  1. Has anyone looked at the snap counts from the Miami game?  How are you running the ball with that offensive line we finished the game with?  Tennessee was a pass heavy game plan I’m sure because the front 7 is their strength and the weaknesses are at corner

kc claimed they got smoked in the Super Bowl because they were missing a few offensive linemen….we were missing like 5 on Sunday

  2. Fun stat of the day…the pats have never won a superbowl without losing to Miami in the regular season

I hated that the Bills were so heavily favored going into the season, it was designed for failure from jump street. It’s pathetic how disrespected the Bills have been traditionally and then go to the greatest team on earth, no balance whatsoever. once again I’ll say that the Ravens and Chiefs’ games holds great importance to the Bills’ goals. Win them and we’ll be right where we want to be. I will say that although I greatly appreciate Kyle Brandt beating the drum for us the last couple of seasons but he innocently actually put more pressure on the Bills. I also agree wholeheartedly in what he said about Bills Mafia, stating don’t make be crybabies and hide behind excuses. I believe that the majority of fans out there know about the Bills being decimated with injuries and they were playing in extreme weather conditions. It’s a good way to alienate people, nobody wants to hear excuses.

I mean…if the Sportsbooks knew the healthy players we’d be left to finish this game out with, we would’ve been 10 point underdogs.  If that lineup was considered our starters we’d be the underdog almost every game

The last couple of drives Allen was pressing. He has a tendency to get like that when we're down and the clock is ticking. You were starting to see the more erratic, sugar-high, Josh. He had a handful of risky throws that by all accounts should have been intercepted.

I'm going to chalk it up to mental and physical exhaustion and having to play with a completely different cast of players that he's normally used to playing with.

The pressing honestly made sense to me(it normally doesn’t though)…it was only a matter of time before a sack or holding call derailed the drive…he was working miracles making passrushers miss.  Had to take risks down the stretch there he had probably the worst offensive line ever assembled blocking for him late in this one.

Singletary played outstanding on Sunday. The RB’s are not the issue. The OL with Kromer was expected to improve in the run game and so far not so much. If you think the RB’s are the problem re watch the Dallas OL create holes on key down and distance for a back up QB. It’s an OL issue.

I mean look at the snap counts from the game.  We had absolute scrubs forced in due to injury.

Is it though? The dolphins offense were in fact on the field during the game and the defense did this. That was pretty impressive given the status of the defense.

    Punt 2:26

TD (off Josh Allen Fumble from 6 yard line) 1:36

    TD 5:14

    Punt 2:09

    Punt 1:58

    Punt 1:40

    TD 4:04

    Punt 0:13

Edit, I'll just add the drive times bc it shows the defense got the Miami offense off the field quickly.

Well one of those punts was when tua went down and one was when the offense pinned them on the goal line late in the game and they were trying not to take too many risks.  So realistically they scored tds on about half their possessions although one was a short field.  Elam did a nice job on tyreek though so that’s a good sign

I am a bit worried about Baltimore's front three/four against our banged up O-Line.  Big Guys don't recover super fast and most of our big guys were either hurt or had heat-related illness during the Miami game.  Calais Campbell is still playing at a high level, and his DT partner Madabuike may be better than Campbell.  Hoping that Morse is able to go on Sunday.  Also a threat of the Hurricane Ian's remnant may impact the game in Baltimore on Sunday, Lamar on a slippery field is not a prospect you want to see.

Some of our oline losses were heat stroke and I think Mitch was close to ready Sunday so I’d be surprised to not see him this week. Bates could clear concussion protocol this week too so despite being down 5 guys last week we could be business as usual Sunday

Holding it against a lot of the starters. I think that's the worse thing; if we lost because of a back up error it'd be more understandable. But...

