The 4th quarter unnecessary roughness penalty on the Steeelers.

Look, im glad the bills won, and any penalty the Bills get in their favor, I feel is great, after 17 years of us seeing other teams benefit from bad calls. But the NFL needs to really evaluate whats considered a late hit on a QB slide. I really dont think he was hit late on that. I think as Allen starts to slide, the defender has pretty much already left his feet. Allen is still sliding as he gets hit, showing how "not late" it was.

What do you guys think? Not just thinking about it from the Bills point of view, but football in general.

They’re not going to change any rules that potentially endanger QBs. Just not going to happen. You claim Allen is still sliding when contact is made and that shows the hit wasn’t late. The QB is protected once he *begins* his slide. That’s why the ball is spotted where it is on QB slides - at the beginning of the slide. So the hit was, by definition, LATE. And that definition isn’t going to change.

Allen with the blatant fake slide on the long run, then later draws a 15 yard penalty on a late hit on slide where the defender didn't hit his head.....but can you blame him for going for the tackle based on the fake earlier?

The slide is a play intended to protect the QB, not to do what Allen did.  That was garbage.

No, the fact that some idiot posted a video showing light snow in some part of the Buffalo area does not mean the winter storm is “fake news” or that there isn’t real and sound public safety reason for a driving ban

Yes, “Lake effect snow” is a known and common phenomenon in Western New York.  School kids grow up knowing all about it.

Yes, it shows up very well on radar.  Heavy snow in one location and almost no snow a few miles away

    Apparently I’m not alone:

Eric Wood started here, and basically ended telling people to “come see him” LOL

I just hope Josh Allen opened his gate so it didn’t freeze shut or get snowed in, and I hope we don’t need Squirrel Winter’s QB Delivery Service

Lol some people just don’t get it and that’s cool! But yeah that barstool steelers guy self owned so hard it was hard to read/watch.

As a Buffalonian I have a major problem with Buffalo can’t afford a dome stadium because we are too poor yet lowly Syracuse has had a dome stadium for 40 plus years and New York State helped pay for a private school not even part of SUNY. While both our football teams the Buffalo Bills and UB Bulls have crapy outdoor stadiums from another time with cost cutting and savings. We are the second largest city in this state. Regardless of what some on this board want to believe the money was there and Buffalo chose a half a loaf instead of the whole loaf. We saw it over and over with both Pilot Field and Key Bank Center with half the elevators cut from the final design. And Buffalo paid the price with major delays with the elevators for the disabled which I happen to be a disabled fan. Buffalo Bills fans shouldn’t be silence for telling it like it is. The story was made up about no money for a dome and Orchard Park was the only logical place. Just admit it folks we were all lied too. I am ok with the new Bills stadium but I am not ok with the parroting talking points of the Bills and our political leaders that flat out lied to this community. While New York City has spared no expense for the new Islanders arena, the Nets arena, New York City FC new soccer specific stadium, two ball parks for the Yankees, Mets, the dome over the US Open Tennis Center and the total renovation of Belmont Park where the final length of the Horse Racing triple crown is held just to name a few. Mean while in Buffalo we are cutting cost on a 50 year project of a new Bills stadium and of course UB Stadium still has a track around it only one other FBS stadium in country is left after UB Stadium that has a track around the football field along with a lite brite scoreboard from another time. But all is wonderful, wonderful in Western New York sports land in my opinion. Go Bills! Go Bulls! Let’s Go Buffalo

What on Earth are you talking about? “Half a loaf?” The public subsidy for New Highmark stadium was $850million. The largest in history, until surpassed by the Titans. Half a loaf.

I know these facts (or any facts) don’t interest you, but that doesn’t mean they don’t exist:

-New Highmark ($1.7B cost) - $600M in NY state funding (35%)

    -New Yankee Stadium ($2.3B) - $115M (5%)

    -UBS Islanders Arena ($1.6B) - $68M (5%)

    -Barclay’s Center ($1.0B) - $100M (10%)

    -Citi Field ($830M) - $96M (12%)

NYC made contributions to some of these as well, but the Islanders arena you cite received $0 in City funding. Talk about “sparing no expense”!! 😂

I've lived in Buffalo and Western New York my entire life and this is nothing out of the ordinary

There would have been no problem in or out of the stadium at 1:00 p.m. today

It’s about logistics and allocation of emergency resources. No one cares that Buff716 knows how to drive in the snow.

