  1. While those are all facts it does not change the fact that he would be a fantastic signing. Let me ask this. Do you have faith in Dave Culley? Have you seen his resume? McCown brings way more to the table than any other QB on the market right now. It's in the intangibles that he becomes valuable. I don't care that he's 39. That's actually a plus. Hopefully he's not still an active member of the team next year and the rookie is our full time starter. I think Peterman would do extremely well to learn from a vet with solid knowledge. That QB room with a rookie and a guy with 1 NFL season would benefit from a guy like him helping break down film.
  2. McCown/Rosen/Peterman/UDFA McCown & Rosen fight for the starting spot. Peterman/UDFA fight for last roster spot.
  3. Top 5 doesn't mean 5 though. Could be wording it that way to cover his bases. Pick 2 for instance can be considered a "top 5" pick.
  4. McCown. Thought that before this week began too. He's a guy that can still play. He can be productive. It's said he's an excellent mentor that will be sought after to be a QB coach when he retires. Very convenient for us with an inexperienced QB coach, and a highly drafted QB incoming. He's a professional. I think he would play well, but not well enough that too many people will be upset when the rookie takes over. This would be just an amazing "get" for the clubhouse and the field.
  5. If it comes to fruition I would be really happy with that. Means McCown may be in play for us.
  6. I don't think he will look near as dangerous when it's Tanny tossing him the ball.
  7. Wanted McCown yesterday. Still want him most of all today.
  8. I believe the tag number was right around $15 million for him. No way in the world is he worth that.
  9. Twas a joke. There is no way we don't go QB high imo.
  10. He was underwhelming on the stat sheet but he's not a pass rusher. He did fine setting the edge on the outside. I'd like to see him add a bit of weight. Honestly I would love this trade, even though I don't think it would be realistic for the Steelers. We would get a 1 year look to see if he's got his head on straight...if not we let him walk and get a comp pick for us. It's win/win. I think that perspective 3rd or 4th round pick is more of a gain for the Steelers then Lawson would be. Just my opinion of course.
  11. Well, Josh Huff...if that is your real name. I disagree with your premises. But I fully support your right to express them. Please have a fantastic evening.
  12. How is he a better fit? He was drafted and converted in Rex's 3-4. He back to playing his normal position here from what I understand. With the way the WR market is going, if Bryant hits FA next year he will make some serious money. They will get something nice comp pick wise. They have no reason to ship him for peanuts.
  13. If they had a solid contract offer and the 12 and 22 picks in the draft with a solid QB class incoming... absolutely. Buffalo was a playoff team last year. They still have room to grow. I'd want in on that.
  14. Wanted him. Nice get for them. Now I'm hoping for Brice Butler.
  15. BREAKING NEWS: Mike Glennon has signed a deal with NASA to fulfill a boyhood dream of becoming an astronaut. We get a live look at Glennon in his new uniform.
  16. Just be on the 9th hole at 9. Secret of the pros...
  17. Can we trade the 12 for the 22? Maybe get Jerry Hughes too?
  18. It's almost like KW was just waiting to see who we were getting to play next to him before coming back. If so, he approved of the Star signing.
  19. Well, ok. Not my first desire but I will be good with this. Woke up today not wanting Allen. Saw rumor we wanted Allen. Wasn't thrilled. Makes sense now. Also helps the trade up process. We have a capable starter so aren't as desperate if Cleveland/NYG/Indy try and drive the price up.
