Dumbest Power Ranking Write-Up of all Time
Ol Dirty B replied to OCinBuffalo's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
But you're not destroying that stupidity, you're exposing the rest of us who would have never cared to this "cancer". It's a write up in May about football. Get a grip and don't compare it to cancer. Talk about stupidity. Haven't read his write up, but I have no doubt you are giving him a run for his money. -
I agree with this. I said it in another thread, "football guys" or whatever you want to call them are nothing more than glorified gym teachers in my opinion for the most part. Look at gettleman, listen to polian talk now and I think he could still get a job. Then you have fishers, dorseys, idziks, tannenbaums, and hurneys littered thought out the league. Top it off with some Fox's, and Grudens. I'm sure some franchise could be fooled into taking on Dungy or Cowher now. It's a joke at times. Guys like Sashi Brown or Sam Hinkie never get a chance to complete their vision. They'd rather recycle the safe "football guy". I feel like I sound like Schopp and it's gross.

I really think this thread is veering off course. She's not president of football's ops specifically, she's just been given a title. As far as the NFL goes, pardon my ignorance, but it seems like a joke job. That league prints money like the treasury. Hockey, I'm far more ignorant on and it seems to be a niche sport where management and marketing skills could have a direct impact on the bottom line. But like I said, all we know is that it is a title. She won't be fired, but I don't think she'll fail either. If the Pegulas feel she's not handling part of her responsibilities well or needs help, then they'll just hire someone to do that and adjust what her role is as president. As a competent owner would. This doesn't change anything in my opinion regarding football or hockey operations, and the level of their involvement in them. Be it too much or too little. She didn't need the president title to do that, she's the effing owner. Her and Terry will do that if they please regardless.

The busier they are kept in business ops, less time for football decisions. Just wishful thinking. I understand an owners temptation to meddle, I'd probably be lying if I said I wouldn't if I was in there shoes. Yet they've just appeared bad when they meddle or even have to make decisions only an owner can make. I follow the Sabres by proxy, just because you'll get bombarded with them on WGR and by friends. Yet I never get the impression they meddle over there as much. Can any Sabres fans tell me is that's an accurate assessment or is it just Hockey doesn't undergo the scrutiny that NFL teams do, even in a good hockey market? I just don't hear about them being as involved day to day as much in hockey decisions.

I can't help but see the hypocrisy in a fanbase labelling Brandon a sexual predator or deviant when we don't have any facts, but they adore a QB who was at least a known adulterer. I never, maybe rarely see any kind of talk condemning Kelly, but here you can find 30+ pages of people hurling crazy unfounded accusations at Brandon. I get it, people don't like him, but let's be fair to all involved.

Dumbest Power Ranking Write-Up of all Time

So it wasn't the existence of a power ranking in May that was stupid, but opinions expressed in it, and you felt the need to write a thesis on it? Thanks for sharing. -
I don't even know what to do with this post but accept that I'm smarter than you. If I annoy you that much, put me on ignore. I've been nothing but congenial and trying to respect women that may be victims in my responses. You on the other hand come across as someone who hopes he sexually harassed women so he can be fired. You're an unintelligent, delusional being. I won't quote you again, you're not worth talking to.

I used to be an anti Brandon guy. I didn't like him as a GM, I didn't like the levy hire then. However, I will say, he is the only person employed by the Bills I have measly 2nd hand connections to. I know a lot of people who know him, and he has even been responsible for getting me tickets to games. From my understanding, he didn't necessarily want to be involved with football operations and a lot of what has gone on in the past few years has weighed on him. The drought was bothering him more than you or me. Granted he was banking some big checks during that time. I've heard nothing but good things about him, but I can't confirm that. With all that said, if whatever he did is that bad, I'm sure law suits are coming. I don't know his character personally. It's a very difficult situation. I'm not going to celebrate this and anyone who does is just unsophisticated. If the goal of accuser was merely to get him fired, and all of this happened in this short of time. Notified of investigation Friday, let go by Tuesday. He must have crossed some lines. I'm amazed that people as incompetent as Terrance and Kim could amass the riches they have. Please don't take that last sentence as a defense of Russ, rather a lack of trust in Terrance and Kim to run an organization.

Beane just said guy was falling that he wanted

Not that much more. And also the 12th pick is more valuable than the 15th. -

I'm glad the kind of WR we are looking for is one that requires Brady to throw to him to be successful. Then drafted a QB with a way different style than Brady. If this is truly what is going on, as you say it, then these guys will fail. -
Wow that must be a great land that McDermott lives in. He gets credit for Tre, but had no responsibility in passing on Watson. What a gig

Yes signing Tolbert, and bring in Ivory... great moves. Trading up for Zay Jones. Starting Peterman. Nothing but great moves. They've made someone good ones, but it's not nothing but great moves, and the turnover of this roster is no where near complete.
-
Beane wasn't here for any of that. Nor was his new scouting staff.

Was Kelly getting picked ahead of Marino a issue in 1983?
Ol Dirty B replied to ganesh's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It could just be from the 30 for 30 and other short various coverage I've seen of that draft, but it seemed like it was the Jets fans who were most pissed off about taking Ken O'Brien over Marino. -
Opinions on why we passed on Rosen?
Ol Dirty B replied to Klaista2k's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I was referring to the Bills historically. Not just this regime. If you can go long periods of time without making the playoffs in your franchise history, you made stupid decisions. But since you're trying to twist me into making a point I wasn't I'll throw a few at you. 1) Rick Dennison 2) The Peterman game in LA 3) Mike Tolbert being your number 2 4) Chris Ivory being your number 2 5) The management of the WR position since they got here. What are they doing? So yea, they've made some stupid decisions. They've also made some good ones, the Darby and Tyrod trades especially in my opinion. -

Why do you seem to be so excited by that? It's kind of a caveman mindset and pretty gross. Or he's just as free to continue on and like the Bills, but not the stupid decisions they make. Not saying this is one, but given the Bills track record and how these coaches handled the QB position, odds are on the side of those who criticize it. It's an easy take to make and a bit unfair, but it's not wrong yet. -
Well I missed it. I was wrong, so I'll give him credit for not making what would have been an even more terrible trade just from the stand point of pick values. I'm not trying to include Allen in the judgment of the trade at all. It still doesn't make it a good trade. I'd love to sell you a car. Sticker price 100k, then I'll just work down to 50k on a car that should go for 30k on the market. So here you go, I give you credit beane for not trading away a 1st to move up 5 spots. Now we should all just be happy. I mean what is your point here? It wasn't a bad trade because he rejected an obscenely retarded trade? Whatever man.
