  1. In 88, I was a kid who waited an hour in line at Hills for Bruce Smith’s autograph. (Funny how many of us did this.) When I was three people away, they announced it was over and he got up to leave. I followed him to the parking lot, this was about 7pm and it was dark, and as he was getting into his car I yelled out like a moron, “Bruce, I hope you sack Marino on Sunday!” (We we’re playing the Phins.) He smiled, shrugged, and said “Thanks, kid.” A couple years ago I got to have dinner with Thurman and he was super cool. Also paid for an expensive dinner for all five people, cracked jokes, and even talked about old games a little. You could see he loves the current team and roots hard for them. Just an awesome, warm dude. I had to connect it in my mind that this friendly and kind person was the same human did all those things I watched growing up.
  2. Sunday forecast: sunny with a high of 57 degrees. Fall
  3. Yup, pretty nutty weather month! But the craziest thing is when Josh said "hand to Bible" he didn't know we were playing the Chiefs next week. Talk about taking it one game at a time. That's incredible.
  4. Honestly? Buffalo 39, Pittsburgh 9. We roll. Running game gets back on track. Josh efficient. Diggs and Shakir produce in the absence of anyone else! Von gets 3 sacks.
  5. I wish we could run this sneak on regular 3rd and 4th and 1s!
  6. Had to watch the second half alone. Focus all calm energies on the Bills. Thank God I did!
  7. He talks about how hard it is to stay out of fights and how he’d rather “spend time at home with an acquaintance” than go out drinking. Not very believable phrasing. Way too many people I grew up with in Buffalo never got anywhere because of constant drinking and partying.
  8. Two facts that might be related: the Phins treated their QB this way and their owner is Stephen Ross. People like Ross find ways around the rules; hire lackeys everywhere; find loyalists to run the protocols; game the system to have "success" at any cost, etc. He did the same stuff in real estate, getting city permission to build Hudson Yards in New York, which looks like a massive skyscraper / shopping mall from Dubai was dropped into the city and which no one needed or likes.
  9. The tape of his head slamming against the turf after Milano pushed him, and his groggy reaction and subsequent collapse, is evidence of a concussion, no matter what he said or even thought at the time. It is very possible that he passed the protocol but still had a concussion. If this is a nothingburger, why was the NFLPA investigating it even before the horrific concussion with full fencing response yesterday?
  10. Surprised to read this. It’s pretty well known that it’s far easier to get concussed again with bad consequences while recovering from a concussion, which from all visible evidence (head slamming to the turf, confusion, wobbly legs) it appeared Tua had against the Bills.
  11. Also, the Chiefs were drained from their game with us. We might have been too, but I think we would have beaten the Bengals.
  12. His career could be over
  13. Well aren’t you a tough guy?
  14. Stephen Ross is human scum. We've known that but this is more proof. Tua should not play again for this season. They're going to kill him or turn him into a vegetable, and the Dolphins clearly do not care. This is sickening.
  15. We need to win our division. Go Bengals.
  16. So that’s why they call ya the Brown Bear.
  17. Maybe the Bills were really going for an undefeated season? That kind of reaction to a week three loss is hard to explain unless you don’t want to lose at all this year. I have a feeling they will torch Baltimore.
  18. Trial by fire today. I think Buffalo comes through! LET’S GO.
  19. I love this thread. Let’s go Stef!
  20. We are gonna kick some tail. I noticed Tua's deep passes to Tyreek were about 3 yards underthrown, but Hill was so far ahead of the defender that he could slow down to wait for the ball and still have separation. McDermott and Frazier will have seen it too. They will play our defensive backs very deep, and Tua doesn't have the arm strength to fire deep outs. I don't see them being able to stay with us.
  21. YES. Also I think Daboll schemed to get guys open in a way that made it tougher for them to run after the catch. This year Diggs is running all kinds of routes and if it keeps up he will show how incredible he is with the ball too, not just as a route runner. (He used to be a great punt returner.) Gabe returning will take his stats down a little (kind of like Reed once Loften joined) but Diggs should easily catch 1400 yards and 10 touchdowns this year, and if the cards fall right it could be like a legendary 130 catches, 1700 yards, 17 TD kind of year!
  22. It might be a sign of my age, but my method in the European time zone is to go to sleep at 9pm and set the alarm for 2am for night games. Then I can skip the commercials for a while and catch up to the live broadcast by the second quarter Hard to sleep after a Bills game, win or lose.
