  1. Who crowned them champs? They were 7-8-1 last year. Went 5-2 down the stretch. How can you get so much wrong in one sentence? They are a better team than the Bills right now. This is based on Vegas betting. Would you put money on the Bills having a better record? Also, Mock drafts this early are only to show the prospects that are on the radar at this point. No one thinks this is an attempt at an accurate projection.
  2. I meant they added better players THAN the Bills. They have at least 3-4 players on their team that are better than anyone on the Bills. Garrett, OBJ, Landry, Bitonio, Richardson, Vernon. Not to mention at the most important position in all of sports they SEEM to have the edge after 1 year.
  3. They added better players in the offseason. Why is it so hard to comprehend?
  4. Not arguing the first part. Of course it can be done. Just don’t know why anyone would prefer to not have a #1 WR. I see some people saying “#1 WR and nothing but scrubs after that” which isn’t the question Kelvin Benjamin had 1,000 yards as a rookie. Funny how the 1,000 yard pace logic is thrown out when you mention Sammy Watkins.
  5. First of all, no it isn't. The question was stated as "important or good to have" The problem is what do either of those terms mean? What does necessary mean? Necessary to win the Super bowl? You have to define all these terms AND "#1 WR" in order to even begin a discussion that makes any sense. My point is this is all just a bunch of rationalization of the fact that the WRs are average at best on paper. Fans want to believe they will be good, and sure it's possible. We don't need to say elite receivers hurt their teams to justify our middling at best talent at the position.
  6. Completely agree. Why isn’t this article/thread about elite Defensive tackles or elite cornerbacks or having a top 5 left tackle? Ill tell you why, it’s because the genesis for this thread and many others like it this offseason is someone looking at a weakness on the Bills roster and trying to justify it. Yeah, it’s ok that the Bills don’t have a #1 WR but for a young QB like Allen I would like to see more talent surrounding him on offense at every position. Hopefully they will get there eventually, the Antonio Brown attempted trade gives me hope that they’re not actually satisfied. On the other hand they didn’t draft a WR and instead went with a 3rd/4th string running back. I see teams like the Chiefs, Rams, Texans and probably others, continue to draft/sign WR to help their young QB when they already have much better talent than Buffalo currently.
  7. Why is it that we have a thread about this every couple months? Could it be that we all know the wr unit is subpar still and trying to justify it somehow? No couldn’t be that. Do other teams fans have threads like this or do they just agree that having the best receivers possible is important AND good to have? This theory of having a bunch of complimentary guys only works if the other teams secondary doesn’t also have a bunch of complimentary guys. Even the best example of a team that doesn’t need elite WRs took one in the first round this year and took a flier on Josh Gordon last year. Honestly I don’t even understand the question being posed here.
  8. I like those two signings as well, and Nsekhe once I researched him more. What I’m trying to say is if the Bills and Jets (or another team that added a lot of players) swapped free agent classes, everyone would still be very excited
  9. And im sure none the overly positive posters settle for less in their personal lives.
  10. Nope. Because it’s much worse if all you ever post is a one word response to anything negative. No one is claiming they’re brilliant as far as I can see.
  11. You again, adding nothing. Why not defend the additions? John Brown and Cole Beasley didn’t scare anyone last year. One 1,000 yards season between the two. They improve the WRs from worst in the league to hopefully not worst in the league. The O-line is hopefully much better, but that remains to be seen. One year ago how many people who are positive about the new players had even heard of Mitch Morse, Jon Feliciano, Ty Nsecke etc? I’m sure some, but it’s a clear case of rose-colored glasses and hope.
  12. Can’t evaluate a trade immediately but when you try to a couple years later you get told to move on. Turns out the Rams got one year of Sammy Watkins for a 2nd round pick. They received a comp 3rd when he left. So essentially a late 2nd for late 3rd swap to surround their young QB with more receiver talent in a critical point in his development. This is is the kind of perspective you don’t have until later on. Maybe a team with a first time head coach and young QB who turned it around and made the super bowl in two years is actually relevant to a discussion of how the Bills have been/should be built. Thanks for your contribution though
  13. The opposite is interesting as well. Star is much worse comparatively and surrounding Allen with talent should be more of a priority than a run stopper. Run stopping DT is not a hard thing to find, but he’s our highest paid player. Star is a replacement level player AT BEST. thanks for bringing this up. Interesting, we could afford both btw.
  14. I see a lot more than 5. I also only ever see you complain about the “complainers”. It brings nothing to the table.
  15. https://www.chiefs.com/video/patrick-mahomes-makes-back-foot-54-yard-pass-to-sammy-watkins https://www.chiefs.com/video/patrick-mahomes-makes-on-the-run-38-yard-pass-to-sammy-watkins these two plays alone are worth 16 mil considering the circumstances.
  16. truth is, we could afford Sammy and he would be our best receiver by far.
  17. Exactly! If we passed every play last year what would the difference be? Allen is more developed, the Bills are better in Madden, and i don’t irrationally hate Zay Jones?
  18. I know it won’t happen but I would fire him right now. Mostly for his comments about how he wants to “pass when we have to” and how it’s inevitable in our climate to run the ball. I’m just not interested in that sort of team. In fact, I think we are due for a few years of pass-only offense.
  19. Successful offenses have 3rd options that can get open. Sammy has a great AFC championship game you think if they end up winning that game and the super bowl they care how much he was paid? theyre smart because they know they can afford that contract while Mahomes is on his rookie deal. We would be lucky to have Sammy on that deal right now
  20. What? If they had simply passed on Mahomes and Watson it would be slightly better optics. Instead they traded the eventual league MVP when they needed a QB and went with Nathan Peterman in round 5 instead. You can’t write an outcome like that and be taken seriously beforehand, but it happened.
  21. If Dee Ford doesn’t go Offside and Mahomes wins the super bowl are these idiots saying “He has a Super Bowl caliber supporting cast! The Bills don’t win the super bowl. He would not be the same player if we drafted him. He would not have won the super bowl!”
