It is unlikely others in the room are privy to McDermotts and Beanes private conversations. They could be reporting 100% accurately what the see. But what they see is very unlikely the whole picture.

I don't know if discussing the Dolphins as a contender is exactly laughable. Lots of football to go, but if the season end now, for the Bills to advance to the Super Bowl, (and things otherwise went according to seed), we would have to through Baltimore in Baltimore, KC in KC, and Miami in Miami. Betting odds are probably the most accurate indicator of likelyhoods. It seems reasonable for people to have them in the discussion at his point in time.
