  1. I'm just glad they didn't kill someone. People keep saying "drag racing, no big deal", but once you're out of control and flying through a parking lot, the chance of hitting someone goes up dramatically, especially the people in an all you can eat buffet parking lot, they tend to move a lot slower.
  2. Well, there it is, Jerry Hughes was the other driver as reported by TBN.
  3. HOLY CRAP!!!! Mark, welcome to Two Bills Drive!!! Those were some of my favorite memories in the stadium. Getting to our seats at noon, watching the punters warm up, yelling at the refs and yes! knowing every song that would play on the PA and singing along as they did. I wish you could have come up, but maybe next year. I'm happy to say I may have all but one game accounted for at this time. I WILL however be in California for the home opener so those tix will have to go on the market. Geez, I don't smell....
  4. I'd rather actually go to the game who enjoys it. so thought I'd just get a feel here from other local folks who might think about it. I'm not looking for firm commitments, but rather just seeing if the idea is a good one.
  5. I've tried to find someone to join me in season tix, but to no avail. My wife said she'd go to a couple and I have commitments from friends for a couple of other games. I plan to be over in Hammer's Lot, and reaquaint myself with a number of you who I've met in the past. If there is a game or two (or three) I can't find someone to go with, are there local folks out here that would consider buying a single ticket, hanging out at Hammer's before the game and going? Kind of a pathetic request, but so many of my football friends have moved away...
  6. The Buffalo Jills have found new recruits willing to ignore problems with pay.
  7. I love the Sammy pic, I however wonder if we didn't get duped on the compensation for the pick. I saw reports yesterday that Atlanta was going to give a 3rd round pick to Jacksonville to move from 6 to 3, but Jacksonville, who was ready to make the deal, bailed in fear that someone else would reach up and grab Bortles before they got a chance. You can say Watkins was the best player in the draft, but we still took him at 4 and gave up WAY more than Atlanta was giving up to move above that. I think Whaley made a desperate move and got taken a bit. Now I just hope to hell Sammy is so good that next year we don't care.
  8. From the NFL's gambling policy: NFL personnel shall not work for, own or operate, in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, individually or through any business organization, any casino (whether or not such casino operates a "sports book" or otherwise accepts wagering on sports), or other gambling-related enterprise, including, without limitation, any online, computer-based, telephone, or internet gambling service, card rooms, lotteries, slot machine operations, horse or dog-racing tracks, off-track betting services, as well as advisory services such as publications, "tout services," and the like, whether or not such services address professional football or any other team sport. The NFL defines personnel as, "All players, coaches and other full- and part-time club and league personnel, including but not limited to team owners, trainers, officials, security personnel, consultants, and other staff." via http://bills.buffalonews.com/2014/04/01/dont-get-overly-excited-donald-trumps-possible-interest-buffalo-bills/
  9. NFL owners are not allowed to have Casino interests. Trump owns Casinos. He is not going to sell them so that he can buy the Bills. No story... Move on.
  10. Gaa! I would LOVE to engage this conversation further but have to go do WORK!!! I understand your point and it is not wrong. I'm just really proud of our great district. Have a great day!
  11. The broader problems of WNY go without saying, but how unreasonable is it for a 25 year professional to be making $92k? over a 25 year teaching career, for someone who starts at out at 45K, that's a little less than a 3% raise per year. Hardly unreasonable. I'm more outraged about some county office worker making that same amount with tons of ridiculous overtime and getting to retire on a state paid pension after 20 years.
  12. As a parent of a student in a Williamsville district high school and former student at Casey Middle where Mrs. Sleap taught, I say; You get what you pay for. The quality of education in WCSD is top notch (Consistently top 2 or 3 district in WNY) and paying high brings in quality instruction. My son received over 50% scholarship offers at St. Joe's (where I went) and Canisius and we (really he) chose Williamsville East. He is in an engineering program (Project Lead the Way) is in honors/AP classes in all his core subjects and still have over a 95% average. The teachers are engaged and involved and have him loving school. Even their guidance office is impressive as hell. So, if someone thinks any $92K is too much for a teacher in a district pumping out high quality students left and right, then you have your priorities mixed up. I want to add something to this... WCSD has one of the most impressive arts and music programs ANYWHERE. I can't give you numbers, but I have seen numerous examples of students being accepted at very prestigious arts and music colleges throughout the country. The quality of teachers is not just in math and the sciences, its across the board.
  13. I just want to assure everyone that I'm still here! I miss the constant posting days of the man who gave us our **** filter. Stojan Wow! The S H I T filter has been changed.... I'm old
  14. Just the opposite, the more associates and people they want to interview that die, the less people there are to testify against him. Isn't that what mobsters do? Kill off all the witnesses. Case goes "poof"
  15. I think we will see more of this... I believe the Bills will go into "lets see what we've got" mode now with the Playoffs out of reach. And more power to them for doing so.
  16. I love how my house looks in the snow with all the Christmas lights up. I hate putting up Christmas lights.
  17. Is there any chance of having this emoticon... enhanced to have a Santa hat on for the Christmas season.... by the way, That's right, I said CHRISTMAS not Holiday
  18. My wife and I watch White Christmas every year while wrapping gifts. It is a GREAT movie in the classic style. Great singing and dancing, funny, great story and you'll even shed a tear at the end.
  19. Those first three are my "go to" Christmas movies. I believe Elf, in all honesty, is a modern classic. Cute, great music, fun story. Alot of people don't like Will Farrell so, immediately dismiss Elf, but it deserves a watching. I actually think that Santa Claus 2 (the Mrs. Claus) is as good as the first. The third is crap.
  20. Jay, If you are looking for something to go with dinner, I would recommend a Sauvignon Blanc, especially if you are considering a Reisling. If you want to get a red, something lighter than a Merlot, like a Pinot Noir would be good as well.
  21. I think its important to take into account that Marrone was about 10 minutes late calling into his segment. The entire interview was awkward. I was stunned they didn't ask about the fourth down punt from the 37. Howard seemed totally thrown and at the end of the interview, even before Marrone had finished saying goodbye, said "We have Steve Ott on the line, anything exciting happen this week Steve?..." and started his conversation with Steve. It seems Howard was pissed Marrone wasn't on time and lost his composure during the interview. As a 20+ year radio guy, I would have thought he could have handled the curveball of Marrone being late a bit better.
  22. Wow, you have some bad internet. It was reported everywhere online.
  23. I would not expect that the ducts being dirty would cause reduced airflow to that degree. Ducts don't get clogged like arteries, the dirt is really just on the surface.
