    It's still a week out but right now it's looking like a nice day. Some sunshine, temps in the 30's, minimal wind and no precipitation.

    Yeah, after leaving Saffold's hip Dawkins wasn't even set up in passpro yet when Cook cut him, which is why I thought they might be trying to call the reverse chop where somebody engages above the waist after the cut. Either way, it just looked to me like an official looking for any excuse to justify his existence. 🤷‍♂️

    They likely called it according to the rule referring to a "reverse chop", but suggesting that Dawkins actually engaged with the rusher is a significant stretch.

    60 yrds into a shoebox on 3rd and long knowing he's about to get hit. #17 is a problem.

    He was making good decisions, was on time and was extremely accurate for the majority of the game. He played well by anybody's standard until they got two scores down and he started forcing things.

    I thought he slid late and both guys laid off him even though they made some contact. I was more worried about a flag flying at Taron Johnson for going high when he stuck a defenseless receiver

    From the bits I heard, I thought they were both tuned in and on the ball today.

    It was definitely right on the edge; I wouldn't have argued very hard for or against a call either way.

    It was a LB and there is no rule saying he has to look back for the ball; he was playing the receivers hands, which is legal if you're not too early.

    I saw him on the sidelines today. I think it was the first time he's been comfortable enough to be that close to the action

    I won't argue that Purdy is doing it all by himself or that he isn't in a perfect situation for a rookie; my take has just been that he's the best QB on the roster and makes the 49ers far more dangerous than they would be with Garoppolo or Lance.

    I'm guessing that either Phillips thought he was OK or convinced the staff that he was, even when he wasn't healed and ready. If they knew what kind of shape he was in, they probably would not have made him one of the 4 active DT's. When it came apart on him in the middle of the 2nd qrtr, it just left them in a really bad situation.

    It was so far beyond this that he is lucky to still be posting here. But things were crazy and we were all freaking out so we'll forget about it and move on. 🤙

    They're only dressing 4 DTs and want to run them in a heavy rotation. Being down to 3 really hurts them.

    It wasn't my claim, it was the excuse others were making for the toughness and smart play he displayed the minute he stepped on the field.

    He set a personal record by breaking not one, but two tackles today and I only saw him lost on offense once, which might also be a personal best. Props to him for sticking with it and getting better.

    Brock Purdy with another 3TDs, no turnovers and 75% completion. He's now played 6 games, which is more than most folks were suggesting that it would take D coordinators to "figure him out". Maybe next week?
