Reed at camp yesterday

Everthing I've read is that George Wilson has been catching everything with some circus catches sprinkled in. Any validity to this? -
BB.com said that Parrish is hurt
eventualchamps replied to bob marley's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Where are the posts that start off with "my brother in-laws sisters friend is a nurse at the hospital and was there when Parrish came in....." We need some inside scoop. -
This was only an fyi post. Let me see.....I've seen posts concerning "water in the ear", "my friend has a posionous snake bite", and "dating advice" to name a few, and I can't slap up a simple fyi about our old friend Drew. I thought it was interesting to see how Antowain Smith did in NE and I will also be interested to see how Jennings and Pat do with their new teams. ps - I am by no means disparaging those topics as I did find them extremely interesting and would encourage such topics to continue to be posted as they are very entertaining.

I was listening to Fox Sports on XM this a.m. and Chris Landry (sp?) said something to the effect that Drew had a very rough outing in their scrimmage.

I couldn't agree more. I just watched his play again and he did not miss a single pass in that first series. His only misques that I saw were: 1 underthrown pass, 1 overthrown pass and a pass that almost got picked. He did have one incompletion that would have been pass interference (the GB defender was draped all over him - although the announcer said that it was OK because he wasn't holding his jersey ). The pass where he tried to hit Josh in the endzone - guaranteed that if it was a regular season game and he saw that much green open in front of him....he would have ran it in. His play fakes were excellent as well. Sorry to the naysayers but his performance was good to very good. As a matter of fact, if we are going to look at the other QB performances in preseason so far, he's doing better than Peyton and Michael Vick. If he improves even slightly in the next few games, he will be more than ready for the season.

Of his little time on the field, he looked pretty good (albeit against backups). Haven't seen a lot of comments on the board about him, but the few that have been posted were positive. Someone has suggested we jettison Matthews and keep Tory as our 3rd QB. If he continues to play good, I think that's a great idea. He looked like a big fast dude (what's his 40 time?) Any thoughts?

This is getting beyond old

So let me get this straight.......the planes were flown into the world trade center towers because we were buying oil from them? -
How could you go to Baltimore without a trip to The Block. You and your wife will love it. Some great suggestions. I would back up those saying to go to Little Italy. To finish it off with desert you HAVE TO GO TO Vacarro's (my personal favorite is the Lost at Sea). They are awesome, take my word for it...don't miss it. They are right in Little Italy near the Inner Harbor.

OT: Moldy/mildew smell coming from car vents
eventualchamps replied to Ramius's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
In order to prevent it - before you get out of your car when youv'e had your A/C cranking, turn your heat on full blast for a little bit. This will take care of the condensation that everyone is talking about. I usu. step out of the car so I don't melt. Can't promise that it will work for you, but it works for me. -
"This administrations lack of ethics". I'll believe you if you spewed the same Cr*p about Clinton (whose lack of ethics was so horrendous that he was impeached).

Very good point. I would also add, (an I'm not sure what you do) that typically the higher up you are/more valuable, the better and more professional the headhunter will be. Salesman always get the bad rap unfortunately. In the large markets (CA, VA, DC, MA, etc...) there are a ton of them and that's how a lot and I mean a lot of people find jobs. Some are good, some are bad....just don't lump them all together. I don't think it can hurt to take a look at the opportunity. Given the situation of the company I would however make sure that the reward is well worth the risk. I would also ask them to specifically tell you what goals/objectives they want you to achieve.

Me, I'm just happy that Billy B. can't put three in the box and expect to contain our QB. JP will burn them if they try it. -
The best part of Bush's speech last night
eventualchamps replied to JarHeadJim's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
hmmmmmm....how may terrorist camps in Iraq and Afghanistan have we shut down? How many of their leaders have we killed/captured? Right on dude - down with Bush and the war on terror!!!! -
Hmmmm.....let me get this right, we can burn the American Flag but we can't flush the Koran down the toilet.

