What a long, long, long offseason it's been. When I think of all the videos I've watched and articles I've read, trying to satiate my passion. From great stuff like the embedded vids to that weird ass one with the young woman interviewing Josh while drinking wine. And after every video and every article I'd be thinking "Jesus, the season can't get here quick enough". And now I sip my beer and look at my clock and see that we are just... 14 MINUTES AWAY!!!!!!!!!

So many questions, I'll go back in the postgame and look at them. Here are the ones that I'm most keen to see answered: - How much has Allen improved? - How will Oliver do in his first game? - Can Beasley/Allen continue their chemistry from preseason? - Can Foster show that he's a gamer who just plays crap when it doesn't matter? - Can Brown dominate the way he did in camp? - Is Edmunds ready to take a huge leap? - Will one of the rookie TEs prove to be a diamond in the rough? - Will the addition of Oliver help Murphy, Lawson and Hughes get more pressure? - Is Levi ready to be a starter opposite White? - Will Singletary get off to a flying start? - How meshed will the O-line look? - How much better can Allen look with extra time behind a competent line? - How many more questions can I type in an effort to make a few more minutes pass?

30 MINUTES AND COUNTING!!!

I don't watch any of the pregame stuff. My TV goes on about a minute before the game starts.

Does AB set a dangerous precedent?

I'm surprised Bill even knew he'd been released. From what I've heard he really doesn't follow those guys -
We're just so damn NICE aren't we? If it were any other team I'd be mopping the vomit off my shoes, but with the Bills it makes me feel kind of proud. It's like when your own kids do something 'cute' and your heart swells, but when someone else's is doing it a part of you wants to get them in a figure of 4 leg lock

Can't you find a stream and just hook your computer to your TV? Won't be HD but at least it's on the big screen

Antonio Brown RELEASED, signed by PATS
RobbRiddick replied to Chandler#81's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Hmmm, guess I better get back over to the Raiders forum -
Oh, I guess he won't be getting a ring afterall. Still, he can always say he played (practiced) with the mighty Pats

I agree in that it wouldn't offend me in the slightest but I think the point here is that it is MEANT to cause a lot of offense. And the problem for the Raiders is that if they let him get away with it you know there will be people screaming double standards. Just imagine if a Ravens player had called Newsome any derogatory name for blacks. Even if Brown were to say "I don't think all white people are crackers" all you have to do is spin it around to the hypothetical Ravens player saying "I don't think all blacks are..." to see that that argument wouldn't stop said player getting crucified. It's a tough one because as I say, it doesn't offend me at all (and how many black people would say n*****r doesn't offend them?) and white people in America haven't had the same history as black people, but I do dislike hypocrisy and if something like that gets swept away then it sort of shines a light on that. It also makes rednecks think "well there you go, I can say what want because blah blah blah" and they'll constantly use this as an argument whenever they want to point out a double standard. I hate knee jerk reactions to things, but if you're preaching ALL racism is wrong then you have to punish him exactly as you would a white guy who called his black GM the N word Though I can't think of any examples where that might have happened. The only thing I can think of is the Eagles receiver who got caught on tape being racially abusive, and as far as I can recall he didn't lose his job so maybe an apology will do (I'd be more than okay with that personally, so long as he agreed to stop acting like a dick)

OAK planning to suspend AB (edit: apologized, playing)
RobbRiddick replied to Reed83HOF's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm unsure of how this works. Can they just suspend him for 1 game or does it have to be at least 3 or 4 or whatever? I'm assuming they can just choose the amount they like. If so I think it'll be 1 game to show they're not a total circus, then throw him in week 2 after a ***** performance by their offense week 1. -

I have a different theory. It's the social media illness. It's made attention whores out of all sorts of people. Regular people with regular jobs who can't stop posting vague updates about being 'fed up' with no other explanation, just waiting for all those 'what's wrong?' messages to come flooding in. Brown is very heavy on social media and I think he's just become addicted to seeing all the views and comments his antics generate. If he wasn't famous he'd be busy on Facebook (or one of these message boards) trolling people and then sitting back and getting a hardon at the flood of replies -

I thought Hard Knocks would be great this year. I really enjoyed the Browns last year. Gruden, Brown, Incognito etc. Great TV if nothing else, I thought. Jesus what a snooze fest it was. I turned episodes 3, 4 and 5 off early because nothing seemed to be happening, just Gruden talking like someone with alzheimers and then yelling for them to knock on wood. When he was asking them which colleges the various players they were watching in episode 5 had played the camera showed his players looking either bored to tears or falling asleep. -

It reminds me of that line from White Men Can't Jump when Billy tells Sidney "you'd rather look good and lose than look bad and win"