Moving the game up arguably is more detrimental to the teams’ preparedness than postponing it. The league’s not going to make that call 72+ hours out either way.

Now we were scheduled from Sunday for the get-go...

But they knew this was possible since Wednesday Thursday and yeah early Saturday easily could have been playable

“Playable” isn’t the issue. Not sure why so many of you don’t get this.

That isn’t accurate according to the new stadium show the Buffalo Bills did for YouTube Terry Pegula was quoted that the NFL owners questioned another open air stadium in Buffalo in league meetings? So it wasn’t the NFL owners this is what Terry Pegula wanted and some of the Bills season ticket holders wanted. It also helped it was the cheapest option. I don’t see Buffalo ever building another football only stadium ever again after this stadium with the way the general public feels about enriching billionaire sports owners this is it. The new stadium will be one of the best future CFL stadiums because that is where Buffalo is heading. You don’t need a dome when the CFL season ends at Thanksgiving which is weather wise more conducive to Western New York weather and wallet. Most likely the Casino will own the team or the Jacobs family or someone completely new on the scene in Western New York in the future. When this new Bills stadium ages out along with Terry Pegula I don’t see the Buffalo Bills staying in Buffalo anymore? Unless Western New York goes through a economic boom which I don’t see happening population is actually leaving New York State. The new open air stadium will fine for our Buffalo Wings the 10th franchise in the CFL. I am sure some Bills fans will be bitter but overtime time heels and you go to what you have in town. It will be like the Buffalo Bandits NLL lacrosse rivalries with Toronto, Hamilton, Montreal and Ottawa.

Orchard Park location works well for the stadium because the land has no value if the stadium was in the downtown core you would risk losing the new stadium to land developers in the future. Nothing is ever happening in Orchard Park so when the new Bills stadium is 30 years old it will still be productive as a CFL stadium/concert venue. Just telling it like it is with our economics. The Buffalo Bills can win 7 Super Bowls with Josh Allen and it’s not stopping the shortcomings of Western New York economically plus factoring in so many cities want NFL franchises. If Western New York couldn’t afford a dome now it won’t be any better 30 years from now. Hope I am wrong but I am 56 years old so in 30 years it won’t affect me as a Bills fan enjoy the next 30 years it will be our last years in the NFL. But at the end of day so what the CFL is a good fun football league which is what sports are all about fun in my opinion. Go Bills! Let’s Go Buffalo

56? buddy based in how you write I thought you were 13. Yeesh. Maybe time to change your account name again. How many times have you done that this year? Like 3?

There is no reason to be in Nickel base defence in this game. Against Mason Rudolph in the wind and snow they will not be passing the ball. They are going to run and run over and over. I feel like it will take McD having a couple TD’s scored against him to get out of Nickel and hope it’s not too late when points will be at a premium. It’s the only way Pit can win.

Go heavy and stop the run for the win. Also absolutely no need for Von Miller out there. Use Shaq and Kingsley and secure the edges go big.

There’s a very good reason - his name’s Taron Johnson.

Thought it might be interesting, as we head into the playoffs, to discuss a few times in recent seasons that we were all wrong and Brandon Beane was right:

    - "Wrong Josh" - don't you wish you had Josh Rosen right now?

    - "Undersized LB" - letting Tremaine Edmunds walk and replacing him with a tiny LB in Terrel Bernard?? Disaster!

    - "Pay Shaq! Pay Phillips! Pay Poyer!" - Beane let all of them walk and all of them came back on cheaper contracts.

    - "Don't pay Ed!" - Remember your reaction when you saw the big Ed Oliver contract?

    - "Another RB who can't handle a full workload!" - Cook is way too small to ever be a true lead back.

    - "Pay Gabe Davis" - what a difference a year makes. Wish we locked Gabe up last year at $12M/yr.

