Tua ruled out vs Buffalo, Skylar Thompson expected to start
Simon replied to Process's topic in The Stadium Wall
I'm probably just subconsciously playing devil's advocate but watching the front 6/7 get blown off the ball for 3 qrtrs a few weeks ago gives me dangerous visions of McCarthy for once in his career not outthinking himself and instead continuing to hammer at the ground game to suck up clock, wear down a banged-up DL and limit Allen's possessions. Also a little uncomfortable at never having even seen Skylar play and not knowing what he can do well enough to be on an NFL roster. Does he have a light arm but a lightning release that can create problems for us when we're giving Waddle/Hill big cushions on early downs? Does he have fast feet if they decide to show us a bunch of read option that we're not likely to be spending much time prepping for? Is he the kind of sneaky athlete that makes guys take bad angles when they haven't seen him and we end up getting Blake Bortled all day? Or having known all week they won't have Tua or Mostert, are they going to have been practicing to spring a bunch of jet sweeps and bubble screens on a team that usually tackles well, but not always? I agree that McDermott will have them ready as he seems to be getting better at that aspect of the job the longer he's here. And there's really nothing on paper that would make you think that we're going to lose a game where we limit penalties, avoid turning the ball over and don't run around with our rifle pointed at our feet. I think I've just got those playoff nerves mixed with a bit of a belief that we're ultimately fated to bow out earlier than we'd like and unnecessarily worried that it will be against a division rival. Paranoia, the destroya... -

Wouldn't N2O be more appropriate? -

The phish average over 7.5 yrds a carry against the Bills front; Buffalo's ballcarriers averaged less than half of that. We trailed by 8 in that game with less than 10:00 left and if Ma Nature had not started firing snowballs in Miami's grill, we may have lost to them. If McCarthy had not lost his mind and started chucking the ball around while they were successfully hammering it down our throat, we would have lost to them. I agree there is potential for a big win here, but there is also some potential for the Bills to walk out there overconfident, get pushed around and find themselves in the kind of dog fight they weren't prepared for coming in. -

For all y'all out there talking about how we have a bye now, I'd suggest you go back and watch the film from the last time we played the phish and take a real good look at the physical ass-kicking that this Bills team took up front on both sides of the LOS. The Bills are a better team and should win this game but if they walk in there thinking like some folks here are thinking, they could find themselves playing from behind at any point in that kind of phone booth brawl.- 455 replies

How is Skip Bayless employed as a sport analyst??

You care enough not only to watch it, but to start a whole new thread about it in an attempt to get other people to also watch it. You are the mark. -
I thought that is sounded a bit muted after the initial 15 minutes of madness. Probably a combination of exhaustion and the realization setting in that this is what we're going to be dealing with regarding the Bills defense the rest of the season.

It's still a week out but right now it's looking like a nice day. Some sunshine, temps in the 30's, minimal wind and no precipitation.

Yeah, after leaving Saffold's hip Dawkins wasn't even set up in passpro yet when Cook cut him, which is why I thought they might be trying to call the reverse chop where somebody engages above the waist after the cut. Either way, it just looked to me like an official looking for any excuse to justify his existence. 🤷♂️ -
The Bills played with a lot of love in their hearts today

He's talking about Spencer Brown getting rolled up on, not John Brown. -
Try again.....

They likely called it according to the rule referring to a "reverse chop", but suggesting that Dawkins actually engaged with the rusher is a significant stretch. -

60 yrds into a shoebox on 3rd and long knowing he's about to get hit. #17 is a problem. -

He was making good decisions, was on time and was extremely accurate for the majority of the game. He played well by anybody's standard until they got two scores down and he started forcing things. -
I don't think that's a good comparison at all.

I thought he slid late and both guys laid off him even though they made some contact. I was more worried about a flag flying at Taron Johnson for going high when he stuck a defenseless receiver -
From the bits I heard, I thought they were both tuned in and on the ball today.

It was definitely right on the edge; I wouldn't have argued very hard for or against a call either way. -

It was a LB and there is no rule saying he has to look back for the ball; he was playing the receivers hands, which is legal if you're not too early. -
I saw him on the sidelines today. I think it was the first time he's been comfortable enough to be that close to the action
