This year is a Super Bowl or bust year. You think they brought Von Miller here for his play in Sept thru Dec. This was a "final piece" move. Miller is here for what he can bring in Jan/Feb. The Bills are all in this year. No way this team flies under the radar. Both the national/local media as well as the fanbase have the highest expectations for them.

The greatest pass route of all time was run by Franco Harris with the immaculate reception. Everybody knows that

How many prime time games do you think the Bills will play this season?

Considering the Bills are 0-4 on the road in the playoffs with McDermott but 3-0 at home I hope we get the #1 seed. It seems the Bills really need it. -
NBC announces new 'Sunday Night Football' broadcast crew:

I wonder if Kirk Herbstreit will eventually switch over to NFL broadcasts fulltime. I know he is Mr. College Football but he will be doing TNF with Al Michaels this year and he has already done some NFL games in recent seasons. -

The coin toss means nothing to me TBH. Their never should have been a coin toss period. 13 seconds was the game. McDermott has done a good job overall but these collapses late in games have to stop. Hail Mary, the Texans playoff game, and the most painful one of all 13 seconds. This team IMHO at minimum should be in the Super Bowl this year as long as injuries don't play a factor. I get they will lose games as every team does but these types of gut wrenches losses (when we appear to have the game won) have to stop.

I don't think the Bills get the Thanksgiving day game. Buffalo at Detroit probably wont be competitive. Also the Bills have been on Turkey day twice in the last 3 years. Miami has a decent team and will probably get some primetime games as well. Or it could be a long time rival like the Bears at Lions. CBS and FOX do have those crossover games where CBS will have an all NFC matchup and FOX has had an all AFC matchup. Their are better teams/games for the Bills to be on primetime than the Lions. I will make one surprise pick and say the Bills get a primetime game against the Jets. They are a big market NYC area team so they will get one. They played on TNF last year against the Colts. So I could the Jets getting one against one of their top rivals. My guess Bills at Jets on MNF. Some of those "sexy" matchups the Bills will play will be the national games on CBS/FOX and probably with a 4:25 start. -
Could go with an experienced coach like Sean Payton. TB OC Byron Leftwich has been mentioned has someone who deserves a chance as an example for a first time coach. There would be plenty of options for Beane. I don't think McDermott would be fired this year unless something crazy happened like the Bills having a losing season then maybe it would be discussed. I do think questions will start to come up if he can be the guy to win a championship if the Bills don't at least make the Super Bowl. That is a different take then saying he should be fired.

Report circulating that Apple will be 2023 home to Sunday Ticket

That will suck for me. I was hoping the NFLN would also carry it. -

The only reason why I have DirecTV is because of the NFL's Sunday ticket. If they lose that then I could see many people dropping them. Question about Thursday night football next season. Is that only on Amazon next year or will the NFLN carry it as well? -
Every year no. This is year 6 of McDermott. At some point he has to produce. 0-4 on the road in the playoffs. Collapsed in the playoff game at Houston. 13 seconds which I still don't understand how that happened given KC had the ball starting at their own 25. I will say it again I don't think he gets fired if the Bills don't make the Super Bowl but it is fair to question if he is the guy to lead them to a championship if he fails again. Which means his seat starts to get hot. He doesn't get to keep the job for life either if he can't produce.
-
That would be up to Beane and the Pegula's. But if you want a name then Sean Payton is available just as an example. I don't want McDermott fired but he has to produce with the roster he has. Coaches are in the business of winning and if you don't win then you know what happens. The Bills aren't rebuilding anymore. They are expected to win and compete for a Super Bowl. The pressure is on McDermott this season bigtime. Both from the local/national media and the fanbase.

Says who. Gase was hired first by the Jets and he was instrumental in the Jets hiring Joe Douglas as the GM. Douglas is still the GM. Is Gase still the Jets coach? I am not saying McDermott gets fired if the Bills don't win the Super Bowl. But I do think his seat gets hot as far as questions will start to come about if he can be the guy to lead the Bills to a championship. This will be year 6 of McDermott. At some point he has to produce.

I think McDermott goes on the hot seat if this team doesn't at least get to the Super Bowl. They have the talent to win it. The Miller signing is a "final piece" kind of move. I give McDermott credit for changing the culture of this franchise. I give him credit for 4 playoff appearances in 5 years as well as B2B AFCE titles. But that isn't good enough anymore. The Pegula's have spent a lot money and Beane has given him a roster he should win with. Its time to see the results. To me this is a Super Bowl or bust type of season. I know it won't be easy as the AFC is loaded with good teams/QB's. But if this team can stay healthy then they should be playing in Feb. IMHO

I wonder how many STH's both the Rams and Chargers have? LA isn't a great football market so even with it being the opener I bet the Bills fans would represent in large numbers. Last year I think every Rams/Chargers game there had a good amount of visiting fans. Some visiting teams had more fans then others but every visiting team had a decent turnout of fan support. -

I wonder if the league will want to embarrass the Rams by having the Bills as the week one opponent. Bills fans would take over the stadium and for the Rams to raise their championship banner it would embarrassing if the majority of the crowd was booing. You know Bills fans will represent big time in LA. -
Who's in the inner circle for Draft Day discussions?
Greg S replied to Commish's topic in The Stadium Wall
At the time they were hired Terry said both men will report to him but when it comes to putting the roster together (draft/FA) that it is Beane who has the final say. When it comes to the coaching decisions(running practices, mini camp, training camp, obviously the games) then it is McDermott. I am sure both talk all the time and discuss strategy of what they want to do but according to Pegs that is how the power structure of the organization goes.
