word to use should probably be “spending time.”

The Cincy game & its affect on how we view the team
Jim replied to Success's topic in The Stadium Wall
So idk if Minnesota fits in here, but Von had a huge sack on third down that for all intents and purposes should’ve put that game away. Unfortunately our recently re-signed superstar Cam Lewis thought an interception would be cooler than just knocking the ball away and winning the game. -
The Cincy game & its affect on how we view the team
Jim replied to Success's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think the incredible thing to me about last season was how these kinda ***** QBs would have the best game of their life against us. Wilson scored how many points on the Pats altogether in two games? Three? Ten? But he plays against Buffalo between those games if I remember correctly and he plays the best game of his NFL career. Now mind you, it wasn’t great, but it was efficient. How could this vaunted defense not stop this joker? Same thing with Skyler Thompson. He scored nine against the Jets the week before we got them, and he puts up over 20 against us. Not mentioning the drops by Waddle and Hill that surely coulda changed the complexion of the game as much as Josh’s turnovers and Shakir’s drop did. -
He did have Isaiah McKenzie wide open for a likely game winning TD against Miami that ultimately probably would’ve got us home field. But he bounced the pass to him. You see Mahomes ever do that in the big moments?
-
Funny enough, if he gets those two simple plays right we likely have home field advantage in the 2021-2022 season and the 2022-2023 season. Josh has undoubtably been clutch against KC, but those random games throughout the year, sometimes he just doesn’t have it. You don’t see stuff like that from Patrick Mahomes. If he needs a yard to win a game, he gets it.

Frazier: The hard FACTS on why many of us want a change.
Jim replied to Alphadawg7's topic in The Stadium Wall
There it is. We go into the Dolphins game with them skidding after SF and LA basically put the breaks on them. Do we use any of what those guys did? Nah. Then the Patriots and the Ravens give the Bengals fits. The Bengals don't have a great game against either. So when its time to play them in the biggest game of the season, do we decide to use anything they did. Now way, that's not happening! Leslie knows better than those other guys. -
After we get a Lombardi we will see how much complaining there is. More likely, it’s that we won’t accept just getting to the dance anymore. With Josh Allen, that’s not enough. Sorry guys.

If Frazier returns, how much will your enthusism die?
Jim replied to The Red King's topic in The Stadium Wall
But we have the great Tremaine Edmunds, who surely deserves as much money as Roquan Smith! -

Yeah but that would implicate Loseley’s defense and GunnerBill doesn’t wanna do that. -

If it makes you feel better Buckets, I’m 37 and I doubt I’ll see the Bills hoist the Lombardi either. Sucks, but here we are.
