Bingo. In fact Wright has two very different descriptions of the Bills and Allen depending on what he's speaking about. When it's the Chiefs versus the Bills head to head, the Chiefs rule and Allen sucks. But whenever I've heard him talk about the AFC or the state of the QB's in the AFC, he always says the Bills are top 3 team and Allen is top 3 QB in the conference.

Busting fake narratives with data! How novel.

What was up with Beasley today?
CincyBillsFan replied to JerseyBills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
At the risk of incurring the wrath of those Bills fans claiming Beasley is being thin skinned here isn't a 32 page thread about how Bease disrespected Bills fans with his ill considered remarks being a bit thin skinned on some fans part? -

So what? Seriously, so what? If he has a big game against either KC or TN then he'll get a standing ovation by the fans. -
Bingo! The Chiefs had just cut the lead to 9 - 7 and we were driving up around midfield when Motor dropped what would have been at a minimum a 20 - 25 yard gain (he may even have taken it to the house it was a perfectly set up play). That was a huge play. And the Bills coaches were so pissed at him that h was benched and we didn't see him again until late in the 2nd half.

I think Herbert has received more praise on a Bills message board then Allen gets on other teams message boards. The push back comes when people talk about Herbert being better then Allen. And then when posters on 2BD push back folks yell "homers". It's kind of funny. Right now Kyler Murry is probably playing best at QB and is in the early lead for MVP. But last year at this time Allen & Wilson were at the top of the heap competing for MVP. Allen went into a 4 game slump (likely injury related) and then rebounded strongly to have a great season and finished 2nd in the MVP voting. Wilson faded away. Bottom line is there's a long season ahead of us and a lot can happen. -

Is it me or are both QB's trying to make a living on 3rd down throwing the ball to receivers way behind the first down marker? -

Okay so again I see a great QB overthrow a wide open receiver on a deep ball. Why is it when Allen does it some folks melt down and call it a big problem? Those are low percentage plays under the best of circumstances. Very few QB's, even among the best of them.can have Russel Wilson's deep ball placement. -

That sack of Carr made me think of Allen's amazing escape from two Texans and long pass completion to Diggs. We take Allen's ecapability for granted. I'm a Joe Burrow fan and think he was the best prospect from that draft. Only time will tell. But for sure the AFC is loaded with great young QB's. -

If he's hearing boos then shame on those doing the booing. -
For me this is a classic over hyped first half of the season game and people will overreact (including me) to the outcome. If we win it must mean Super Bowl baby and if we lose it's the end of our run and we'll never get past the Chiefs.

YES! Officials on that last drive were terrible.

They probably figure NE is more apt to kick two FG's then score one TD.

10/3/21 Gameday Bills vs. Texans Postgame Thread

I thought Buffalo's offense played great. They scored 40 points, had 450 yards, 26 first downs and had over 38 minutes TOP. -
Rain is having an impact in this game. Makes the way the Bills handled it this afternoon all the more impressive.

Bills 40, Texans 0 Game Balls!!

Edmunds, Oliver and Knox had great games. Allen had a sneaky good game to. He had some amazing throws and runs. A little lost in the Bills spectacular defensive performance - 0 points and only 109 yards - was that the offense scored 40 and gained 450 yards on a rainy day. -

I would add Baker Mayfield to that last group. Burrow is a reincarnation of Bengal's great Ken Anderson. The AFC is freaking loaded at QB. -

The AFC is LOADED at QB. Both guys are playing well and showing all the potential in the world. -

Josh's current statistical pace.

And I believe the Bills are undefeated when Allen tops 300 yards which is an amazing and unusual stat. A lot of losing QB's get 300 yards. That we've won every game he does this is interesting. -
9/26/21 Bills vs. WTF Postgame Thread

What are you debating? * That Allen is or isn't a franchise QB? IMO there is no debate here - he is the Bills franchise QB. * That Allen is a top 10 QB? Again IMO there is no debate here. He is a top 10 QB. Now I also think he's a top 5 QB but that is a reasonable place for debate. And for the record Allen didn't play poorly in the first two games. He was average. And if he's only average through an entire season then yes we have cause for concern. But after two games there was no reason for anyone to get down on Allen and the offense. -

I have never seen a QB play that well and put up those kind of numbers on a wind game at Rich Stadium. Can anyone remember a game with this kind of wind and a QB throwing for those kind of stats? -
Was this really true though? Sure most of the time Kelly was in control but even during the Super Bowl run he had clusters of really bad games during the regular season. In fact my recollection of the Kelly years was that he could be frustrating in having two great games followed by an epic clunker. I suspect that if we're lucky Allen may have a similar career trajectory. EVERY season during the SB run, there were games the Bills won in spite of Kelly. And to be clear Kelly is the greatest QB to play for Buffalo and he's a legit Hall of Famer. My goal here though is to put things into perspective. I've been going back through Sal Maiorana's Bills book "Relentless". It has a box score for every game played by Buffalo from 1960 - 1994. I've already posted a couple of examples of very slow starts by Kelly similar to what we're seeing with Allen now. And here's a couple of more games where Kelly really struggled at the height of the Bills Super Bowl run: 1991 - Game 9 vs NE; Kelly was 14/28 for 237 yards and 2 INT & 1 TD Bills won 22 -17 - Game 12 vs NE; Kelly was 26/44 for 204 yards and 4 INT & 1 TD Bills lost 16 - 13. NE was 6 - 10 that year. 1992 - Game 5 vs Miami; Kelly was 25/48 for 306 yards and 4 INT (one pick 6) & 1 TD Bills lost 37 - 10. - Game 8 vs NE; Kelly was 22/33 for 205 and 2 INT & 2 TD. Bills won 16 - 7. NE was 2 - 14 that year. - Game 12 vs Colts; Kelly was 11/33 for 184 yards and 2 INT & 1 TD. Bills lost 16 - 13. Colts were 9 - 7 that year. - Game 13 vs Jets; Kelly was 20/35 for 215 yards and 2 INT (including a pick 6) & 1 TD Bills lost 24 - 17/ Jets were 4 - 12 that year There are other games like this to. Bottom line is that Allen will have bad games and some of those bad games will come against crap teams. But we won't know if we should be worried until AFTER this season. At the end of the day Kelly could put his bad games behind him and over the course of the season he would have 3 great games for every bad one.
