That’s good to hear. I love a lineman that plays with the bully mentality he’s exhibited his entire career. I think most fans do.

Elite to me means: in the conversation as best at their position (for the time period they play in), potential hall of farmer, all-pro considerations. Josh meets that criteria obviously, not sure any other player on the roster does. Dawkins best attribute is availability. he’s a good/very good player that is always on the field. Need players like him on the roster and glad to have him but don’t think he’s elite. Cook was impressive this season, but I’m not ready to call him elite. He will need to string a few seasons together to make the jump. Quietist 16 touchdown season ever. Taron Johnson is good at what he does but being the best nickel corner is like being the best slot receiver. There’s a reason you’re in that position to begin with. Benford could be elite I guess, I have no idea. The only time I hear anything about him is on here. I’m not being flippant, I have no idea. When I think of best corner, zone coverage isn’t what I’m picturing. no one else on the roster is a serious candidate.

“You can’t overpay for greatness but you get in trouble when you overpay for good” - michael lombardi on pat mcafee show he was talking about second contracts for players. When roster building it’s okay to overpay a josh Allen but not okay to overpay for someone like tee Higgins when you really want Ja’marr chase. I think Brandon beane has a history of overpaying (draft capital and salary cap dollars) for good and it’s a big part of the problem. we need to rotate a few of the good player type guys we’ve designated as core guys, simply by resigning them, off the roster and get some truly great players in here. I would trade any 6 players (not named josh Allen) on second+ contracts for 1 or 2 great players.

It’s all part of the process. Rigid adherence to the process.

I’m all for less games not more

This team has gone as far as it can with McDermott. The salary cap and current contracts are going to restrict our ability to get talent. they can play musical chairs all they want but the bed is already made, It didn’t work. i.e. McDermott has already had the most talent on a roster he’s ever going to have and didn’t get it done. this isn’t to say McDermott is a bad coach, just that SOMETHING has to change because we are just spinning our wheels at this point.

Got a cool streak of opponents scoring touchdowns on their opening drive in the playoffs going too.

I’m all for using every draft pick, either trading or drafting, on defense. The defense stunk this year (in the context of playoff quality defenses).

If we had any other afc playoff team defense (and defensive coordinator) we win that game.

The eagles and the chiefs both punted twice today.

Josh played the exact type of season McDermott wanted and the end result was exactly the same.

I can’t begin to explain the amount of resources that have been used on defensive linemen since McDermott has been here.

The only issue I have with McDermott is his defense DOES NOT WORK (especially in the playoffs). It does not dictate anything; it holds on for dear life. It is completely dependent on turnovers. The Houston defense did better vs the chiefs.

I’m all for leaning into the ball control/power running style offense. It worked all season. Zero issues with the offense. I’d like to see the offseason spent on revamping the entire defense (coach/philosophy, personnel). Every resource should be allocated to this endeavor.