Need your opinion...pls no flaming!!!

Not sure about the Autobahn but I know in France, you can pass them all day long. You see, they are born with a natural inclination to surrender. Not only that, but to surrender early and often. Sometimes they will just pull over to the side of the road. Need yet another example......see Lance Armstrong. What can I say, Americans are born with the desire to win. -
D.C. radio slams Ralph Wilson
eventualchamps replied to ROSCOE P. COE TRAIN's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
16. Green Bay Packers $609 17. Pittsburgh Steelers $608 18. St. Louis Rams $602 19. Kansas City Chiefs $601 20. New Orleans Saints $585 21. Oakland Raiders $576 22. New York Giants $573 23. Jacksonville Jaguars $569 24. San Francisco 49ers $568 25. New York Jets $567 26. Buffalo Bills $564 27. Cincinnati Bengals $562 28. San Diego Chargers $561 29. Indianapolis Colts $547 30. Minnesota Vikings $542 31. Atlanta Falcons $534 32. Arizona Cardinals $505 These are the listed Franchise values for NFL teams (in the bottom half of the league). I couldn't find the actual revenue numbers but I have to imagine that they equate pretty darn close. I say Ralphie should tell the Skins, the Boys and the others to stick it and we'll form our own league with the "small market" teams. Seems to me like we could put a pretty good product on the field: Michael Vick, Peyton Manning, Favre, Rothlesberger, Eli Manning (assuming he gets better)......and heck, that's only the QB's. Those other teams need us to make them whole and boost their revenues. Without us they would be MUCH LESS valuable (and vice versa). Go get 'em Ralph! -
Al Jazeera is a disgrace
eventualchamps replied to Coach Tuesday's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
And youre third point is just plain out insane. The Coalition forces are not "enemy combatants" by any definition. And the insurgency was born, is run and is fed by non-Iraqi fighters, some of whom have been life-long sworn enemies of Iraq. As mentioned above, the Iraqi portion of it has gone home and has joined the rebuilding effort. So how you can give credence to the insurgency, even in part, as an honest to goodness attempt by some to fight for a better Iraq is nuts. 333035[/snapback] EXACTLY...can you say Jihad. Not all of them but a whole bunch of them. -
Al Jazeera is a disgrace
eventualchamps replied to Coach Tuesday's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Just as a side note - there are a hell of a lot of foreigners (from Iran, Syria, etc...) that have come to Iraq to fight the Americans. Media really doesn't highlight this or separate these groups out. As an example, take a look at Operation Viking Hammer which is documented. The ODA's found that a boatload of the KIA's were from other countires. Hell, a lot of them had their passports and plane tickets with them. By the way....WMD's were not the only reason we went over there. Think more broadly - I know you can do it. If you need something to make you feel better, we have taken out a very large number of terrorist training camps as well as having disrupted their activities. In my book, that's not a bad thing. -
Who's to say Roscoe can't unseat Evans as the #2?

What will be the highest-impact signing for 05?
eventualchamps replied to McGill Bill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
My one cent: I agree that being a #3 WR means your most likely not going to get a lot of balls thrown your way. However, they way the question is phrased is "who do you think will have the most impact" makes me look at it from a different perspective. I think Parrish (who will start over Reed) is going to have a very big impact and open the field even more for Moulds and Evans. He may not have a huge year himself, but take a look at our total receiving yards and I think they will be increased (even with "rookie" JP at the helm). -
My guess is that they didn't throw to them because we have subpar tight ends. Euhus can't catch the ball and Campbell is slow. Personally, I think Everett is going to be a stud TE by the latter end of the season.
-
Our offense is built on speed now. Lossman, Evans, Parrish, Everette and McGahee (assuming he's back 100%) have to be in the very upper tier's of their position in terms of speed. Should be a fun season.

What kind of money would we have to pay a 2nd round kicker?
