  1. More teams added to now needing QBs. Let's push those WRs down the draft!
  2. Out of that group, I would take Legette.
  3. This was expected and Chris Jones is getting the money he wanted and deserves...$32M per year. As to KC trading Sneed...I know there is interest from a number of teams, but if they are smart, they hold out. KC is asking for a 2, or so I've heard. Now with Jones' cap hit, they will be more desirous of moving Sneed to get his $19M off the books...or they could renegotiate...but it's still going to cost them likely $16M per year. So...teams should not be in a hurry to help KC out. They've won 3 SBs...they should pay a major price for that to the players largely responsible.
  4. Well perhaps it's a low 3rd (which they were expecting anyway) and the Bills have to give up one of their lower round picks in exchange.
  5. This makes sense especially if the Bills are targeting WR with their first pick. They could drop down a few slots, recoup a 3rd round pick and still have a nice selection of WR targets.
  6. Please explain.
  7. You said he's a UFA, implying this year, when someone asked if he'd been cut. He's under contract through 2025.
  8. Martin is under contract until 2026 when he becomes a free agent.
  9. I'm not making any assumptions about what the oline will look like. The press, I think is doing that based on who was active last year. My guess is that they will likely add olinemen in the draft and have a full scale competition in camp for the starting center.
  10. His first go around had us taking Brian Thomas at WR. He must think that after the combine, players have gone up the board and others have dropped. He must be thinking the value is there for Latu. Zierlein is now dead to me.
  11. The teams that really need CB help are in positions to draft them in the first round of this year's draft, as a lot of teams will be going after QB, WR, OL and some DL. Why get a guy at top dollar...and lose a number 2 draft pick in the process when you can sign a solid CB and have him for 5 years before you have to pay him?
  12. Throat cancer is what got my Dad. Rich Eisen announced Mortensen's passing as they were concluding their combine coverage. Daniel Jeremiah broke into tears talking about what he meant to him. He said they were texting each other throughout the day yesterday about draft prospects. He was a real pro until the end. RIP and thank you, Mr. Mortensen.
  13. They jumped a number of teams not just the Bills...including Denver which did draft a wide receiver in that round.
  14. Rice was taken in the second round and there was no guarantee the Bills would have drafted a WR in the second round after grabbing Kincaid in the 1st.
  15. No. It means that KC moved on from players that weren't worth hanging onto at high salaries and that were easily replaceable despite playing in a SB. The argument has been that KC is somehow brilliant in their team management when in truth their core group that has kept them on top has been small: Mahomes, Kelce, Jones, and I would for now add Butker. Those players are the big difference makers. Tyreek was...but he was demanding too much to keep, especially knowing they would need to pay those dollars to Jones. So with the draft picks they got for Tyreek, they rebuilt their defense supplementing with players on one year deals. By comparison, the Bills initially built through free agency...Hyde, Poyer, Philips, Settle, Morse, etc. Some of those players have made a difference but now have gotten older and injured such that they no longer make a difference. They did draft well in Allen, Tre, Milano, Dion, etc and added Diggs through free agency to help develop Josh. Beane has switched to one year deals in free agency and now with ten draft picks, has to hit on the majority to lower the cap for the foreseeable future. Beane has not been perfect. However he and McD have resurrected a team from the ashes and made them competitive in relatively short order. KC had a good team in place before Mahomes got there. They had a headstart on the Bills. The Von Miller contract has set us back, but the silver lining is that it will force the Bills to rely on their draft class sooner rather than later.
  16. Not all of the players you cited were draft picks of KC and all were easily replaced. I do agree that it has been free agency signings that have hurt the Bills the most cap-wise.
  17. I don't think Beane has made a habit of over-paying players...with the exception of Knox, which I still don't understand. The contracts for the most part are fair market value. If the idea is to draft and develop your own players, then second contracts are to be expected. Oliver's deal was a bargain as was Tre's ultimately. We let Edmunds walk. The free agent contracts...namely Von's was a stab at signing a difference maker that could get the Bills over the hump. It looked like it would until the Detroit game. So you definitely could question the free agent contracts and extending aging players. That is not a sustainable strategy.
  18. As I recall, shortly thereafter Jalen Ramsey got his extension etc. Tre's contract was actually quite the bargain. Additionally...I don't think trading Tre would have resulted in the huge draft haul KC got from Miami.
  19. I don't recall Tre White making public demands to be the highest paid corner in the league.
  20. Veach got a big benefit from the draft haul the Chiefs got for trading Tyreek Hill...who is an uncommon talent with his speed (albeit also a bit obnoxious). Hill initiated the whole thing with his ego and public comments. And of course the Dolphins saw the shiny object and gave up that draft haul. It would be interesting to see if the Bills had a "shiny object" not named Josh Allen, that was making public demands, what Beane would do.
  21. Hopefully Miami learned it's lesson by getting smoked twice by the Chiefs this year. Don't make deals that will come back and bite you in the arse.
  22. Detroit has drafted well. They'd be better served taking one of the top corners in the draft. They should be in a position to get one.
  23. The NFL Network especially! The Chiefs are great. We all get it. However...outside of KC fans...we're all tired of being reminded. As soon as I see them heading toward the KC love fest, I change the channel.
  24. I hope someone ponies up for Sneed as well. I just don't want KC to receive draft capital for him and that's my point. Go ahead and offer Sneed the big bucks as a free agent, but if he's tagged, keep your 1st round pick and draft a CB in the first round and let KC be on the hook for the big payout. I don't disagree that Sneed is an outstanding corner. However, haven't there been players that were probowlers on one team and just ordinary on the next? (Wasn't there a CB on the Panthers that did just that?) When I said difference maker, my point was a team has to ask itself will Sneed be the difference maker to propel my team into the SB? There aren't many teams that could say that...and in the meantime, you've just awarded KC more draft capital to replace him and save the huge cap dollars.