    - "FIRE MCDERMOTT" - this would have been Beane's call, if it happened.

I'm sure there are many more, but those are just from the top of my head.

How about that Rasul Douglas trade?

    2022 Draft Class:

    1st - Elam - TBD

    2nd - Cook - STUD

    3rd - Bernard - STUD

    5th - Shakir - STUD

    6th - Benford - STUD

    7th - Spector - Possibly good depth!

    2023 Draft Class:

    1st - Kincaid - STUD

    2nd - Torrence - STUD

    3rd - Dorian - TBD

    5th - Shorter - TBD

7th - Broeker + Austin - our team was too deep to keep them

    Beane has been en fuego.

    Do you have any others?

    Who is “we” exactly?

And McDermott doesn’t report to Beane, he reports directly to Terry. That’s been widely and repeatedly reported. So your little attempt to scold people is, on its face, incorrect.

We got the playoffs, we got the second seed, we got the home field advantage, we got the seventh seed team, but we still keep on worry very much, too much !

I mean, not that it would be a cake walk, but damn, we play at home, we have Josh Allen and they have Mason Rudolph, they are without their best player TJ WATT, but we still here in panic mode.

I really dunno: do you think, honestly, that the Chiefs fans, 49ers fans, Ravens fans, Eagles fans, etc, would they feel so worried like us for playing the TJ WATTless Steelers at home? I don’t think so.

So tell me, where start all this worry, all this fear about the sunday game ? Is that truly justified ?

I’m sorry, who is “WE”? I find it more concerning that you generalize the entire fanbase based on reading a couple of the chronic complainers here.

FWIW the Ravens are 3-8 without Lamar the past 3 years compared to 28-12 with him. Hard to know what the Bills would be without Allen because he always plays. But in 2021 Baltimore were in the #1 seed spot when Lamar got hurt and missed the playoffs. Last year they were the #2 seed when he got hurt and ended up as a wildcard who was 1 and done.

Lamar is pretty critical to the Ravens results. I am not sure there would be much difference between them without him and the Bills without Josh tbh...

I can. Jets. Eagles. Chargers. And that is just from the top of my head.

these are fans of the player not fans of the team @GunnerBill

my goodness 🤦‍♂️ . There are teams blowing up Vrabel’s phone RIGHT NOW for HC interviews dude.

  15. @transplantbillsfan Still making excuses for Allen when he has bad games. 🤦

Allen is very good. i would not trade him for any other QB right now.  He’s not the MVP this year sorry. His TD numbers and offensive production % are outstanding and push him into consideration yes, but that is absolutely not what “MVP” voters look at. It’s a glorified “QB on the best team” award.

who the F is betting on the WWE, by the. way??

    lol

Right. The “point” if you want to call it that people here and elsewhere are now clinging to is things like the WWE and NFL are both classified as “entertainment” or some such similar definition. Except they’re not. Not nowhere in the various laws that govern legal sports gambling will you see the NFL and the WWE as equivalent or in the same class. They are distinct and what you can bet on is subject to various state laws, not one overarching federal law.

basically some salty fan after the Eagles game went on truth social and scrolled around too much and this is what we get here now. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

    jeez, where to start??

First, the NFL doesn't "participate in sports betting" (anymore than they are participating in the manufacture of pickup trucks or beer)..betting companies are sponsors no doubt paying huge fee for the partnership.

Second, the ALL pro sports are simply entertainment and nothing else. Differentiating between "sport" and "entertainment"  is a meaningless exercise.  A casino, by definition, is a place of entertainment (literally, filled with "games" one can play)---and obviously legal betting happens there.

Third, Congress has no interest in reigning in the NFL--try campaigning on that.

BUT BUT BUT he heard somewhere that football be the same as wrasslin’ so we need to really, REALLY look into this now that these refs be making all these bad calls, ALL OF A SUDDEN!

  18. I love how we are now being schooled in the nuance of US gambling laws here.

“See actually, the NFL is this not that and blah, blah, blah…”

This was examined and litigated to death in actual courts with actual lawyers and actual experts after the Murphy ruling. It’s legal. And the refs were terrible before it was legal.

please find something else to cry about.
