When you do the ESPN playoff machine they miss out at 10-7 for a wildcard. Their best bet is the division. The Texans are done but the Browns, Bengals and Broncos all have easy schedules.

You are literally not worth the time to discuss this with. You already proved your petty dislike since year 1, there is literally no possibility for an objective discussion on the matter with you. You’ve made your mind up 7 years ago.IMO the problem with the Mclappity lovers is they are afraid if he gets fired the drought years will return and the Bills will be irrelevant again. It's great Mclappity got the Bills to the playoffs and made them relevant again. He's never going to get them over the hump.

Sure there is a chance they get in. Due to them being 6-6, they lose one more game and it's pretty much over. As mediocre the teams in front of the Bills are, they all need to just play .500 and they get to 10 wins.

Suddenly the road is wide open for the Bills
Unfortunately the Bills don't play them. They need to beat KC and Dallas to have any chance at the playoffs. 10-7 isn't going to make it. By doing the ESPN playoff machine, I have the wild cards being Indy, Houston and Denver all at 10-7. If that's how it ends the Bills are out.

I can see them cleaning house if they don't make the playoffs. The team needs a successful season next year to drive ticket sales for the new stadium. Coming back with the same regime and most likely a retool as lot of defensive guys are older will be a tough sell for casual fans.

All I know is the Bills better be winning next season. Otherwise it will be a tough sell for tickets to the new stadium

Why bother. Season will be over by then.

They keep playing like this they will be in the mix for the playoffs. My hope is they go on a run the next few weeks and maybe start getting the attention they deserve.

Ugh, the defense is giving up less than 20 pts per game, including last night’s game, ranked 6th in the league. Yardage wise they’re 10th. In what’s now a passing league, they’re 7th in the NFL, giving up just over 200 yards passing/game.Yes a lot of that was due to playing some bad offenses and QBs. Look at how they did against the Eagles, Bengals with Burrow and the Jaguars. The defense gave up more than 20 points in each of those games and struggled.
It's the same thing every season. The defense looks great during the regular season as they play a mix of good and bad teams. When the playoffs start and play good offenses they struggle.

After a day of stewing on this loss, all I can think is how demoralizing it is.
I was really hoping that the change to Brady could save the season after the Jets win. Post Eagles game, it's just abundantly clear that McDermott is not the guy. Not only does this loss probably sink the season, but it's time for an organizational restructure. Which I doubt will go well with Pegula.
The cherry on top is that the refs were clearly biased in the Eagles game which will be completely ignored by the hordes of ignorant NFL fans.
This team really can't afford a down season next year. Going into a new stadium on a downward trend is going to make hard to sell PSL and season tickets

Watching some of our wildcard competition get wins today, I can't help but think we fired Dorsey a few weeks too late 😥
There's no guarantee that changes anything. Look at the Steelers. They changed OC's and they are still the same.

I give credit to Miami for one thing. They are 8-0 in games they are *supposed* to win. A lot better than Buffalo. They still have three more of those types of games and I refuse to believe they will go 11-0 in them. Every team loses some unexpected quirky type games against lesser opponents. So Miami is DUE! That is my belief.
Most teams also win games they aren't supposed to as well. I can see them beating the Ravens. It evens out in the end. I don't think the Bills win the division at this point.

They’ve got an equal amount of tough games left imo and have a history of not showing up against good teams. We’re guaranteed to have the tiebreaker if we beat them week 18 and close a 1.5 game gap. It’s far from over.
If we were 6-5 with a loss to Miami already it would definitely take a trainwreck
While true, they also have an easy 3 next games. They win those they get to 11 wins. I don't see the Bills get that many.

The Browns are now starting their 3rd string QB. So while those games did happen, I don't think they're all that relevant to future performance. Dorian Thompson Robinson's first start was against the Ravens and they lost 28-3.
They also play 3 teams with just as bad offenses. They play the Jets, Bengals without Burrow and Bears. That defense allow will keep them in most games.
I just don't see how all the teams in front of Buffalo fall off and Buffalo all of a sudden playing as the best team in the league.

Everyone hates Dallas and the world would be happy.
I don't hate them but I don't like them either. The only team I don't like is the Steelers and that's due to their obnoxious fanbase

McDermott could be approaching Wayne fontes level if we make the playoffs. Id rather lose out but beat Dallas than make the playoffs and get smoked in the Superbowl
Why Dallas? That rivalry is non existent now.

Okay, what games do you guys have going differently? Because if the Bills only lose 2 of their last 6 games, I can't come up with very many scenarios where they don't make the playoffs. Three of the teams they are competing with are playing backup QBs it's likely one or more of those teams drops 3 games or more. NYT playoff simulator below.
I do. I have Cleveland and Denver finishing at 10-7 with Buffalo. Buffalo ends up out.

What's realistic is enough teams have the same or better record than us if we went 10-7 and keep us out of the playoffs. There are many scenarios where that can happen.
I ran the ESPN one 10 times now and the Bills get in once or twice at 10-7. They need a lot to go their way to make it at 10-7.

Browns are exactly like the Jets. Have been all year except for Watson's 2 good games. They barely outscored the Stillers.
While true, they also play the Jets, Bears and Bengals. I can see them beating all 3 of those teams.
Many here just assume since the Steelers and Browns have crappy QBs and crappy offenses they will just lost here on out. No one is taking into account their remaining schedules.
Look out for Denver, ever since the Miami game their defense has come around and the offense is playing decent now.

Pittsburgh is done. That team is cooked
I did the simulator a few times and they get in most times. It's due to their remaining schedule. They play some weak teams left and that defense will win them some games. Same goes for Cleveland. Both play the Bengals with no Burrow. It's going to come down to the last few weeks.

We lost to the Jets week 1. We just blew them out last week. It is a week to week league.
Get in and give yourself a shot.
It's also hard to win in this league. Either way if they don't 2 of the next 3 games seasons over. Even then it's going to be tough to make it at 10-7.
That lose to the Pats is going to come back go haunt them.

Not even close to the same thing. Starbucks isn’t a once in a lifetime “dream career”. If these refs were full time employees making $250k+ per year with incentives and they knew people were behind them gunning for these prestigious jobs. They would either screw up less or be replaced by someone who does screw up less until we get the cream of the crop. No more boys club of the same incompetence year after year. The NFL is the highest level of a referees industry so the NFL should treat it as such instead of making it the equivalent of a tenured professors position with no consequences for mailing it in
That's the thing. As I said earlier, the NFL has no reason to change anything. It's the same for the NBA and the NHL. They are paid to manage the games and keep them as close as possible.

Pretty confident that the results the NFL is getting with their referees is exactly what they are hoping to achieve. I would encourage you to just accept that the NFL has their reasons for not "fixing" your perceived issue and enjoying the product for what it is.
After all, if the NFL felt that it was a problem, they would make dramatic changes. Year after year, they do not.
One can speculate as to why the NFL disagrees with your assessment, but it may have to do with their classification as "sports entertainment", a designation shared most notably with the modern WWE.
Agreed. The NHL and NBA are no different. The refs call the game to keep them the score as close as possible. It helps with parity and helps with TV numbers if games are close. It will never change as calling the game this way is what's best for the league.
Chance of Playoffs now, according to NYT simulator

It's due there schedule left and their offense looked really good last week. I think they make it and the Bengals make it. The last spot comes down Buffalo, Miami and Denver.
