Some Bills fans believe you win titles by the amount of good things pundits say about them.  The fact is the Dolphins always have had a good defence and now have elite play makers on offensive side. The good news is our defence is much better

Their defense looked horrible today and has historically played poorly against buffalo.  Their linebackers are not disciplined enough to account for qbs that can run the football.   We can talk Miami up as much as we want to but they still objectively don’t match up well against us

we really have to see at least one game where the bills don’t look very good before people start crowning Miami and even that id say would be an overreaction.  We smoked a Super Bowl caliber team and they beat an injury riddled ravens team by 3

Miami has a lot of winnable games in the coming weeks regardless of what happens against the Bills which is another factor to consider in terms of the division title race.

That’s all pretty relative…our schedule eases up in the back half

The have easier schedule, if they can stay healthy it will not be easy

They have to play the Super Bowl favorites twice and we don’t have to play ourselves so idk how much easier their schedule can be. Also lac looked just as good as kc Thursday night so it’s not like they’re getting a layup there either

double also lol…we negated their easier nfc west matchup by beating the rams week 1…so I’d argue they have a harder schedule going forward

  4. I’m even more convinced the bills are a terrible matchup for Miami after todays game….that Miami defense is not what it used to be and tua just will not take risks against decent zone coverage so he won’t beat josh in a shootout.  He’ll only take a shot when receivers are ‘college open’. Most of his yardage today came from completely busted coverage

if our defensive line is as good as it looked week 1 Miami will be even less of a problem than last year

theyre a better team than last year overall I’d say but they play perfectly into the bills strengths…they struggle against dual threat qbs and tua is not very strong going through his progressions. we are disciplined in the secondary and excel at disguising our zone coverages

baltimore could give us trouble when they get healthier so today was the best result

Hill and Waddle can take over a game. Don't just focus on Tua. Think Alabama. Tua was able to get the ball to his playmakers. The young Bills secondary has its hands full next week. Also, the Dolphins will move Tua and make quick passes to avoid the Bills pass rush. No easy game. However, I want to focus on Tenn for now.

The short throws weren’t really hurting Baltimore…the busted coverages on the deep balls killed them. Miami had quite a few drives derailed in the first half from wr screens/quick throws behind the line of scrimmage losing yardage.  That was the strangest game…halfway through I’d say tua had a below average game then Baltimore started losing even more dbs to injury and couldn’t stop a paper bag

it wasn’t even superior route running or a great scheme the ravens seemed like they were trying to run cover 0 but the cbs kept thinking they had safety help. Really really odd.  Tua made a handful of nice plays and a handful of bad plays but a majority of his statistical output was routine plays against blown coverage

sounds crazy if you just look at his stat line but he was pretty average imo…a great qb would’ve won that game by three scores. That was an easy 50 burger for a great offense I just can’t believe how bad baltimore was

It was “college open” and it was like Tua was slingin it in Tuscaloosa again.

im not saying that couldn’t happen to the Bills but I would be a bit surprised as they rarely get beaten over the top even without Tre

Even if we blow a few coverages I don’t think tua is matching scores with josh…a shootout is not the game they want.  They don’t really match up against buffalo well especially if von is the difference maker that it appeared he was in week 1

There are a lot of fans here who think Allen will win it. He can't win it if he's pulled, or keeps throwing double digit INT's.

It’s not really him throwing double digit ints it’s rodgers throwing a freakishly tiny number of ints.  Rodgers looked pretty lost in week 1 without davante so it’s looking to be mahomes and Allen as the early front runners

It’s not surprising, they had one of the worst pass defenses in the league last year. They had a lot of injuries, but just lost a starting corner Kyle fuller  to acl this week and Marcus peters just returned today from an acl. They could not cover anyone last year and that apparently hasn’t changed.

They lost quite a few guys on defense down the stretch of the game too I couldn’t even keep up with it.  Queen was down then a couple defensive backs were down idk if any of those guys came back

He's not an MVP candidate. I'm saying Allen needs more games like that, or close to that. But minus the INT's.

Oh I didn’t realize we were talking about the mvp award.  Honestly if we keep racking up huge leads I’d prefer us sitting josh to keep him healthy late in games over winning a trophy that isn’t even the Super Bowl trophy.

tua would have been pulled late today also if Miami wasn’t so terrible on defense in the first half.

Those are the kinda stats that are needed for the MVP award.

Lol yea if he could do anywhere close to that against an above average defense on a consistent basis. You’re not gonna see defenses like that too often with the schedule the afc east drew this year.

He played about the same as he did in the NE game but NE didn’t forget how to communicate on defense in week 1

If Allen had a 400+ yd game and 6 TD's, I would think it an accomplishment. I would not care how injured the other team was, how bad their coaching was, yadda.

Why wouldn’t that matter lol? that’s a strange take. I’d take 299 yards against a perennial Super Bowl favorite over 1000 yards against a teams practice squad defense…especially if we’re trying to extrapolate the results from todays game to how Miami will perform against the bills.

NEs defense is not as good as ours and they didn’t have much trouble slowing Miami down.  That’s a lot better indicator of how we will do than a bunch of dudes off the street in the Baltimore secondary.

To put in blunty, Miami have the talent to beat us if we're not at our best. But if they do beat us, it won't be down to Tua. It'll probably be a mix of Hill, Waddle and us beating ourselves.

I think they have flip flopped a stout defense and a mediocre offense for a good offense and a mediocre defense and they’ll probably finish around the same amount of wins

  13. Just now, Gene1973 said:

Would not Bills fans consider  400+ yd 6 TD game an accomplishment if it was Allen?

Lol that’s not how you phrased it originally… you said ‘I don’t think josh Allen has ever done this’. And no against that defense today I would not consider that an especially impressive accomplishment…tua did not do anything that bridgewater couldn’t have done.  Bunch of wr screens/checkdowns then he hit a few home runs to absolutely wide open guys.

I asked in the Tua thread and never got an answer if that was the case.

Did Tua make big throws or did Hill

    and Waddle have massive RAC?

Huge chunk of the yardage was absolutely embarrassing blown coverages by Baltimore…cbs passing receivers off thinking they had safety help when they didn’t on numerous occasions.  They were absolutely awful today

We would have as well if it were us

Na I think half of us would realize it was mostly a result of the ravens absolutely terrible defense.  I don’t think I’ve ever seen so many completely wide open receivers in 30 years of watching football and it wasn’t even like they were schemed open…the ravens dbs were quite literally forgetting to cover guys.

Josh Allen's only had a perfect offensive game against a top NFL defense coached by the top defensive coach in the NFL, but you know besides that.

Can’t wait for people to lose their minds over tua’s pff score lol he was honestly pretty average.  Gesicki bailed him out once with an insane catch and most of his big passing plays were comically busted coverages

people seem to only look at stat sheets these days to come to their conclusions.
