That is one of the reasons I agree with. The other is, NE probably only wants 2 QBs on the roster. No doubt, they think Dobbs will be a good vet influence on Maye, after all they just signed a 2-year $8M contract with him. Cutting Milton hoping he makes the PS wasn't going to happen, so therefore the trade. I wouldn't doubt they draft a late rounder or UDFA for the PS.

Bills halt contract negotiations with Cook
ColoradoBills replied to Returntoglory's topic in The Stadium Wall
Agree. My point is after the posting none of us know what talks took place and what numbers were offered. Beane could have offered $13.3M and/or Cook's agent could have come down to $13.5M. WE don't know. My hope has been a "reasonable" compromise could have been achieved. I'm beginning to think that will not happen. -

As of now, nobody knows. Any "speculation" is just that. Arguing about who is right or wrong, fair or unfair is futile. I'm just going to sit back and watch. I will say there may be some RB visits for the draft coming in. That is something to watch for. -
Benford Extended 4 Years - 76 million
ColoradoBills replied to Mikie2times's topic in The Stadium Wall
It sure is. Benford is 15th on the CB list for AAV. His signing bonus of only $7.5M even opened up $600k more cap for Beane. -

Maybe get John Madden calling the game like Harry Caray did for baseball. -
Cam is the primary backup at NCB to Taron Johnson. He can/has played S too.

Right now, I think DQ is an insurance policy at DT1. We'll see after the draft what happens to him. He's 34 and may retire if the Bills tell him they have to move on. A June 1st designation nets $5.5M which would take Beane into the season without any restructures. -
Yes, typically they carry 5 WRs. The ST players add a slot and if Shenault is that guy 6 WRs is not out of the question. The WRs (and TEs for that matter) have had a pretty dismal injury record. It may be good to hedge for that. As for Shavers, he would be a camp surprise to make the 53. I see him destined for the PS again (which is a good depth plan). Lots of years the Bills carried 10 OL. They have a strong 9 so there could be another open spot for the O. QB-2 RB/FB-4 WR-6 TE-3 OL-9 24-Total Offense

1. DT/CB 2. CB/DT 3. WR 4. DL (DE or DT BPA) 5. S 6. TE 7. BPA - CB/LB/RB/STs 8. BPA - CB/LB/RB/STs 2 Picks traded. This is my priority list. Could vary in which round these priorities are taken depending on the board. Notes: 1. I added RB despite the numbers issue. They would find a way to IR (hide) someone if needed. RB taken only IF too good to pass up. 2. Take the TE IF too good to pass on. Needs to have good blocking skills. Going to need one next year and TEs take a while to acclimate.

I hope I'm still around for that!

We were lucky and were eligible for unemployment compensation after the terms were up.

I worked for a company for 30+ years and then Johnson & Johnson bought us out. I took the buyout (70-weeks' pay and benefits) and retired at 58. I had to laugh about the kids!

Deshaun Watson suffers 2nd achillies rupture

They keep pushing his cap out. If they cut him right now, it's $172.3M. -
Pre 2025 Draft - Review of 2023 and 2024
ColoradoBills replied to ColoradoBills's topic in The Stadium Wall
The 2023 Draft Class Big, big year for Dalton Kincaid. He needs to stay healthy; that's for sure. I have commented he needs some more muscle and a tougher attitude. I know he can play better. I hope he believes that too. O'Cyrus has had some ups and downs. Big year coming up for him too. A big year gets him into contract considerations in 2026. A bad year...........? Williams seems to have to stay in the wings again this year. Really tough situation for him. If needed he has to perform. -
I see comments on the 2022 draft being a good draft (exception of Elam). At the start of 2023 I remember a lot of concern over Cook, Bernard and Shakir. I'd like to hear what the board thinks of 2023 and 2024. I will comment later so other can use this post for comments. 2023 1 Dalton Kincaid 2 O'Cyrus Torrence 3 Dorian Williams 5 Justin Shorter - On LV Roster 7 Nick Broeker - On HOU Roster 7 Alex Austin - On NE Roster 2024 (All players are currently on the 2025 Buffalo Bills Roster) 2 Keon Coleman 2 Cole Bishop 3 DeWayne Carter 4 Ray Davis 5 Sedrick Van Pran-Granger 5 Edefuan Ulofoshio 5 Javon Solomon 6 Tylan Grable 6 Daequan Hardy 7 Travis Clayton

Australian and 4-year starter James Burnip, Alabama. If he is still there in the 6th they should pick him.

Deshaun Watson suffers 2nd achillies rupture
ColoradoBills replied to GunnerBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
Not only have they blown the whole Watson thing, but they also continue to sign big contracts (with aging players) that pushes all kinds of dead cap out. It's insane. If anyone want to see what I mean, look at the orange and red players whose contracts are up next year but have these huge dead cap hits. Also, look at some of the ages of these players! https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/cleveland-browns/cap/_/year/2026/sort/cap_total_top51/dir/desc -

I like this site for us "average" fans to get an understanding. Here is one on Defensive alignments and positional responsibilities with the pros and cons. -
It just seems to me that this year was the time to redo his contract. Similar to Milano doing it. Knox has $21.5M in new money and $34M in cap hit the next 2 years. There is still time this year to do it but if doesn't happen I'm not sure he stays next year. Just my opinion. I can see a 5th going to a TE if one they like is there.

Being a top 3 team in scoring. Does it matter how we do it?
ColoradoBills replied to PrimeTime101's topic in The Stadium Wall
Beane just needs to draft a young speedy guy instead of acquiring older or 2nd tier ones through FA. Brown, McKenzie, Sanders, Harty and Samuel are my examples. For some reason these guys (with exception of Brown) have not clicked with Josh. FTR I am so hoping Samuel stays healthy all year. -
I see a TE as a real need. Knox didn't do anything with his contract. This is most likely his last season. No way they take a $17.1M cap hit AND another $2.3M in 2027 by keeping him. He frees up $10M in cap being cut next spring.

I'm pretty sure the Cooper/Douglas comment is only an option AFTER the draft. I'm not worrying about what he said about WR and to a lesser extent S. I don't see that meaning he won't draft one of each. Beane has to draft players. DT and CB will be in the 1st/2nd rounds. The biggest "mystery" is what position will the other 2nd be. Could very well be BPA on DL/WR Then with all the other picks they can be from a lot of positions. WR/DL (whatever not taken with a 2), TE, S, RB, IOL. Maybe another DT1, if they are worried about Jones. I don't see anything changing because of his presser.
