  1. Zolman, Jonathan Smith, Haddad, Peters, Esposito, Sobieski, Sape, Towns
  2. NY Yankee fans are the Dallas Cowboy fans of baseball. If you are a Bills fan offended by this remark, then too bad. Go choose a baseball team closer to the actual city of Buffalo (in terms of both geography and culture)...like say, the Indians?
  3. All I can say is that we better start out 2-0 and finish 4-0 because the middle 10 games look absolutely brutal. 6 of those middle 10 are division rival games, plus we have the playoff-bound Ravens, Rams, and Seahawks with only the Cardinals as a break in-between.
  4. Only 2 years to memorize the playbook!? What happens if Mularkey decides to add a few new plays? That's at least several extra months of mental training right there. Don't forget on top of all this he also needs to learn the names of the coaches, the address to the Bills organization, the sequential letters on the back of his jersey, etc... Give the guy at least 5 years...ok set the max limit to 10 years. No more.
  5. Burns is "supposedly" a very good special teamer along with being a serviceable backup at both HB and FB.
  6. 90, 37, whatever. Either way, he's certainly old. I hate saying this, but Trey Teague has had an impressive preseason. Let's stick with as much continuity as possible on the OL and not turn into the Redskins by signing every big name/no substance free agent.
  7. TD deserves 2 more full years with Mularkey as new HC. By January 2006, we better be in the playoffs.
  8. But his season isn't over. He can reach an injury settlement with the Bills and resign as soon as he's healthy. Anyway who cares what Travis Friggin Brown thinks? He should be thankful the Bills even gave him a second/third/fourth chance on his sorry career.
  9. Yup. That's exactly it. Peters was too physically slow to play TE and too mentally slow to learn the OL.
  10. Just under 40% of TD's day 2 picks are still with the team, though that number could jump up past 50% if Sobieski, Sape, and Fumbling Freddie all make tomorrow's practice squad (assuming Sobieski and Sape are eligible). Of course, the percentage of day 2 picks still with the team isn't the best measuring statistic. For example, certain day 2 players like Marques Sullivan and Dominique Stevenson should be considered successes because they both contributed to the Bills for 2-3 seasons, and this is all one should reasonably expect from a day 2 drafted player. So how about the percentage of day 2 players who made the Bills roster at some point in their football career? Answer: over 85%, if you include the practice squad as part of the roster and assume Fumbling Freddie makes this year's practice squad. Take this all for what it's worth, but without looking at other NFL teams' draft stats, I think they show TD is doing a slightly above average to very good job during Day 2 of the draft. By the way, I don't believe this is a significant issue to grade an NFL GM. There are more important issues, like day 1 of the draft, overall free agents, undrafted street free agents, hiring decisions with the coaching staff, etc... So if the trolls want to attack TD, this is not the subject with which to do so.
  11. That is exactly what I was thinking. I think we are now something like $2.5 million under the cap with the Gildon cut. Ritzmann is practice squad material and nothing more. If Schobel goes down to injury, kiss our pass rush goodbye.
  12. I'm not quite sure that's how the practice squad works. Eligiblity is based on the active roster participation, not the full roster. I hope some roster guru out there will shed some light on this subject, in case I am just typing out of my stojan-hole right now.
  13. So far Terrence McGee is the only significant day 2 pick of TD's regime. Maybe Kevin Thomas too. Oh, and Pukecillo if you think he's actually significant.
  14. Yeah Sape is still eligible. I'm not sure if the rule is that you couldn't have been on an active NFL roster for more than 4 games or for more than 9...either way Sape is still eligible.
  15. 23 of TD's 36 draft picks are still with the team. 3 of the players cut today (Fumbling Freddy plus I think Sape and Sobieski) are eligible for the practice squad.
  16. My 15 are somewhat similar to yours: 1. Zolman 2. Lawton (PS) 3. Shaud Williams (PS) instead of Simonton 4. Sape (PS) 5. Baker (PS) instead of Prioleau 6. Dixon 7. Dorenbos 8. Esposito 9. Travis Brown instead of Burns 10. Haddad 11. Ritzmann (PS) 12. Trafford 13/14. McFarland (PS) and Greer (PS) instead of Pukecillo and Sullivan 15. Fumbling Freddie (PS) My final roster has 1 K, 1 P, 3 QB, 3 RB, 2 FB, 5 WR, 3 TE, 10 OL, 10 DL, 7 LB, and 8 DB. I generally went with experience over rookie preseason standouts (keeping guys like Gildon and Prioleau over guys like Baker and Ritzmann). I don't think the Bills will waste a roster spot with 4 QB's. I also went a little heavy with linemen and a little light with the DB's; the reasoning is that Prioleau can play 5th CB, both Wire and Prioleau can back-up either safety positions, plus Baker and Greer can be slipped onto the practice squad while other players at the line positions probably can't (Sobieski, Pukecillo, Bannan, etc...)
  17. I've been as critical of Lindell as anyone else here, but I'll admit that he's done a pretty good job here thus far in the preseason. Let's stick with some continuity at special teams and go to battle with one of our favorite TBD whipping boys.
  18. And the February 2005 Pro Bowl nominees for the Bills include Shaud Williams, Rashad Baker, and Constantin Ritzmann.
  19. It was Walt Corey's fault. Not mine and not Marv's.
  20. During the REGULAR season, feel free to compare Colbert's and Evans' stats. But until then, shut your piehole and enjoy your 2004 Buffalo Bills.
  21. You only fuel the idiocy by replying. When people post topics like this, it's best to just sit back and ignore them.
  22. You have to have been active for less than 4 games to be eligible for the practice squad. So I guess that makes Sape eligible.
  23. 2001 draft: success 2002 draft: make or break year for Williams, Reed, Denney, and Wire 2003 draft: too early to judge them yet 2004 draft: definitely too early to judge them yet
  24. or was he activated for more than 3 games last year?
