Yea josh allen has masked the failures from the gm and coaching staff imo
-
Explain how 4 of our 6 firsts have went to defense and why they aren't progressing much....I mean our 1st round pick last season rode the bench most of the year while Dane jackson was burnt toast....if you can honestly say bean has done a good job then idk what you have been watching.....if we simply switched our defense draft picks with offense ones and the von signing with a stud wr I'd argue our team would be in much better shape...I see it as we have done things totally backwards on how we assembled this team through the draft and FA

Unfortunately with this coaching staff it feels we will continue to build this team around MCDERMOTT I think Pegula simply isn't a hands on owner and I think bean was brought in by McDermott bc McDermott knows he will get the most sway out of any other gm....McDermott is loyal to his coordinators and men he brought in that even if one is fired he will just promote someone from within and just continue to run the same ship....I don't see any changes in how our process progresses with this entire staff...and without demand from the top it is gonna continue to be a defense first mentality imo....I don't want to say this Regime smells of cronyism but it's enough to make one wonder

Where do the Bills need to improve the most?

Better coaching would have solved that...that might be the greatest defensive collapse I've ever witnessed in the amount of time it took 😆 -
I can assure you I'm not an AI bot lol Idk I think McDermott values defense so much its almost like he has 0 concern for anything to do with the offense...and the way Bean has drafted and our signing of Von would tell me Bean did what McDermott told him to
-
They excuse our poor drafting and player development also I guess And for that reason I said fire them all.....this teams fans are so traumatized from the drought.. that all it took was average coaching to come in and they became godlike 😆....totally overlooking the fact had josh allen not been a Bill we are an 8-9 7-10 team stuck in draft purgatory just like before lol

I'm sorry I forgot this is an English class 😆

Franchise in trouble- Josh Allen has regressed

Put any qb in the league behind this line with our weapons not named diggs and have them go through 3 different OCs and one of the OCs being a rookie play caller and I would like to see ANYONE play better I don't think knox starts over cinci TE tbh -
That's bc Edmunds is asked to be something he isnt...Edmunds isn't a shallower 3rd safety he is a lber...our scheme fails to play to our players strengths..Hughes left and had a stellar year on a bad Houston team our defense isn't nasty...our identity is to sit back and react instead of attack and react

Jim Johnson was McD’s mentor. Where’s his defense?

I'd also argue and say an average defense can perform as good as our 3 playoff losses and if we invested into the offense like we have the defense most likely 1 of those losses is turned into a win -

I can say all 50 of those games dont add up as important as those 3 games...superbowl windows and franchise qbs have a limited shelf life...either you grasp that opportunity and sieze it or let it slip through your hands and wonder what could have been..... -
I read Allen restructuring his contract will add 21 m to the cap this year..TV contracts are supposed to be renewed this year further raising the cap....guess we need bean to free up some cap...he has been good at doing that he has just spent it in the defense when it should have been in the offense
-
I'm even on board with giving bean and McDermott another year of support but that would have to come with Frazier not being back and McDermott dropping his stubborn approach of his process....we need a more aggressive approach on Defense ....give dorsey another year bc we really have no choice but if this team goes out next season and has the same or worse results then McDermott has sealed his fate..McDermott is on the hot seat...no way he can't be...we are now going into year 7!....we cannot waste Josh Allen's prime..we can find 5 more mcdermotts but we will not Find another Josh allen....this team needs to be built in what protects our Qb and what is the best process for HIM
-
Well that's all anything is on this board...Nothing but opinions on what we should do....I liked McDermott and bean...I think they are what was needed to get the franchise on course....but I also think they have done all they are going to do and it is at a point their process has become a hindrance

KC rebuilt their oline in 1 offseason..while we are drafting boogie Basham before KC 2 spots later they ran to the podium to draft the best center in Football in creed Humphries

That should have been the way we filled out this defense...instead that's how we have addressed the offense 😆 -
Yes it's double what we should have given up considering what we have invested on that defense lol...Cincinnati held our much better offense with Allen and Diggs to 10 points 😆

We need a #2 wr I wholeheartedly agree....I think this staff has taken us as far as we can reasonably expect at this point....their philosophy seems to be to do it their way contradictory to how the modern NFL is going..It's an offense driven league and we have the best qb skill wise in the league..common sense says you build around him...they drafted Allen got diggs and forgot about the rest of the offense -

We simply need a hc who understands the offense is more important than Defense side of the ball...you can fill out your offense with high round picks and a big fa vet signing and field an average defense and win the superbowl in today's NFL..you can't doing it the opposite way -
If you spend that much then your progress better not be going backwards or you won't have a job very long Well I would argue that's simply bc we haven't prioritized the offense esp the oline....Allen was hurt bc one of our turnstile linemen decided to completely whiff....our talent level on the oline has been lacking since McDermott and Bean have been here...we did have an ok pass blocking unit in 2020 but we never have been able to run block very well and our interior line has not been adequately addressed

Prioritizing the dline over oline and drafting of defense first in early rounds since this staff has came on board The problem is Bean has to make cap welfare decisions now when filling out the offense and his defense picks seem average at best....we should have built this offense first while Allen was on his rookie contract...the defense only has to be average if your offense is good enough
