  1. We still haven’t eclipsed that one. Maybe the Baltimore win to go to the AFC championship game. Seeing Kyle and the team react that way was special.
  2. Never said it was unique to him You do know who Jim Johnson, his mentor was? Perhaps you should put to rest the narrative that he doesn’t blitz and if you’re selling me that he can be forced out of Nickle on occasion let me hold back the applause. That’s like clapping for a 10 years olds first steps.
  3. This is McD’s defense. It’s the system he learned from Jim Johnson and modified during his time in Carolina. He is not flexible in changing the scheme. If he could truly step back and hire a DC that that plays a different system and mentor him, help him with concepts that he could sprinkle in. So be it, it would probably save his job but that’s not who McD is.
  4. That’s exactly what Brady has done. Everybody tried to shoot three pointers with Josh. To take this freak and see what freakish stuff they could do. Brady said let’s shoot layups. Let’s move the chains. Let’s create as much structure around this player who is as unstructured as any in the game. I agreed with it 1000% and think he deserves a ton of credit for that approach. He’s basically driving a Lambo at 50MPH. I just don’t think what he’s done here is transferable to other situations. We will see.
  5. I don’t think we would be even league average with Sam Darnold (as an example). Give Brady a replacement level QB and he will be fighting to keep his job ( we saw this once before in Carolina and we will again soon like Daboll when he leaves)
  6. Holy crap, we agree 😂 Brady gets an abnormal level of credit for Josh creating. I have no clue what our production is in the scheme itself but it’s not something I feel stands out in some extraordinary way. It’s the first time in Allen’s career he has had an OC that wanted him to drive the speed limit instead of 100 miles an hour. Allen never needed a system to be aggressive. He needed a system to force short throws and throws to the RB’s and staying on schedule. That is what Brady deserves credit for the most. He’s harnessed Allen’s talent.
  7. Lions have not been in that category for several weeks. I doubt they make the conference championship game. Injuries have just destroyed that team. Chiefs are probably right there especially given they tend to get it together in the postseason. I wouldn’t say that was the case earlier this year or even earlier last year. If I had to rank them now 1. Kansas City 2. Philadelphia 3. Baltimore 4. Buffalo 5. Detroit I also wouldn’t have an issue with a three way tie for 5th between all the NFC Central teams. Given the state of the Lions I would say Green Bay and the Vikings are with them.
  8. If you want to go by wins and points, sure, we look really good, now and this year as whole. If you want a more nuanced conversation we have benefited a massive amount from turnovers, been overwhelmed at times defensively, and have been fairly dependent on Allen going off schedule for extended periods. I wonder if the turnovers will extend against teams that are much better with the football? If not, what happens? So many games have swung on turnovers. Turnovers have saved this defense over and over this year. I’m certainly not downplaying that they generated these mistakes themselves, but again, what does it look like if they can’t or worse, we end up -1 or -2 in a game? We basically have our two statement wins, one vs KC which we have seen before and one against a Detroit team that is as injured as any in football. Impressive wins, sure, but alot of people here have taken those wins along with our record and said this team is + vs years past. Perhaps offensively they’re, but everything else is worse than years past. I also expect playoff level defenses to force Allen into more structure which will put pressure on Brady to scheme our guys open and call elite games. I’m confident we can put up some good results, but not historic levels, which is what I think it will take for us offensively to overcome other shortcomings. If we get stagnant even for a couple quarters it could be enough to send us home. Just no margin for error with this defense. To be perfectly honest this team appears to me like some serious fools gold. Even worse than years past. I know, I suck, bla bla So should McD go if they show themselves to be what I just said? I thought he should go prior. Still think he should go but I don’t expect that. I don’t think we will play the Bengals. If we do it becomes more plausible as a first round loss to them would be a pretty big black mark but it wouldn’t be enough this year in my opinion.
  9. I feel like the debate is more about moving up to get Thomas Jr. but the reality is this will prove to be one of the better WR drafts in a long time. Our guy is pretty good as well.
  10. I like this look on you.
  11. I just want to see the 90's threads again. I think we will get them for the final home game next year.
  12. I don't imagine Sean Payton and that defense will be an easy Wild Card out.
  13. You would think continuity would matter to some extent? Eagles change coordinators and now are an elite defense. Ravens change coordinators and they're evolving into an elite defense. Bills have the same system for nearly a decade with a defensive guru HC and they can't stop a nose bleed. I think the Lions had the top 2 DL, top 2 LB's, and 3 of 4 secondary starters out when we played. We had our injuries as well, but I don't think we will be seeing them even in the NFC championship game with how unhealthy they're. So sure, they have been a great team all year, but we caught them in a very vulnerable spot and with Josh Allen going pure cyborg mode. Then the Chiefs who we have beat in the regular season how many straight times now? These are very good wins, but if you want to use those and our 12-3 record to create this massive separation between this year and years past, a lot of people just don't see it. If anything, this year is the worst iteration of the McD defenses. Our offense is the best, it is the most diverse, but the defense is unquestionably the worst by anyway you can measure them. Which is just an unacceptable downward decline. Sure Josh could go off, he could also have the ball for 15 minutes as McD gets Parcelled out of the stadium because his defense can't get a team off the field. But how Bills fans feel at this point really isn't that crazy. It's just looking behind the curtain of our record and our biggest wins and actually trying to evaluate if this team is better than it has been prior.
  14. What they went thru prior to winning was likely the most challenged path in NFL history for a team that actually won it all. Most who go thru that level of “almost” never end up winning it with those teams….Broncos, Vikings, Bills, etc.
  15. That would be really interesting. I think the bye provides more relevance to the regular season. Even more so with just one, but historically it’s not uncommon for two teams to get 13 wins and at that point it’s usually random crap deciding the bounces on who finishes ahead of who. I would either like 2 byes or none. But I can see why it wouldn’t be hard to argue for the single bye as it really is the best of the best getting the advantage. Just sucks when it’s the same team. Hard to overcome it.
  16. I could see McD bringing in a tenured assistant who has opposing views and can really challenge him
  17. Walt Corey wasn’t enough to tell you bend but don’t break isn’t the fit for an elite offense? How much of our history needs to replay itself? This is insanity. Go Mud Hens
  18. The Colts are the only team in NFL history to gain 450 yards in the playoffs with no turnovers and still lose.
  19. So it sounds like we have no talent in defense? So Beane sucks then?
  20. I will be sure to unearth threads from years ago to call you out, or not care. One or the other.
  21. They have a new defensive coordinator this year and have taken some time to get it together. But they I’ve had a good defense the last few years. Since week 9 they rank 8th in EPA pass and 3rd in EPA passing success rate. 1st in total success rate. They will have it in order by playoffs. Im the same clip Buffalo ranks, 31st in EPA per pass, 32nd in EPA passing success, and 29th in overall success rate. They have a league worst stat profile since week 9. Maybe they figure it out at time they have never done so before. The crow would be an absolute pleasure to eat if that’s the case.
  22. Interestingly every team you mention has gone deeper in the playoffs than we have the last two years.
  23. Just keep telling me how random our playoff collapses are and how this is the year. It gets me hot.
