Would you prefer to make the playoffs or get the #1 pick?
Greg S replied to JetsFan20's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Forget the Patriots. Take a look at these stats. Since 1970 the Steelers have a regular season record of 444-282-2 (.635) and an overall record of 480-305-2 (.635). They have made the playoffs 30 times, won their division 22 times, played in 16 AFC championship games, 8 Super Bowls, 6 Lombardi Trophies. Since 1969 they have had only 3 head coaches, Chuck Noll 1969-91, Bill Cowher 1992-06, Mike Tomlin 2007- present. I want the Bills to try and follow the Steelers way of doing things. They not the Patriots are the real model franchise to follow. -

Even though the Rangers are an original 6 team, play in MSG, and have an extremely large fanbase, they aren't a high profile team with the NYC media. The media here could care less about hockey. When it comes to sports in the NY Metro area its all about the Giants, Jets, Yankees, Mets, and Knicks. -

I thought it would be like that as well. While its certainly different given the times you still want your team to win. For me with the Isles and the NHL playoffs I will be cheering them on like I always do. When the Bills kickoff against the Jets it will be the same thing. I will be cheering them on just like I would during a normal year. -

McDavid wears an Oilers sweater and how is that working out for them in terms of winning. The Rangers have a good young team already. I give them credit as they have done a nice job rebuilding their team. If he pans out then its great for the Rangers but lets see how he does. Some picks are successful and live up to the hype (Peyton Manning) others don't (Ryan Leaf). -

I'm an Islander fan and you can enjoy the #1 pick. I will enjoy Isles-Caps playoffs. One more day until they drop the puck. -
Some nerve racking moments in the 4th quarter but Bill Simpson with one of the biggest INT's in Bills history. I was there and it was my first great Bills memory. The game shouldn't have been as a close as it was but an exciting win just the same.

How Excited Are You About The 2020 Season?
Greg S replied to H2o's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Not going to the games is what I will miss the most. Tailgating before the game is a big part of it as well as being in the stadium. -
If the Bills were looking at a rebuild then this could be a good idea. Their window to win is open now. White is one of the best shutdown corners in the league. Beane will have to figure out the money/salary cap but I want to see them win a Super Bowl in the next few years and players like White help you do that. Joe Douglas is doing the right thing for the Jets as they are rebuilding. The Jets having 4 1st Rd picks in the next 2 years is a very good situation to be in since they aren't in a win now mode right now.

You can definitely see it with baseball but with hockey covering the stands with a tarp it doesn't seem as noticeable. Nothing is normal this year and that includes sports but I think hockey is doing a good job with these "playoffs" so far. -

Football season is the best time of year. If this were a normal year I would be excited more than usual because the Bills are a good team on the upswing. But given the times I know that playing a full season is iffy at best which has me not as excited. -
Allen vs Mahomes Throw-Off Challenge Officially On?
Greg S replied to Sharp1128's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Fauci can kick both of their asses throwing a ball. -
I think they are just jealous because Andy Dalton Jr I mean Sam Darnold isn't as successful as Allen has been. Their number #1 cheerleader "SAR" says the Jets are a lock to win the division. Many of them agreed so they can't use the "Allen has a better team around him" excuse if they really believe that.

https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2020/08/04/new-xfl-owners-love-having-eight-teams-and-eventually-having-more-than-eight/ They will try to expand eventually. Hope they can make it work. Football in the spring would be nice as the offseason for the NFL is a long one.

That is something Vince McMahon would do. I think he actually tried that the first time the XFL was around. I think the Rock played college football for the "U". He got hurt and that ended any hopes of an NFL career. I don't think he would bring wrestling into this as he is actually a football fan.
