  1. Happy New Year Bills fans! Sure would be great to bring home a Lombardi in 2023!
  2. When I see the term "professional commentator" what comes to my mind turns to the poster child of foolishness, Skip Bayless. He is the antithesis of what was once "the sportswriter". I need less talk about people's opinions and more about the game itself. I'll take a Steve Sabol over the Skips of the world, all day long. I was hesitant in writing my earlier post but I'm glad I did. It's good to know I'm not the only one feeling this way.
  3. I have to take a moment to comment about the upcoming game Monday. The reality is that 2 very good football teams are going head-to-head with the outcome extremely important not only for the 2 teams playing the game but for the KC Chiefs and the Baltimore Ravens too. I want to take this moment to comment at the way games like this are viewed compared to many years ago when I started watching football. In the past, this game would get "hyped" for the importance of the game. Fans and sportswriters would comment on its importance and talk about how great it will be to actually "watch the game and see what happens". Today, it seems to me, all that has changed. It's all about trying to prove, one way or another, ahead of time what the outcome will be through a myriad of stats and projections and I'm sorry to say "bullcrap". I for one, prefer to sit back and wait for these 2 talented teams to fight it out and enjoy the game for what it is, a great football game. Sometimes I wonder if I'm the only one who still thinks this way? I will add one more thing. It's awesome that my hometown team is involved in this game! Go Bills! Happy New Year!
  4. Tell me then, if the Bills D gets beaten so bad, right from the start, how many points does the Bengals O score? In other words, what is going to be the reality of your "boat raced" hot take in points?
  5. Carr started day one as a rookie. Since then, he has had 6 HCs and I won't count how many OCs and QBCs. He has flashed from a very good QB to average and it's hard for me to judge what he could have been with a stable franchise. In his 9 years he has had only 1 playoff games and lost. His injury to end the 2016 season and not playing in the Raiders playoff game that year was a shame. He has been durable and if I have a negative thing to say about him is that his consistency has been lacking. It's impossible for me to determine what kind of QB he could have been, but I do think he had a raw deal. It's time for him to move on and have a chance to show if he can get better (or worse) with a new team. Unfortunately, I think he is damaged from his career with the Raiders and I'm not sure he can be fully fixed. I do wish him luck against the league, minus the Bills.
  6. He's on a franchise tag. His market value is more than Knox.
  7. ...and a nice 6-3 win it was!
  8. Of course they do. That has been discussed ad nauseum this last week. My point was to bring up looking at the game from the Bengal's view.
  9. They have a lot to lose with a loss. Puts the Division into play and they could drop all the way down to the 6th seed.
  10. First off, thanks for the 538 site. I'm not going to crunch the numbers (I know you are using a guesstimate) but the overall "Getting the Bye" increasing the chances of a SB being doubled, makes perfect sense to me. It also goes to show that a "Superbowl" favorite does not have as much of a statistical advantage as most "I'm not good at math" people think. I'm going to keep an eye on this site as to their probability numbers and if I have some points to make, I will let you see them.
  11. Whatever gets you through the night.
  12. I'm a simple man and like simple things. Bills beat the Bengals and Pats* and clinch the bye. Let the rest of the Division worry about who plays who in the Wildcard Round. Bills host one of Dolphins, Chargers, Ravens if one of the wildcard teams win or else the Jaguars. Most likely that the Chiefs host the Bengals!
  13. I think they are trying to do a quick rebuild if they can. They'll look at FA QBs and/or see if they got a chance for a rookie QB. If nothing works out for them QB wise, I bet they tank in 2023. If it's the tank route, Adams will get traded. It's another high risk for that organization that has proven they mess up more than not.
  14. Crowder being available doesn't move the needle much at all for me unless there is an injury to one of McKenzie/Shakir/Beasley. I just don't see him on the 53 otherwise.
  15. I have to disagree with you on the Gruden point. Raiders were 22-31 under Gruden's second stint with them. Bisaccia was 7-5 and got them in the playoffs last year.
  16. Agree. I don't get the HC carousel. They should have let Bisaccia have a chance. The team played well for him last year.
  17. Carr also has a Full No Trade clause in his contract. It kind of forces LV to keep him or let him go.
  18. Monday night is the seeding game for the Bills. Right now, the Bills could end up 1, 2 or 3. Bills fans better get used to these types of scenarios.
  19. White is an UFA in 2023. If the Jets sign a starter, he may want to move on to some team still standing after the music stops during the QB musical chairs.
  20. Maybe they tear it all down. Hard to imagine they can compete with the Chiefs and Chargers with someone less talented than Carr.
  21. I see the Raiders screwed in trying to get one of the top 3 QBs. Texans and Seahawks will get the first 2. The Seahawks (with Denver's pick) can out trade anyone wanting to get to the Bears pick. So, the way I see it, ALL the other QB needy teams will be fighting for the 3rd ranked guy. With the Colts and Falcons ahead of Raiders, I don't see LV getting #3. If the Bears are smart (and not too greedy) they could trade down twice and still end up with the 2nd best non-QB player in the draft! Once with Seattle so the Seahawks lock QB2, and then with the Colts or Falcons (whoever is slotted after the Cardinals).
  22. Just looked up Jimmy G's Market Value in Spotrac and it's right between our numbers at $35M per year. I'll go with that. Also, what @MAJBobbycited.
  23. I don't want to see that happen but I'm thinking Jimmy G will be their answer next season. Jimmy G is not re-signing in SF and with his style of play he would fit perfectly with the Jets. I could also see Jimmy G wanting to kick the Pats* butts twice a year being a big incentive. He will bet on himself and be in the limelight in NYC and sign something like a 3 year $120M deal. Like I said, don't want to see it but it just makes too much sense.
  24. "Bell cow"? LOL. What is this the 1970s? From what I see, Cook can easily be the Bills #1RB getting 200-225 rushes per year with another 75 targets. Singletary's highest rushing year was last season with 188 rushes and this season he has 51 targets so far. The Bills need a "change of pace" RB, but it's the other way around. He needs to be a bigger bruiser type guy. The 3rd RB is a Hines type. Like others have said, once Cook puts on some adult muscle weight, he'll be fine for that role.
  25. He is going to get double that.
