They sure get quiet after games like this. Weird.
When he's on his game he's one of the best. When he's off he's one of the worst. This game was a perfect example of that.
IMO keep the running in his game but work on being more of game manager.

That's the best drive I've seen from Allen since KC. This is who we need him to be from now until February.
Too bad this season it doesn't happen enough

Sorry man, we just don't agree.
They are not a good football team. Good football teams don't have negative point differentials over a 17 game season or get outgained in their first 9 games, setting an NFL record in the process. They are a fluke and will be gone first game if they somehow make the playoffs
I don't care how they did it. They still won the games they needed to put them in a spot to make the playoffs.

Every year we see teams with losing records making the playoffs. Or we see teams just have a cakewalk to the playoffs bc they play in a TRASH division and have automatic 6 wins (Chiefs past few years).
Remove the divisions. Keep AFC/NFC. Keep the same 18 week/17 game schedule every team plays every single team in their conference 1x and then do 2 games vs opposite conference every year to maintain some inter-conference rivalries alive.
Removing the divisions and going with 2 conference automatically eliminates teams with losing records making it in over teams with winning records, and it also eliminates bias by forcing all teams to have the same schedule (minus the 2 games vs opposite conference).
Thoughts?
How about not losing to teams with losing records?

then why did you post that score? you keep saying the bills have struggled to put up points all season. there were time the bills haven't too. one of those game happened to be miami. even with offense problems the bills have still won 4 games straight. i'm not saying the bills can't lose, but you're so locked on to one perspective of the game that you're losing sight of the big picture.
I posted that score to rile up the the homers on this board.
Big picture more often than not they have struggled on offense this season. While they have won 4 games in a row, IMO it helped with playing teams with average or worse offense. The only way the Bills win this game is if they can score over 30 points. With the drop off of Diggs the last 4 games I don't see it.

do you really think this is what the score will be, and please explain how this happens.
No I think it will be more like
Dolphins 30
Bills 21
The Bills have struggled to put up points all season for the most part. It continues Sunday night.

Your team is already guaranteed a playoff spot, but your team is VERY banged up.
When you play the Bills Sunday night do you:
A.) Push all your walking wounded to play in the hopes of retaining division title and #2 seed. Reward is maybe two or more home playoff games..where your record has been pretty good this year
Risk is if you win against the Bills you may play a home game, but then bumped off in the first round because your team is even more tired, and no chance to let injuries heal..more players out when it counts the most. Added bonus is it may be elimination game for Bills, but may not know if that's the case until kickoff.
B.) You rest your starters and give them a chance to heal..thus increasing your chances of winning that first playoff game...even if it's on the road.
Go all in. It's their chance to knock out a division rival from the playoffs Make them return home crying.

If we played the Jags AT HOME, our REAL home (rather than their second home), this is probably a moot point. Screw the NFL.
Yeah cause that's the reason they won't make the AFC championship game. How about the losses to the Pats and Broncos?

I don't think it's rigged. IMO all leagues are the same in that the refs are there to manage the game. Meaning call the game to keep them as close as possible. Parity is what they want as well as close games. They know casual fans don't want to see blowouts.

This. I don't know the Pats personnel, and I really haven't followed them, but the reality is that every Belichick team will play defense well. I went into the game fairly certain that the Bills wouldn't score 30. Belichick just won't allow it. He's been doing ever since he was the Giants' defensive coordinator. The scary thing was that Belichick might hold the Bills under 20, and once the Pats returned the opening kickoff, I thought the Bills were in a bigger hole than it may have looked. The Pats weren't getting over 20 unless the Bills gave away points, and that's what they did immediately.
I don't know if there's a formula for stopping the Bills, but there's not much question that good defense can slow them down considerably.
The Bills have a defense to slow the Dolphins down. The question is whether the Dolphins can keep the Bills under 30.
I think they can. The Bills have scored more than 30 points only 6 times in 16 games this season.

Struggling, but not ineffectual. Did Josh not hit key throws in the 2nd half, including on the final drive?
While true, you can't tell me that's going to happen every game.

Didn't we win the last 4 games, so how much better position would we be in?
Yeah they won those games. The thing is how confident are you that they will win in the playoffs playing that way.

I just look at our record.
With Dorsey 5-5.
With Brady 5-1. Lone loss Brady engineered 34 points.Look at the caliber of offenses they played.

Let's flip the conversation. The Bills are no longer a pass-only offense. Teams have to worry about defending the run too.
Is that why we drafted a TE and an OG in the first two rounds?
True but the offense is still struggling. As someone said earlier the problem is the Bills don't know what they are on offense.

No way that that’s automatic Pittsburgh has not played well this year
All that matters is they win. That's all you have been saying about the Bills. Doesn't matter the offense looks bad, they won.

This video is still relevant a month later. Analytics and stats show a good offense but video says otherwise

Kansas City and Dallas remember we’re on a four gang winning streak here
Dallas is the only one with a good offense. KC has struggled to score in many games this season.

It does when we’re winning the games
Again look at the offense of those teams they played. The Pats and the Chargers offense struggle on offense. You play those games against San Francisco or Baltimore and I'm not so sure they win.

Two of which were against teams with bad offenses.

I feel like the last 3 out of 4 games great defense team's. Chiefs are great in coverage, Cowboys are the pass rush also coverage, Patriots I feel like is a great defense. Those three team's can cover the wr great. Patriots great at the run and pass rush and feel like can cover wrs well.
That doesn't bode well for the playoffs when they play more of the same.

This is a critical point. They hate the Steelers and are not going to give them a free pass into the playoffs.
This the same team that has won like 20 straight games in the preseason.
I would expect Lamar to play a portion of this game and Harbaugh will go after the win.
They may want to win but I see them playing it like a pre season game. Starters play a quarter, vanilla playbook and playing it safe.

Dorsey was never the problem all long. Shocking… not. The guy was fired after a game in which the players shot themselves in the foot four times to lose the turnover battle 4-0.
The Giants game was wildly misconstrued as a bad game by the OC. The offense was nearly perfect in the second half of the Giants game and in the first half we had two drives end by WR’s getting their feet tangled up with the DB’s and Allen throwing an INT.
The good news is the Dolphins defense should be the cure for our offensive woes.
I agree with all of this pretty much.
I’ll be concerned if the offense doesn’t have a good game against the Dolphins trash defense.
Trash Defense?????????????
Outside yesterday's game, their defense has been on the rise and were holding teams to under 22 points in 7 of their last 9 games. Yeah their trash.

Absolutely right
”the team is too Josh Allen reliant”
has now switched to cook and the run game getting 30-40% more offensive touches
soooo yeah passing numbers down
i see crazy complaints just look at it
”we are down in passing !!!”
yeah
didnt have to throw against Dallas - we hammered their weakness / smart move!
los Angeles
we travel out west - it’s their superbowl - yes they played us tough - lots more at play than “oh we suck!!!” Tough place to be o and play really - interim coach and new mojo to prove a point - we won
this last game - idk - I maybe giving belechek more credit for his defense than I should but they have been playing excellent football on the defensive side of the ball.
two game winning streak against Pitt and Denver - playoff teams
Numbers are one thing but the eye test is another. WRs don't get seperation, Allen refuses to use the underneath short pass game, and Diggs is not playing like he was at the beginning of the season.
Yeah everything is fine.

They also have the 3rd overall pick. I can them trading up and getting Caleb Williams. If Vrabel takes the job I can them being competitive very quickly, especially if they grab a top QB in the draft
