because it's part of an upgrade, but not the purpose.  fans want a better game day experience.  better sight lines, better scoreboard, now with ff info.  better bathrooms, better concessions, more covered areas etc.  it's about improving the viewing game experience, and some of that will include extras like a restaurant.  bills fans are there to watch football.  to tailgate with other fans, and take part in the energy.  do you really think people want to potentially spend thousands and not care about the game?

I never said they don't care about the game. The disconnect is most are looking at it solely from a Bills fan perspective. Again there is a reason that majority of stadiums are adding these social areas and amenities. It's what draws a lot of casual fans. I get it, it's not a draw for the majority of people on this board. I will ask again, why do you think stadiums are adding all these social areas?

nah.  that's just what you want.  you mentioned that you were more interested in bringing a very young child, (4 or 5) to the game, so you were more concerned about doing other things other than watching the game.  the game was a secondary experience for you.  that's it.  you don't seem to realize that just because you may want something, it doesn't mean the majority of others do.  remember when you thought light beer was going to be discontinued because you didn't drink it.

the new game day experience is going to be expensive.  anyone who buys a ticket just to hang out in a restaurant is just an #######. people are there for an improved game experience.  it's not a day care.

Yes I do want that. It's not just about that. Stadiums across all sports are going that way. There is a reason they are doing it. It's what the casual fans want.  If what you are saying is true than why are majority of stadiums adding these social amenities?

  3. As much as most of you hate the new stadiums with the social lounges and all the other amenities, its how you draw the younger generation. Most don't go to the stadium just for the game anymore. If you want just the game they can do that for free at home. It's about the stadium experience now.

Actually his comments today came on his "right or wrong" segment. Apparently he feels he was right regarding his comments last week about the Bills defensive minded stubbornness. To me, he hasn't done his homework as to what Beane has done for the offense this off season.

Cause from a national perspective the guys they added aren't sexy or big names

The attendance issues can be partially attributed to the park itself. It’s not a great value, as the park hasn’t received any useful updates in years. The place just doesn’t look like a modern amusement park. That works with smaller parks, but Darien Lake sells itself as the big fish in WNY. There’s too many better options in neighboring states to draw anyone there. They don’t even have a modern roller coaster in the park, while other parks are building new attractions with modern technology, Darien’s coasters were built in the 80’s and 90’s.

They did add Tantrum about 4 years ago.  I do like what they are doing with the former Fantasy Island.

I've lived around the US. Darien Lake has a nice clientele compared to other mega-parks. Other parks I have been to are filled with gangsta types.

Except for Hershey Park. Hershey Park is da bomb.

I wasn't talking about clientele but the park itself. Go to Cedar Point, Kings Island, Hershey or Carowinds and you see the major difference. I blame a lot of the issues on attendance.  Unless there's a concert the park is dead.

No one cares about a player taking as much money as they can. People get annoyed when players are out there flirting with their franchise just to drive up the price somewhere else. DHop has done nothing but drop hints he wants to play here, I don't really see the point if we've made our best and final offer and he doesn't want to accept it. He should just say he's looking for the best opportunity amongst the teams who will pay him the most and I don't think anyone would begrudge him that.

I would add it's not like DHop was the only one playing the Bills. Look at how many here were saying the knew someone who said he is definitely coming.

yeah well where have I heard that before. (a lot over the last 12 years)

by the way, I'm not a big hockey guy but I did see two of their previous "superstars set up for long term success" are playing for the Cup. Albeit with other cities

They had the youngest team in the NHL this season and missed the playoffs by 1 point. The future is so bright I gotta wear shades.

Sadly, the Sabres have beaten me into a position of perpetual apathy. Is Okposo that big of a story? I’d liken that to the Bills re-signing a veteran special teams gunner.

It's not a huge story but it is an actual signing. My point was that the Sabres did something, you have the NhL playoffs going on and MLB going. In Buffalo the biggest sports media story is about a football player at a restaurant in Buffalo.
