  1. I couldn't care less about his social media activity. Yes he's picked up some longer TDs. And they were exciting and fun. But a TD after 4 10 yard runs counts up the same as they do after a 40 yard run. I'm saying to go from 4 career rushing TDs to 16 in one season isn't likely sustainable. His rushing/touches reflect a back more on the Rico Dowdle level ..not an elite back. The market said today his market for a back of that level is less than half what he's hunting for. That's not smart business if you're the Bills. He's had 1 season with the high TDs. And the year before that he had fumble issues. How quick some are to forget. Has he transformed into a new player? I would be hesitant to pay him right now. Maybe add some incentives for this year, sure. But I want to see if the big plays, the YDs and the lack of fumbles are him taking steps forward or a one year flash. Players flash for a year all the time. Remember Peyton Hillis? Players post a fluke absurd stat line every so often. Raheem Mostert out up an almost identical season the year before this and is out of a job. It happens. Make him prove it wasn't a fluke this year and pay (still not $15M) the following year.
  2. Beane has said a few times that the amount we see online is often VASTLY different than what there are actually working with. He's said they often have the actual amount that includes already done yet not submitted restructures, pay cuts etc that are sitting on his desk done, yet not submitted until they need to be. Whatever we think we know...we really do not.
  3. Guy was an absolute BEAST in his prime.
  4. Before this year Cook had four career rushing TDs. He exploded this year with 16 rushing TDs in season. I think some (but not most) of that was due to them holding Allen back from actual rushing plays inside the 10 (except push plays) due to Josh breaking his hand week 1. I expect some regression to the means there. This year rushing Rico Dowdle had 1079 yards and 2 TDs. On 235 carries. He just signed a 1 year deal worth up to $6.25M. Cook had 1009 yards and the bump to 16 TDs. On 207 carries. The year before Cook had 1122 yards on 237 carries with 2 rushing TDs Sorry but a one year spike in TDs isn't worth $9M dollars a year extra. If Cook wasn't there either Josh or Davis could have picked up many of those short TD runs. A small pay bump over Dowdle? Sure. Maybe. But $15M AAV? The market itself says he isn't worth that.
  5. Wouldn't surprise me for whoever doesn't get Wilson or Rodgers to try and pry Cousins from Atlanta.
  6. I always liked the old "Plan B" free agency time period.
  7. Well he ended Saleh in Jersey. May as well hit the doubler and end Daboll too. I cannot see those two playing well together in front of the Jersey/NYC media for an entire year We likely won't know where he's going next until his next appearance on McAffee where he will make a grand announcement between Jersey and Pittsburgh.
  8. Wish the kid well. Sorry it didn't work here, but such is life We got a little som back in return and both sides can move on from a disaster pairing.
  9. Coming off the injury, I kinda hope they do. Kupp would make more sense. No draft capital spent, play the slot/intermediate routes and picks up some Kelce slack while Worthy and Rice run deeper
  10. They did just clear $50M with the Mahomes restructure....
  11. You...you still believe in Santa Clause, don't you?
  12. Most teams tamper ahead of time. Many of the "deals" agreed to on Monday had been done for days or even weeks. Let's be real here. But if it costs the Chiefs something I'm all for it.
  13. Jim Overdorff likely deserves some credit here. By my understanding, he's the one that handles contracts and salary cap. In any event the Bills have done just what teams do around the NFL every year that are over the cap. They make moves, get under and sign players. New Orleans started somewhere around $50M over and are still signing guys
  14. I'm actually shocked the Steelers didn't grab him for depth. Great PR move, local kid and knows Tomlin well. I'm ok bringing him back and hopefully it's as depth. But he does have a lot of experience for a guy his age and doesn't prevent the Bills from still going safety at some point in the first two days of the draft if the value is there.
  15. I feel a lot better about our DL then I did 72 hours ago.
  16. If he's a run stopper then I'm all aboard there.
  17. Oh I agree. But Beane and McD love him and they do like bringing guys back. I'm not sure how he would be but he did seem pretty cooked with the Rams/Baltimore last year. He's not a #1 guy anymore...but as a #2 or #3? They may take a shot. Ex Bengal as well. I liked him when he was with Cincy but didn't see a lot of him last year. Could be a decent rotational guy.
  18. A A Samuel/Tomlinson day would make me really happy.
  19. Sitting tight. Thinking we get a vet DB at some point today. Likely after 4 when things officially "start". In no particular order... Johnathan Joseph Jeff Okudah Kendall Fuller Rasul Douglas Dane Jackson Tre White Corey Ballentine Adoree Jackson Asante Samuel Are the names I'm watching today. Not necessarily me say I want all of them but a guy like White...well we know they like to bring home familiar faces.
  20. After thinking about this signing a bit. I don't mind it at all. I don't like Bosa as a person (from what I've seen) at all. Just not my cup of tea. But as a player, he can still be a force and I'm looking forward to seeing him in game action with the Bills. I'm mentally prepared to see his name on the injury list most of the season. I accept that he will miss a few games most likely. As long as those aren't in the playoffs, I'm good with it. If he can be available, reasonably healthy and have a nice post season for the Bills, then I'll like the signing. If he misses a few games in the middle of the year, so be it. I do wish they would have been able to get him on a lower value contract or had a team option for year two, but what's done is done, it's not my cash and it's up to them to work it into the books and still bring in some good players.
  21. Mixed feelings. Bosa is a force when healthy but he hasn't been healthy. Maybe using him in the rotation and saving the snaps he sees for the playoffs helps. It's a slight overpay from the "less then $10M" offers that the 49ers and Dolphins were making...but if he grabs 10-12 sacks and a ton of pressure I'm ok with it. All in all this is going to be a wait and see signing. If he plays 14 games shows out and is a factor in the playoffs it's a steal.
  22. Well being Samuel isn't even on the roster I'll rule that one out. I'm gonna say someone that gets cut after the draft.
  23. The thing I do like about trading Cook is whoever trades for him would likely give him a nice new fat contract as part of the deal. A trade gets us something in return as well as some say so over where he ends up (someplace like Dallas over someplace like KC or NE perhaps) and we avoid losing a good weapon to a rival real ala Barkley to the Eagles