    - Josh's poor throw

    - McKenzie not getting out of bounds

    - Diggs drop

    - Davis drop

    - Bass field goal miss

    - Milano's drop on a potential pick six

And if just Josh's throw had made it to McKenzie, or Bass had made the field goal, or if Milano had made the pixk six, and all other things remained equal we would have one. Just one. That's the most galling thing.

Of course it's not down to Josh we lost. But too many simple mistakes were made to win.

It’s all pretty related though…no doubt we would be rotating in fresh players if we didn’t have so many injuries but we did not have that luxury.  You’ve gotta think the starters make a bigger difference down the stretch if they had that opportunity.

It's a mentality issue which needs to be worked on. And that's across the franchise, for which Josh is part of. He made an error he shouldn't have made in a key siutuation, plus could have easily been intercepted four times.  He's played better, he'll play better, but when the pressure is on, in one score games, the choke seems to follow across the board. That needs to be sorted.

I think as the streak goes on of winning every game by two scores it’s becoming clear that when we have an off game josh is good enough to keep us in it.  He missed one throw sure but we had no business being in that game.  Our offensive line was getting obliterated which would’ve led to way more three and outs/opportunities for Miami to drive on our defense if josh wasn’t playing out of his mind.  That should’ve been a lopsided loss and we lost by 2 points…and at the same time were holding it against josh for losing a one score game?  Doesn’t make a lot of sense to me.

hard to blame one guy for missing a throw with an injured hand and after everything he went through that game when bass missed a short fg and Milano dropped a pick six and gabe couldn’t hang onto that perfectly thrown pass in the end zone and so on

I want to see a Bills record broken- ASAP! The winning by double digits streak. Because the OPPOSITE side of the paradigm is this- you choke in the tight games, where end game decisions, TO usage, even challenges are critical.

I like McDermott and the culture he has installed. And obviously love the SB bound team Bean Boy has assembled.

“When this team is rolling, I like their chances.  If they are in a dogfight, and making mistakes along the way, I don't like their chances at all.”

    BUT, THIS! ^^^^^^^^^^

On the basis of the evidence, I don’t trust McDs capabilities in these situations. As people have pointed out, his TO mgt. is poor and his challenge Mgt. is horrendous!

Worse, what does he IMPART during those TOs? I will NEVER forgive him for ‘13 Seconds’! Cost the Bills their first SB- imho. Because, during those TO situations, he did NOT bang heads before the kickoff PLUS when the D took the field to design exact coverage and interference of the Chief’s only 2 players!

Yesterday, the superior team FUBARed it away. Through, terrible time management, poor decision making, errors, the idiot Kicker- whatever.

Losing doesn’t discourage me at all. Playing stupid and/or making stupider decisions, really does.

    Get it cleaned up, McD.

0-7 is a terrible record in close games. It means you’ve never been up to the task.

You want to win games by less points? Lol insane take.  Well let’s go through what you are blaming coaching for..I saw a lot of bad execution on a handful of plays where we only needed one of those plays to hit to win the game.

Based on Ken Dorsey going full hulk on the coaching booth I’m gonna say McKenzie was not coached to stay in bounds there lol it was a busted play to begin with though because our offensive line was absolute garbage due to injuries.  Not to mention the drive was on schedule time management wise until the holding call.

I see people talking about how we should’ve challenged the gabe drop…there’s no chance we win that.  McD would’ve been flamed even harder for wasting a timeout there

The main thing I see that can be criticized is the 3rd and 22 and that’s a classic case of hindsight is 20/20.  We could’ve sent more pass rushers but there’s no guarantee they would’ve gotten home.

Only on this board  can your qb have nearly 450 yards of total offense and be the reason the team lost. My goodness people are spoiled by how incredible this kid is. For those us who remember trying to talk Kyle Orton out of retirement to stabilize the qb position will savor every moment. And yes he’s still the MVP favorite by a mile.

I don’t think people have ever run for their life for 3 straight hours in 100 degree heat then bashed their hand on someone’s helmet before throwing an out into decent coverage lol. I will never understand how josh was even upright late in that game.

