  1. Don Banks - SI 2. The Eagles trade Lito Sheppard to move up in the first round: The minute Asante Samuel signed with Philadelphia it became a fait accompli that Sheppard would be dealt. It's rare that 27-year-old cornerbacks with a pair of Pro Bowl selections on their résumé reach the market, but Sheppard's recent injury history and his contract dissatisfaction make him expendable. With Sheppard not even taking part in Philly's offseason program, the Eagles don't have a ton of leverage in any potential deal. Everybody knows he's a goner, so Philadelphia can't exact maximum value. What the Eagles should be content to do is use Sheppard as the ammo they need to move up in the first round from their current No. 19 slot. The two obvious teams above Philly that need a cornerback are No. 8 Baltimore and No. 10 New Orleans. At No. 10, the Eagles could pick the draft's top-rated receiver, Devin Thomas of Michigan State, just ahead of the No. 11 Bills, who covet him. Another potential target at No. 10 would be Virginia guard-tackle Branden Albert, who is rated the draft's second-best tackle prospect by some teams. Turning Sheppard, a former 2002 first-round pick, into one of those three players -- Ellis, Thomas or Albert -- would be transforming the Eagles' biggest negative this offseason into a positive.
  2. There are no clear-cut "can't miss" prospects in this draft, so I'm not sure why you would hate this pick. When Lee Evans was drafted, the talk the week leading up to the draft was "the Bills really like him, but is he a reach at 13?" By the end of the week, I remember most everyone was OK with taking him and it turns out we were right.
  3. The guy is big and just a beast. I think he is the most NFL ready DE in the draft. He works hard and attacks the ball. He is not a finesse guy. He is the perfect compliment to Stroud and Johnson.
  4. Trade down from 11 and get the real difference maker at DE, Phillip Merling. Then you could trade back into the 1st or move up in the 2nd and get your WR. I am actually partial to Jordy Nelson. By doing it this way, you could still get a CB in the 3rd and a TE or OG in the 4th. Phillip Merling
  5. Phillip Merling is a beast and would compliment Stroud and Johnson perfectly.
  6. What do they run on at the Combine? Astroturf or Fieldturf?
  7. When will we hear results from his workout? Are there any links out there that keep track of stuff like this?
  8. No, I didn't check the Bills home page. Thanks for the link Ray and thanks Brandon.
  9. What picks in the draft do the Bills have? Is there a site that shows the round and number in the round?
  10. Pro Football Weekly................Whispers Following Bryant Johnson’s decision to sign with the 49ers, the Bills will now wait until the draft to address their glaring WR deficiencies. Failing to upgrade the position in free agency only solidifies the belief that they’ll be selecting a wideout with their first pick, No. 11 overall. Texas’ Limas Sweed, Oklahoma’s Malcolm Kelly and Michigan State’s Devin Thomas, all of whom fit the mold of the big receiver they’re targeting, are the leading candidates. I say Devin Thomas in the 1st. He really reminds of a mix between Andre Reed and Eric Moulds. I just have a gut feeling it will be Devin Thomas. And I don't think they will trade down to get him. Either Levy or Modrak said, and I think it was after they drafted Donte - "if your guy who you feel strongly about is there at your pick, you draft him - don't risk it by trading down." Then in the second I would love to see Dustin Keller (may have to trade up to get him) or Kellen Davis the TEs. In the 3rd if he is still there, take Justin King, the CB out of Penn State. In the 4th take Owen Schmidt. He will make LBs Schmidt their pants.
  11. Geez. I almost guessed the first 2 picks correct!!! Maybe I'll try again this year.
  12. Somewhat right. The only reason I didn't want the Bills to take Lynch at 12 before was because I thought he was a major character risk, and I didn't want another McGahee. I love how Lynch is a team guy, it is the perfect thing for this team. Like I said, my questions are answered.
  13. Take Lynch at 12 and move up a little to guarantee David Harris or the top OLB left. USA Today article on Lynch
  14. Or trade back into the 1st using our 2nd and Baltimore's 3rd. Anyone remember what it cost last year to get back into the 1st?
  15. More than likely the team that takes a chance on him will be the Atlanta Falcons.
  16. Power runner for a power running team. The upgraded line was made for a power running team, not a scat-back. Here is why he would be the perfect fit. Agree?
  17. He'd be perfect for this offense.
  18. POZ in the 1st then Tony Hunt in the 2nd.
  19. I would think if AP fall to 6 Marv should make a deal. I can't see him getting past Minnesota, Atlanta, and Houston. What would Marv have to give up to move from 12 to 6? I really thought they would trade their 2nd for Turner, but the uncertainty of that will cause the Bills to think RB eariler. Would this make sense? Take a LB (Willis or POZ) at 12 and trade back into the 1st round to take Marshawn Lynch, likely before Green Bay. What would it take to get back into the 1st round to get Lynch?
  20. I'm sure Buffalo is talking with them also, unless they've decided they don't want him. Offer your second straight up and throw in Roscoe Parrish if needed.
  21. We need to worry more about Travis Henry than Jay Cutler. Who's going to stop him?
  22. Making their interest in the best available running back left on the free agent market official, the Buffalo Bills hosted San Diego restricted free agent running back Michael Turner Thursday at One Bills Drive.
  23. Turner in Buffalo TODAY!!! Per Chris Brown at 11:47am today.
  24. That happens all the time, though. When a player is due a huge roster bonus, the team and the player re-negotiate a better deal for both parties. Maybe they didn't like his stub fingers?
  25. I don't get what the Titans are doing. They let Travis Henry walk; he was awesome last year. They let him go without a fight because they had Lendale White, who they drafted in the 2nd round last year. Now all of a sudden, they see White is fat and out of shape, so now they scrap that idea and want to get Turner. They might as well get rid of White too. Just doesn't make sense to me why they would give up on a 2nd round pick so easily, after deciding he was good enough to let Travis Henry go.