We had tons of opportunities to win that game that had nothing to do with josh also.  He did much more than enough to win

Still think that was a catch. 2 feet down with control before the ball is stripped. Couldn't believe it wasn't even talked about on the broadcast, much less challenged.

That’s not getting overturned in a review anyway though

    His odds have actually improved.

    Josh Allen +340
    Patrick Mahomes +550
    Lamar Jackson +700
    Jalen Hurts +850
    Justin Herbert +1200
    Tua Tagovailoa +1500
    Aaron Rodgers +2000
    Matthew Stafford +2200
    Joe Burrow +2500
    Tom Brady +2600

As they should’ve…he was insanely good in that game but people are salty he missed that throw and we didn’t win.  We lose that game by 35 with anyone else.

People are complaining about the short throws?

lol that is absurd…that was literally the gameplan. Miami kept sending the house with cover 0 blitzes and we wanted to keep our defense on the sideline.  Hard to point to just that throw as why we lost the game…we had a bunch of different opportunities to win it.  Not to mention he had just smashed his hand on someone’s helmet.

definitely paints a target on their back, like NE last year.  And like NE, we will probably WANT to see them in playoffs too.  Just hope we can stay healthy.

We should be able to stack W’s after the bye…. But I’m a tad bit concerned about how we will be looking going into the bye, both record-wise and injury-wise.

Ravens, Steelers, chiefs… those are gonna be 3 more very physical games. Smh.  I know this might sound good to anyone right now, because we all want to be 5-1 going into that bye, but I’d be plenty satisfied with 4-2 / 2-1 over the next 3……. Just with knowing what our schedule looks like coming out of the Bye

unfortunately, Miami’s schedule is a lot more vanilla tho (imo) so we need the Bengals to take care of biz (I think at home?)

I’m the same way…on a single game basis I’m not at all worried.  That was one of the flukey-ist losses we have ever had...even more so than the wind game.  At least in the wind game it was pretty clear NE was running the football well.

We went down to 100 degree Miami on a short week missing 6 starters, lost an additional 5 starters and still outgained them by hundreds of yards and doubled their time of possession.  I think we win that game 90 times out of 100.  Could make our upcoming schedule tough though depending on the injuries.  I think Miami’s luck is going to run out and they’re going to start dropping some games to decent teams

not sure which board you were looking at but I checked in at “fin heaven” and the general consensus was they just won a game they had no business winning.  Several fans pointed out the 40 min TOP, missed fg, dropped pick six by Milano. It definitely wasn’t lost on them that every single break in that game went their way.  Reminded me a lot of the Jags loss last year actually..

Anyway in just 4 days they play the Bengals. Hopefully they’ll run out of miracles on TNF.

Felt like a tough luck game to me…seems like the gameplan was long sustained drives to keep our defense off the field and we were planning on rotating some players in but the offensive line injuries really killed us.  I don’t expect to lose the rematch but we’ve gotta go out and beat baltimore now.

feels a lot like the NE wind game last year where we lost and everyone proclaimed them the new team to beat but then their luck ran out of either playing bad teams or good teams with tons of injuries

Bills left 20 points on the field today. Dropped TD by davis , a short missed Fg, a muffed exchange at the end of the half for a FG and I forget the other TD issue.

Who cares? Do you doubt that the bills at full strength would have demolished the fish? See you in the SB

Dropped pick six too…I wouldn’t call that Davis td a drop but it’s certainly a ball he could’ve come down with….the defender made a nice play

Couldn’t disagree more. The big uglies were not to blame today. You don’t get those kind of disparities in yardage, first downs etc getting whipped in the trenches. The skill positions failed at key moments leaving points off the board. That’s really it. Bills should have had 30 or more today including the safety.

I mean the ol was objectively terrible but josh Allen did josh Allen things to somewhat overcome it

Not blaming anything in particular but I’d like to see numbers we looked pretty decimated today.  A lot of bodies were out.  Are there other team that have numbers like the Bills?

No one has ever had numbers like the bills that game I don’t think…we were down 11 starters in the second half and that doesn’t even include a few backups that replaced starters that got hurt.

the dolphins were pretty banged up too by normal nfl standards but it wasn’t even remotely close to what happened to us

I didn't even think of that. I did like the fact that he pointed out about all the players out on defense instead of praising the fins or tua

I just don’t know how you’re supposed to win when 6 ‘starters’ are out on defense AND only dion Dawkins is left on the offensive line.   It’s pretty dang incredible that came down to the final drive on the road in a classic September miami is way too hot game

The defense played great excluding Frazier's 3rd & 22 mental meltdown where he only rushed 3 players.  The problem was that no one expected the Bills to play long stretches of the game with less then half their offensive starters.  For crying out loud, we had our THIRD STRING CENTER out there!

Did the defense play great?  We don’t even know.  Our offense kept their offense off the field

I’d say today was his worse game of the season so far. Despite the INT (I’m only counting one, as the other wasn’t on him), the Rams was his best, closely followed by the Titans. I don’t think missing half the offensive starters prevents him from completing a 5 yard pass.

I do wonder why our red zone play was a mess on the second quarter. We could move the ball up the field at will but, when we hit the red zone, we couldn’t convert.

I think it was his best game of the season imo but the judgement gets a little clouded because we lost.   these top tier qbs are obviously gonna be able to sit in a clean pocket and absolutely roast a team like in the rams game.  That’s not particularly impressive imo.  The amount of production he got behind that practice squad caliber offensive line today was insane.

he had a few interceptable balls in the titans game on way less passing attempts also.

watching Tony dungy not even mentioning we were missing 5 olinemen is comical

Virgil, I agree with your take 100%. Of course you knew you would get slack when you criticized Allen. Allen wasn't the steady rock we've grown spoiled to see. Of course, it as due to the injuries and perhaps the heat. It wasn't all ob Allen. It was a team loss via miscues. Allen especially in the 2nd half just wasn't as consistent as he needed to be. He seemed panicked at times and made rookie like throws at times. Especially, that series in the end where the Bill's failed to score. Your franchise QB has to get a TD. To boot, he short armed a sure TD to little dirty. He will make That throw 99 out of 100 times. That just can't happen!!! Allen needed to be superman today. That's a bit unfair to him. Maybe that's too high of a bar? It is a team.game too and the depleted oline sucked in the 2nd half.  He will no doubt come back better. Allen is the least of this teams worries.

Well yea but you agreed with us in your sentence disagreeing with us by adding ‘….it was due to the injuries’ lol Allen was carrying the worst offensive line ever assembled late in that game and he threw 60+ passes they’re not all gonna be perfect.  No other human on earth would’ve kept his team in the game that was like mahomes vs TB in the Super Bowl level poor offensive line play.

of course if they were playing in perfect conditions with injuries turned off some of us would’ve been a little more disappointed in some of the missed opportunities

  21. 2 minutes ago, PatsFanNH said:

Ravens you have to cover Andrews, he killed the Pats today. That said it sounded like Jackson was under  instant pressure so I can see you guys stopping their O and well Jones and the Pats put up 26 points on their D… so Allen should have a field day w Diggs on that secondary.. (Parker had 155 yards)

Depends on the injury report… our entire secondary being out is one thing but losing like 5 players on the offensive line today was just rude lol

  22. 3 minutes ago, Billz4ever said:

3rd and 22, 3-man rush.  How do you allow a deep ball that wide open with 8 in coverage?  That was the time to bring pressure.  If your secondary is decimated, you don't give the opposing QB time to find the holes.

That was the play of the game in my view.

I’m arbitrarily choosing to blame the Matt Milano dropped pick six that hit him right in the mitts but there’s a lot to choose from
